The forthcoming assembly elections are Kerala is noted for certain unique features. Unlike other states female voters outnumber male voters inthe State. Their number is more than ten lakh as against the male voters.  Electronic voting machines will be used in all the 140 constituencies during the single phase election of Kerala.
During 2006 assembly elections the number female voters of Kerala stood at slightly above one crore eleven lakh. Use of Electronic voting machines in all the constituencies of Kerala is another highlight of the coming election. With light showers predicted during the match today, neither of the rival teams would like to have the repeat of the Duckworth Lewis after four years at Colombo this afternoon. Hard rains unlikely though, the intermittently overcast conditions may definitely help the pacers with both the sides, who have an equally formidable batting line up too. However, on a day when the conditions are better known to Srilanka at home, Australian openers Shane Watson and Brad Haddin followed by skipper Ricky ponting must aim at piling a sizable total before Muralidharan, Dilshan and company start clicking on a pitch where Shahid Afridi turned the Canadian apple-cart just two days ago. On the other hand, if Srilankan batting prowess spearheaded by Upul Tharanga, Dilshan and Sangakkara gets going, the going may get tuff for the top ranking ODI side Australia in this interesting face-off by all measures without doubt.

The Former French colony has an electorate of just over 8 lakh voters. Puducherry has been a bastion of the Congress, with the AIADMK and DMK ruling it once each.
