भारत और पाकिस्तान के बीच रक्षा सचिव स्तर की वार्ता आज से पाकिस्तान के रावलपिंडी शहर में शुरू हो रही है। भारत के रक्षा सचिव शशिकांत शर्मा वार्ता के लिए कल इस्लामाबाद पहुंचे। पाकिस्तान की तरफ से रक्षा सचिव नर्गिस सेठी वार्ता करेंगी। श्री शर्मा पाकिस्तान के रक्षा मंत्री नवीद कमर के साथ भी चर्चा करेंगे।सियाचिन मुद्दे पर दो दिन की यह वार्ता भारत-पाकिस्तान के बीच फिर शुरू हुई बातचीत का हिस्सा है। सात अप्रैल को सियाचिन में हिमस्खलन के कारण पाकिस्तान के एक सौ ३९ सैनिक मारे गए थे। इस घटना के एक दिन बाद पाकिस्तान के राष्ट्रपति आसिफ अली जरदारी निजी यात्रा पर भारत आये थे। इसी दौरान श्री जरदारी ने दुनिया के इस सबसे ऊंचे युद्ध क्षेत्र सियाचिन से दोनों देशों की सेनाओं को हटाने का मुद्दा उठाया था।वार्ता से पहले रक्षा मंत्री ए के एंटनी ने कहा कि सियाचिन के मुद्दे पर भारत की स्थिति बिल्कुल स्पष्ट है और वार्ता के दौरान रक्षा सचिव पाकिस्तान को इससे अवगत करा देंगे।पाकिस्तान मामलों के जानकार राहुल जलाली ने बताया कि इस मुद्दे पर समझौता होना फिलहाल मुमकिन नहीं है।भारत और पाकिस्तान के बीच में सियाचिन और सरक्रीक पर समझौता होना अभी दूर लगता है। हां ये बात सही है कि दोनों देश इन दोनों इश्यूज पर, कहीं न कहीं एक आगे अपनी बातचीत बढ़+ा सकते हैं। हो सकता है कि पाकिस्तान थोड़ी लचक दिखाए और समझौते के लिए तैयार रहे पर रक्षा सचिवों की मीटिंगों में इस पर समझौता होना फिलहाल दिखता नहीं है। ''

विधि मंत्री सलमान खुर्शीद ने कहा है कि टीम अन्ना ने भ्रष्टाचार विरोधी आंदोलन को व्यक्तिगत अभियान बना लिया है। श्री खुर्शीद ने कल चेन्नई में पत्रकारों से कहा कि समय आने पर देश उनको उचित जवाब देगा। उन्होंने टीम अन्ना की सदस्य किरण बेदी द्वारा कोयला खंडों के आवंटन में कथित अनियमितताओं के लिए प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह पर किए गए हमले पर यह प्रतिक्रिया व्यक्त की। विधि मंत्री ने कहा कि टीम अन्ना के सदस्यों का रवैया ठीक नहीं है ।---------
वित्तमंत्री प्रणब मुखर्जी ने कहा है कि भारत ने विदेशों में जमा कालेधन का ब्यौरा प्राप्त करने के लिए ३७ देशों से संधियां की हैं। पश्चिम बंगाल में खारग्राम में कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ताओं की एक बैठक में श्री मुखर्जी ने कहा कि भारतीयों द्वारा विदेशों में जमा किया गया सारा पैसा, काला-धन नही है। उन्होंने कहा कि हो सकता है कि व्यापारियों या व्यापारिक घरानों ने यह पैसा जमा कराया हो।---------

बिहार के गया जिले में बाल्थर के जंगलों में सुरक्षा बलों और माओवादियों के बीच मुठभेड़ में सीआरपीएफ का एक जवान शहीद हो गया और नौ घायल हो गए। मुठभेड़ में दो माओवादी भी मारे गए। पुलिस के अनुसार कल सुबह छह बजे शुरू हुई इस मुठभेड़ में सीआरपीएफ के जवान सचिंद्र शर्मा को माओवादियों की गोली लगी जबकि सुरक्षा बलों ने दो नक्सलियों को मार गिराया। पुलिस मुख्यालय में अतिरिक्त पुलिस महानिदेशक रविंद्र कुमार ने बताया कि सुरक्षाबलों को जंगल में कई स्थानों पर खून के धब्बे दिखाई दिए जिससे संकेत मिलता है कि मुठभेड़ में कुछ और विद्रोही भी मारे गए या घायल हुए होंगे।---------
उत्तर भारत में कुछ दिन की राहत के बाद गर्मी फिर बढ़ गई है। क्षेत्र के ज्यादातर भागों में अधिकतम तापमान ४० डिग्री सेल्सियस से ऊपर है।राजधानी दिल्ली में कल अधिकतम तापमान ४१ दशमलव ८ डिग्री सेल्सियस रहा जो सामान्य से तीन डिग्री अधिक था।उत्तर प्रदेश में मॉनसून देरी से आने के अनुमान के साथ ही तापमान फिर बढ़ना शुरू हो गया है। राज्यभर में कुछ राहत के बाद अधिकतम तापमान एक बार फिर ४५ डिग्री को पार कर गया है।हालांकि राजस्थान में तापमान में मामूली गिरावट आई है, लेकिन गर्मी जारी है।पंजाब, हरियाणा और चंडीगढ़ में हल्की और छिटपुट वर्षा के बाद कुछ दिन तक तापमान कम हो गया लेकिन क्षेत्र में गर्मी फिर बढ़ गई है और अधिकतम तापमान ४२ डिग्री सेल्सियस तक पहुंच गया है।मौसम विभाग ने अगले दो दिनों में पंजाब और हरियाणा में मौसम खुष्क रहने की संभावना व्यक्त की है।उधर,मुम्बई और उसके उपनगरीय इलाकों में कल मॉनसून से पहले की बारिश हुई जिससे गर्मी से कुछ राहत मिली। मौसम विभाग के निदेशक वी. के. राजीव के अनुसार अगले ४८ घंटों में मुम्बई में मॉनसून आने की संभावना है।---------

The Defence Secretary level talks between India and Pakistan begin today in the garrison city of Rawalpindi. The Indian side will be led by Defence Secretary Shashikant Sharma, who arrived in Islamabad yesterday. The Pakistani side will be led by Defence Secretary Nargis Sethi, a close confidant of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. Mr Sharma will also hold talks with Pakistan's Defence Minister Naveed Qamar, who recently took over the portfolio as part of a minor reshuffle. The two-day talks on the Siachen issue, part of the resumed dialogue process between India and Pakistan, will be held against the backdrop of calls to demilitarise the world's highest battlefield following an avalanche that killed 139 people on the 7th of April. Pak President Asif Ali Zardari raised the issue of demilitarising Siachen when he met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during a private visit to India a day after the glacier hit the Pakistan Army camp at Gyari.
Ahead of the talks, Indian Defence Minister AK Antony cautioned against expecting any breakthrough at the meeting of the Defence Secretaries. Mr Antony said, India has a clear-cut position on the Siachen issue which the Defence Secretary will explain to the Pakistani side during the talks. The Cabinet Committee on Security also discussed the Siachen issue at a meeting on Thursday and cleared the agenda for talks. We spoke to Senior Journalist, Rahul Jalali on the developments.
“India and Pakistan are once again going to discuss the contentious issue. Not that much headway would be made on both these issues as in the last ministerial level meeting nothing could happen. Pakistan’s reluctance on authenticating the ground level positions on Siachen and also in Sir Creek denies the opportunities for both countries to come to an agreement in these two areas. Therefore the much needed zone for peace to be created in Siachen, would still remain a pipe dream and the need to look for minerals in Sir Creek seems a distant away.”

Law Minister Salman Khurshid has said that team Anna is converting the anti-corruption movement to launch a personal campaign. Talking to reporters in Chennai Yesterday, Mr. Khurshid said that the country will give them a suitable answer when the time comes. His reaction came after Team Anna member Kiran Bedi yesterday attacked Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in the alleged irregularities in the coal block allocation. The Law minister said that team Anna members are not very helpful to democracy in our country.
“I don't think that they are being very helpful and very good to democracy in our country. We all felt that they started-off with good idea, idea of containing corruption and questioning corruption was a good idea. But today, they are doing greatest disservice to this good idea by converting it into a personal campaign and a personal ambition".
Mr. Khurshid alleged that the Team Anna members have never sought a probe against themselves.
Meanwhile, the BJP reiterated its support to team Anna's demand for probing the allegations of corruption against the UPA government.

In Bihar, a CRPF jawan and two ultras were killed and nine security personnel injured, in an encounter between the security forces and armed Maoists in Balthar forests in Gaya district yesterday. Additional Director General of Police, Headquarters, Ravindra Kumar said, the encounter took place after the CRPF's CoBRA battalion, STF and Gaya police launched a joint combing operation in Balthar forests yesterday morning following a tip-off. Mr Kumar said, two ultras were killed during the encounter, which began at 6 AM. He said, security forces detected blood stains at several places in the forest which indicates that several other ultras may have also died or suffered injuries.

VS Sampath will take over as the 18th Chief Election Commissioner of India today. A 1973 batch IAS officer, 62-year-old Sampath will succeed SY Quraishi, who demitted office at the end of his six-year tenure yesterday. Mr Sampath will preside over the next Lok Sabha elections in 2014. A low-profile bureaucrat, who has had stints in various capacities in Andhra Pradesh and Delhi, Mr Sampath was Power Secretary at the Centre before he was appointed Election Commissioner in April, 2009. Born on January 16, 1950, Mr Sampath will be at the helm of the Commission till January, 2015 when he will turn 65.

In Punjab, the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP combine has swept the Municipal Corporation polls for Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar and Patiala. In Jalandhar, SAD-BJP alliance has won 30 out of 60 wards, while Congress has won 22. Seven wards have gone to Independents and one to People’s Party of Punjab. In Amritsar, the ruling alliance has won 48 out of 65 wards, while Congress has managed four and CPI one. Independents have won 11 wards. Result of ward number 3 has not been declared due to some technical problem.
In Patiala, out of 50 seats, SAD has won 32, while its alliance partner BJP has won 7. Eight seats have gone to Congress and two have been won by independents. Repolling has been ordered at a booth in ward number one.

In Uttar Pradesh, the temperature has started rising again amid the prediction of a delayed monsoon. The met office says that the South-Western Monsoon is expected to reach the Bay of Bengal in the next two days. Pre-monsoon showers lashed several parts of Mumbai and its suburbs yesterday, bringing respite from heat.

The West Bengal Government has taken up a project to ensure house for all in rural areas of the state by next four years. Under the project ‘Nijo Griho, Nijo Bhumi’, every landless family in the rural areas will be given three Katthas of land for housing purpose. In order to attract investments from the Gulf region into India, the Finance Ministry has organized a series of road shows. After a successful road show in Riyadh yesterday, the next round is being organized in Dubai today. सरकार सकल घरेलू उत्पाद में वृद्धि के लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने के लिए सभी आवश्यक उपाय कर रही है। वित्तमंत्री प्रणब मुखर्जी ने कहा है कि वैश्विक आर्थिक चुनौतियों के बावजूद २०१२-१३ वित्त वर्ष में वृद्धि दर सात प्रतिशत रहने की उम्मीद है। आज नई दिल्ली में सीमा शुल्क, केन्द्रीय उत्पाद शुल्क और सेवा कर मुख्य आयुक्तों और महानिदेशकों के वार्षिक सम्मेलन का उद्घाटन करते हुए श्री प्रणब मुखर्जी ने इन चिन्ताओं को खारिज किया कि भारत की वृद्धि दर कम होकर साढ़े छह प्रतिशत से नीचे आ सकती है। उन्होंने विश्वास व्यक्त किया कि वर्ष २०१२-१३ देश की अर्थव्यवस्था के फिर से पटरी पर आने का वर्ष होगा। उन्होंने कहा कि ब्याज दरों को पहले के स्तर पर लाने, खनन क्षेत्र में सुधार और तिमाही में निवेश में वृद्धि दर बढ़ने से ये लक्ष्य हासिल करने में मदद मिलेगी। वित्तमंत्री ने आशा व्यक्त की कि दक्षिण पश्चिमी मॉनसून सामान्य रहने के अनुमानों और हाल के हफ्तों में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बाजार में तेल की कीमतों में कमी के कारण भी सकल घरेलू उत्पाद की वृद्धि दर बढ़ाने में सहायता मिलेगी।२०१२-१३ के बजट में सरकार ने सकल घरेलू उत्पाद वृद्धि दर करीब सात दशमलव छह प्रतिशत होने का अनुमान व्यक्त किया था। श्री मुखर्जी ने करों और सकल घरेलू उत्पाद के अनुपात में कमी पर चिन्ता व्यक्त की और अधिकारियों से इस प्रवृति को बदलने को कहा। करों और सकल घरेलू उत्पाद का अनुपात २०११-१२ में घटकर दस दशमलव पांच प्रतिशत रह गया, जो २००७-८ में १२ प्रतिशत था। वित्तमंत्री ने कहा कि सरकार ने काले धन पर काबू पाने के लिए कई उपाय किये हैं।

आयकर विभाग, काले धन और कर चोरी से निपटने के लिए कड़ी मशक्कत कर रहा है, क्योंकि इससे देश की अर्थव्यवस्था को नुकसान होता है, साथ ही देश की सुरक्षा को भी यह खतरा पैदा करते है, क्योंकि इनके संबंध मनी लॉड्रिंग और आतंक के लिए दिये जाने वाले धन से होता है।
सरकार ने काले धन से संबंधित मौजूदा कानूनों को और मजबूत करने के लिए सभी सम्बद्ध पक्षों से बातचीत करने के वास्ते एक समिति बनाई है। इसकी रिर्पोट पर विचार किया जा रहा है और इससे मौजूदा विधायी और प्रशासनिक व्यवस्था के बीच की खाई को पहचानने में सहायता मिलेगी। श्री मुखर्जी ने कहा कि सरकार ने काले धन पर काबू पाने के लिए एक अन्य महत्वपूर्ण कदम उठाते हुए संसद में बेनामी लेनदेन निरोधक विधेयक २०११ पेश किया है। उन्होंने कहा कि इस विधेयक में बेनामी लेनदेन और बेनामी सम्पत्ति से निपटने के लिए व्यापक प्रावधान है। श्री मुखर्जी ने विश्वास व्यक्त किया कि प्रत्यक्ष कर कोड अगले वर्ष पहली अप्रैल से लागू हो जाएगा, क्योंकि संसद के मॉनसून सत्र में एक संशोधन विधेयक पेश किया जाएगा। उन्होंने बताया कि संसद की स्थाई समिति अपनी रिपोर्ट पहले ही दे चुकी है।

भारत और पाकिस्तान के रक्षा सचिवों की सियाचिन मुद्दे पर दो दिन की वार्ता आज इस्लामाबाद में शुरू हो रही है। पाकिस्तान में मांग की जाती रही है कि विश्व के सबसे ऊॅंचाई वाले इस युद्ध क्षेत्र से यथासंभव जल्दी से जल्दी सेना हटा ली जाए। इसी पृष्ठभूमि में यह बातचीत हो रही है। रक्षा सचिव श्री शशिकांत शर्मा विचार-विमर्श के लिए पाकिस्तान पहुंच चुके हैं। वार्ता में पाकिस्तानी पक्ष का नेतृत्व वहॉं की रक्षा सचिव नर्गिस सेठी करेंगी।---
नागरिक उड्डयन मंत्री अजीत सिंह ने कहा है कि यह एयर इंडिया के प्रबंधन को तय करना है कि जब उसके हड़ताली विमान चालक काम पर नहीं आ रहे हैं तो कब तक उन्हें पे-रोल पर रहने दिया जाए। श्री अजीत सिंह आज नयी दिल्ली में संवाददाताओं से बातचीत कर रहे थे। उन्होंने कहा कि विमान चालक तीस दिन से अधिक समय से काम पर नहीं लौटे हैं इसलिए प्रबंधन को अब उनके खिलाफ कार्रवाई करनी चाहिए।अजीत सिंह
ये पायलट ३० से भी अधिक दिनों से काम पर नहीं आये है। यह एक गैर-कानूनी हड़ताल है। उन्होंने उच्च न्यायालय का आदेश भी नहीं माना। हमने बार-बार उनसे काम पर लौटने की अपील की है। अब जबकि ये काम पर नहीं लौट रहे हैं, और न ही लौटने का उनका कोई इरादा है, तो प्रबंधन को यह निर्णय लेना होगा कि वह कब तक इन्हें पे-रोल पर रख सकता है।
इस बीच, एयर इंडिया ने दुनिया भर में अपनी उड़ानों की समीक्षा के लिए एक समिति बनाई है। यह समिति प्रबंधन को सुझाव देगी कि एयर इंडिया की अंतर्राष्ट्रीय उड़ानों के लिए वास्तव में कितने विमान चालकों की आवश्यकता है। एयर इंडिया के प्रबंधक तीन सौ और विमान चालकों को बर्खास्त करने पर भी विचार कर रहे हैं। ये विमान चालक पिछले ३४ दिन से हड़ताल पर हैं।
एयर इंडिया पहले ही १०१ हड़ताली विमान चालकों को बर्खास्त कर चुकी है और उसने इंडियन पॉयलट्स गिल्ड की मान्यता खत्म कर दी है। पिछले महीने की ७ तारीख से शुरू हुई हड़ताल का गिल्ड द्वारा नेतृत्व किया जा रहा है। एयर इंडिया ने नये विमान चालकों की भर्ती के लिए हाल में विज्ञापन जारी किया है। एयर इंडिया के अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मार्गों पर उड़ान करने वाले पॉयलटों की मौजूदा हड़ताल से अब तक ४५० करोड़ रूपए से अधिक का नुकसान हुआ है।

भारत अर्थ मूवर्स लिमिटेड -बी ई एम एल के मुख्य प्रबंध निदेशक वी आर एस नटराजन को सरकार ने निलंबित कर दिया है। रक्षा मंत्रालय के एक वक्तव्य में कहा गया है कि यह कार्रवाई सीबीआई की एक सिफारिश पर की गई है। सीबीआई ने कहा था कि नटराजन पर जो आरोप लगे हैं उनकी निष्पक्ष जॉंच सुनिश्चित करने के लिए उन्हें पद से अलग रखा जाना चाहिए। बी ई एम एल के वरिष्ठ निदेशक पी द्वारकानाथ को मुख्य प्रबंध निदेशक का कार्यभार सौंपा गया है।---
उच्चतम न्यायालय ने शिक्षा संस्थानों में अन्य पिछड़े वर्गो के लिए २७ प्रतिशत आरक्षण में से अल्पसंख्यकों के लिए साढ़े चार प्रतिशत आरक्षण को रद्द करने संबंधी आंध्रप्रदेश उच्च न्यायालय के आदेश पर रोक लगाने से इन्कार कर दिया है। न्यायालय ने इस बात पर अप्रसन्नात व्यक्त की कि केन्द्र ने अल्पसंख्यकों के लिए आरक्षण की नीति के बारे में उच्च न्यायालय के सामने कोई दस्तावेज नहीं रखे। न्यायालय ने केन्द्र से अल्पसंख्यकों को साढ़े चार प्रतिशत उप कोटा देने संबंधी दस्तावेज पेश करने को कहा। न्यायालय में इस मामले पर बुधवार को सुनवाई होगी।---
हैदराबाद में सीबीआई की विशेष अदालत ने कडप्पा से लोकसभा सांसद जगन मोहन रेड्डी की न्यायिक हिरासत की अवधि १४ दिन और बढ़ाकर २५ जून तक कर दी है। जगन मोहन को उनके खिलाफ आय से अधिक सम्पत्ति के मामले में पिछले महीने की २७ तारीख को गिरफ्तार किया गया था। उन्हें आज सुबह सीबीआई की विशेष अदालत में पेश किया गया, क्योंकि उनकी न्यायिक हिरासत की अवधि आज समाप्त हो रही थी। अदालत ने जगन मोहन का नारको टैस्ट कराने की अनुमति संबंधी सीबीआई की याचिका पर सुनवाई भी १४ जून तक स्थगित कर दी। जगन मोहन के वकील ने उन पर नारको टैस्ट किये जाने पर आपत्ति की थी। इससे पहले सीबीआई ने जगन मोहन रेड्डी से अपनी हिरासत में सात दिन तक पूछताछ की। समझा जाता है कि उनकी कंपनियों में निवेश के बारे में उनसे पूछताछ की गई।---
मुख्य निर्वाचन आयुक्त वी एस सम्पत ने कहा है कि चुनाव सुधारों को जल्दी लागू करने के लिए राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर विचार विमर्श किया जा रहा है। आज नई दिल्ली में देश के १८वें मुख्य निर्वाचन आयुक्त के रूप में कार्यभार संभालने के बाद संवाददाताओं से बातचीत में श्री सम्पत ने कहा कि विधि मंत्रालय और निर्वाचन आयोग ने इस बारे में विचार विमर्श किया है। उन्होंने कहा कि क्षेत्रीय स्तर पर भी विचार विमर्श किया गया, ताकि लोगों, कानूनी विशेषज्ञों और चुनाव प्रक्रिया से सम्बद्ध अन्य पक्षों के विचार जाने जा सकें। उन्होंने कहा कि नये मुख्य निर्वाचन आयुक्त के रूप में वे चुनाव सुधारों को तेज करने की दिशा में प्रयास करेंगे।वी.एस. सम्पत

श्री सम्पत ने कहा कि निर्वाचन आयोग देश के राष्ट्रपति और उपराष्ट्रपति पद के चुनावों की तैयारी कर रहा है, जिनके लिए जल्दी अधिसूचना जारी की जाएगी। उन्होंने कहा कि आयोग गुजरात, हिमाचलप्रदेश, नगालैंड, त्रिपुरा और मेघालय में भी आगामी विधानसभा चुनावों की तैयारियों में लगा है। श्री सम्पत ने कहा कि निर्वाचन आयोग जल्दी ही इन तैयारियों का जायजा लेने के लिए इन राज्यों का दौरा करेगा। श्री सम्पत ने कहा है कि उनकी प्राथमिकताओं में मतदाता सूचियों को ठीक करना, मतदाता सूचियों में सभी योग्य लोगों का निःशुल्क पंजीकरण करना और अयोग्य व्यक्तियों को इन सूचियों से हटाना शामिल है। उन्होंने कहा कि चुनाव प्रक्रिया को अपराध और धन बल के दुरूपयोग से मुक्त करने के प्रयास जारी रहेंगे। श्री सम्पत ने कहा कि राजनीतिक दलों को निर्धारित सीमा के अन्दर रहकर ही रैलियों, पोस्टरों और वाहनों के लिए खर्च करना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि मतदाताओं को नकद पैसा देकर या अन्य किसी तरह से लुभाने के प्रयासों पर काबू पाया जाएगा।

मध्यप्रदेश में महात्मा गांधी राष्ट्रीय ग्रामीण रोजगार कानून-मनरेगा के तहत श्रमिकों को दिहाड़ी की अदायगी के लिए जल्द ही ई-भुगतान प्रबंधन प्रणाली लागू की जाएगी। इसका उद्देश्य यह है कि मजदूरों को उनका पैसा मिलने में देरी न हो। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया है कि राज्य के हरदा जनपद पंचायत के गहाल ग्राम पंचायत क्षेत्र में प्रायोगिक परियोजना के रूप में इस महीने के अंत से मजदूरों को ई- भुगतान व्यवस्था से मजदूरी दी जाएगी।इलेक्ट्रोनिक फंड मैनेजमेंट सिस्टम में मजदूरों द्वारा किये गये कार्यो की जानकारी का मस्टर रोल्स पर अंकन होने के बाद एक साफ्टवेयर द्वारा उन्हें होने वाले भुगतान की सूची तैयार की जाएगी। कार्य की क्रियान्वयन एजेंसी के भुगतान प्राधिकारी, जिनमें ग्राम सरपंच और सचिव शामिल है, द्वारा भुगतान सूची का सत्यापन डिजीटल सिग्नेचर द्वारा किया जाएगा। भुगतान प्राधिकारियों द्वारा डिजीटल हस्ताक्षर सूचियों को बैंक सर्वर पर डाला जाएगा। सर्वर पर सूची डाले जाने के चंद सैकेण्ड के बाद ही मजदूरों के खातों में मजदूरी का भुगतान हो जाएगा। राज्य के पंचायत और ग्रामीण विकास मंत्री गोपाल भार्गव ने कहा है कि इस व्यवस्था के लागू होने से अब ग्राम पंचायतों में मजदूरी के भुगतान में राशि की कमी से संबंधित समस्या भी खत्म हो जाएगी। शारिक नूर, आकाशवाणी समाचार, भोपाल।

आन्ध्र प्रदेश में लोकसभा की एक और विधानसभा की १८ सीटों के उपचुनाव के लिए कल होने वाले मतदान के सिलसिले में व्यापक प्रबंध किए गए हैं। लोकसभा का उपचुनाव नेल्लोर में हो रहा है। उपचुनावों के लिए बारह जिलों में ५ हजार ४१३ मतदान केन्द्र बनाए गए हैं जहॉं ४६ लाख से अधिक मतदाताओं को वोट डालने का अधिकार होगा। इन उपचुनावों में २५५ उम्मीदवारों के भाग्य का फैसला होगा। सभी प्रमुख राजनीतिक दलों ने अपने प्रत्याशी खड़े किए हैं। राज्य के विशेष पुलिस बल के अलावा केन्द्रीय सशस्त्र बलों की लगभग १४० कंपनियों को तैेनात किया गया है। लगभग ५० हजार लोगों को चुनाव ड्यूटी पर लगाया गया है। चुनाव अधिकारियों ने स्वतंत्र और निष्पक्ष मतदान सुनिश्चित करने के उद्देश्य से घर-घर जाकर चुनाव प्रचार करने, मतदाता पर्चियॉं वितरित करने और एकमुश्त एसएमएस भेजने के सिलसिले में अनेक प्रतिबंध लगाए हैं। पहली बार मतदाताओं की एकमात्र पहचान के लिए चुनाव फोटो-पहचान पत्र इस्तेमाल किए जा रहे हैं।---

जम्मू-कश्मीर के राज्यपाल और श्रीअमरनाथ श्राइन बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष एन.एन वोहरा, आज चन्दनवाड़ी और नूनवन स्थित शिविरों के दौरे पर जा रहे हैं। इसका उद्देश्य श्रीअमरनाथ यात्रा के इन दोनों मार्गों पर जमी बर्फ को हटाने के काम की समीक्षा करना है। वे बाद में खण्ड और जिला प्रशासन के साथ उच्चस्तरीय बैठक की अध्यक्षता भी करेंगे। बैठक में यात्रा को समय पर शुरू किये जाने की तैयारियों की समीक्षा की जाएगी। वार्षिक श्रीअमरनाथ यात्रा २५ जून से शुरू होकर दो अगस्त, २०१२ को रक्षाबंधन के दिन संपन्न हागीे। सरकार और अमरनाथ श्राइन बोर्ड दोनों ही की कोशिश है कि यात्रा समय पर शुरू हो, लेकिन खराब मौसम, जमी बर्फ को हटाने बाधक बना हुआ है। इस मार्ग के कई स्थानों पर लगभग १८ फुट बर्फ जमी है। यात्रा मार्ग को साफ करने के लिए श्राइन बोर्ड ने पर्याप्त संख्या में मजदूर और मशीनें लगा दी हैं।---
म्यांमा के राष्ट्रपति थियेन सियेन ने देश के राखीन राज्य में कल रात आपात स्थिति की घोषणा कर दी, जिसके बाद से वहां काफी तनाव पैदा हो गया है। इस क्षेत्र में बौद्धों और मुसलमानों के बीच पिछले हफ्ते हिंसा की कई घटनाएं हुईं, जिससे सात लोगों की मौत हो गई और संपत्ति को बहुत नुकसान पहुंचा। पिछले महीने एक बौद्ध भिक्षुणी की हत्या कर दी गई थी, जिससे वहां गड़बड़ी फैल गई। इसके बाद मुसलमानों को ले जा रही एक बस पर हमला किया गया। टेलिविजन पर अपने भाषण में राष्ट्रपति थियेन सियेन ने कहा कि हिंसा की वजह से देश के लोकतंत्र के मार्ग पर बढ़ने में खतरा पैदा हो सकता है।---
इराक की राजधानी बगदाद के उत्तर-पश्चिम काज+ीमियां जिले के कुरैश मैदान में एकत्र शिया मुस्लिम लोगों पर कल दो मोर्टार बम हमले किये गए, जिसमें कम से कम छह लोग मारे गए और ३८ घायल हुए। इमाम मुसा-अल-काजि+म की बरसी के अवसर पर शिया लोग वहां इकट्ठे हुए थे। पुलिस सूत्रों के अनुसार मरने वालों की संख्या बढ़ सकती है। गृह मंत्रालय के सूत्रों ने बताया है कि सुरक्षाबलों को सतर्क कर दिया गया है और काजीमियां के आस-पास सुरक्षा कड़ी कर दी गई है।---
पाकिस्तान के दक्षिण-पश्चिम जिले मस्तंग की एक यात्री बस के पास हुए विस्फोट में कम से कम छह लोग मारे गये और चालीस से अधिक घायल हो हुए। स्थानीय मीडिया के अनुसार बलुचिस्तान में मस्तंग के मुख्य मार्ग पर जा रही यात्री बस पर बम से हमला किया गया था। इस बस में ५० से अधिक लोग सवार थे। बस क्वेटा से नोश्की जा रही थी। सरकारी सूत्रों के अनुसार विस्फोट रिमोट कंट्रोल से किया गया। विस्फोटक मोटरसाईकल पर रखे हुए थे। किसी भी गुट ने अभी तक इस विस्फोट की जिम्मेदारी नहीं ली है।---
विश्व बैंक ने कहा है कि दक्षिण एशिया में पांच साल से कम आयु के आठ करोड़ बीस लाख बच्चे कुपोषित हैं। नेपाल के लिए विश्व बैंक की कंट्री मैनेजर तहसीन सईद ने कहा कि दक्षिण एशिया दुनिया का ऐसा क्षेत्र है, जहां कुपोषित बच्चों की संख्या सबसे ज्यादा है। सुश्री सईद काठमांडु में पोषाहार के बारे में दो दिन की कार्यशाला में बोल रही थीं।---
उत्तर प्रदेश में केन्द्रीय कोयला मंत्री श्रीप्रकाश जायसवाल ने आज कानपुर जिला के घाटमपुर में १९ सौ ८० मेगावाट क्षमता के एक विद्युत संयंत्र का शिलान्यास किया। ये बिजली संयंत्र नेवेली लिग्नाइट कार्पोरेशन लिमिटेड और उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य विद्युत उत्पादन निगम लिमिटेड का संयुक्त उद्यम होगा। इस अवसर पर आयोजित समारोह को सम्बोधित करते हुए श्री जायसवाल ने औद्योगीकीकरण के लिए बुनियादी विकास ढांचों के विकास की जरूरत और बेरोजगारी मुद्दे पर ध्यान देना होगा। उन्होंने कहा कि यह परियोजना २०१६ तक पूरी हो जाएगी और इससे राज्य में बिजली आपूर्ति की स्थिति में सुधार होगा। उन्होंने कहा कि ये राज्य का सबसे बड़ा बिजली संयंत्र होगा। उन्होंने किसानों को आश्वासन दिया कि उन्हें इस संयंत्र के लिए अधिगृहित भूमि का पर्याप्त मुआवजा दिया जाएगा। उन्होंने यह भी आश्वासन दिया कि संयंत्र में स्थानीय लोगों को प्राथमिकता दी जाएगी।शिलान्यास समारोह की अध्यक्षता करते हुए राज्य के मुख्यमंत्री अखिलेश यादव ने कहा कि बिजली उत्पादन राज्य सरकार की प्राथमिकताओं में शामिल हैं। उन्होंने सम्बन्धित विभागों के अधिकारियों को कहा कि वे २०१४ तक इस संयंत्र की तीन इकाइयों को पूरा कर दें।

The government is taking all necessary steps to ensure achieving the targeted GDP growth. Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee today said, despite global economic challenges, the growth rate during fiscal year 2012-13 is expected to be around 7 per cent. Inaugurating the annual conference of the Chief Commissioners and Directors General of Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax in New Delhi, Mr Mukherjee dismissed concerns that India's growth rate may drop below 6.5 per cent.
He expressed confidence that year 2012-13 would be the turnaround year for the economy. He said, factors like the reversal of interest rate cycle, turning around of mining sector growth and quarterly investment growth rate would help in achieving the target. The Minister expressed hope that prediction of normal south west monsoon and a rapid decline in international oil prices in recent weeks, will further help in growth of the GDP.
In the Budget 2012-13, the government had pegged 2012-13 GDP growth at 7.6 per cent plus- minus 0.25 per cent. Mr Mukherjee expressed concern over decline in tax-GDP ratio and asked the officials to reverse the trend. The tax-GDP ratio has dropped to 10.5 per cent in 2011-12, from 12 per cent in 2007-08. The Minister said that government has taken several measures to curb the menace of black money. It has constituted a Committee to consult all stakeholders to strengthen existing laws relating to black money.
Income tax department has been striving to check the menace of the black money and tax duration. Which its into the vitals of the National Economy and also posses states to National Security through linkage of money landlording and taro financing.
Mr. Mukherjee informed that another important step taken by the government to curb the generation and channelization of black money, is the introduction of Benami Transactions Prohibition Bill 2011 in Parliament. He said, this will help in reducing the menace of black money as it contains elaborate provisions dealing with the definition of Benami transaction and Benami property .Mr. Mukherjee expressed confidence that the Direct Tax Code, DTC Bill will be implemented from 1st of April next year.

Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh has said that it is up to the Air India management to decide for how long to keep striking pilots on their pay-roll when they are not working. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, Mr Singh said

Meanwhile, the National Carrier Air India has set up a Committee to review its global operations to find out how many pilots are required to operate flights. The Committee will advise the management on the actual number of pilots needed to run Air India's international operations. The Air India management have also been mulling to sack 300 more pilots who have been on strike for the past 34 days.
The national carrier had sacked 101 striking pilots and de-recognised the Indian Pilots' Guild which has been leading this agitation, since the strike began on the 7th of last month. Air India has recently issued an advertisement for recruiting fresh pilots, both experts and locals. The ongoing strike by the Air India pilots who fly international routes, has led to the loss of over 450 crore rupees so far.

The Supreme Court today refused to stay the Andhra Pradesh High Court order quashing 4.5 per cent sub-quota for minorities, within 27 per cent OBC quota in educational institutions. The apex court expressed unhappiness over Centre not placing any documents before the high court to support the policy of quota for minorities. It has asked the Centre to place supporting documents for providing 4.5 per cent quota to the minorities. The court will hear the matter on Wednesday.

A CBI Special Court in Hyderabad has extended the Judicial Remand of Kadapa Lok Sabha Member, Jaganmohan Reddy by another 14 days till June 25. Mr. Reddy was arrested in the Disproportionate Assets case on the 27th of last month against him. Reddy was produced before the CBI Special Court this morning as his judicial remand came to an end today.
The Court also adjourned the hearing till the 14th June on the CBI petition seeking permission to carry out Narco tests on the Kadapa MP. Advocates of Jaganmohan Reddy have raised objections to carry out Narco tests on him. The CBI earlier interrogated the Kadapa MP for seven days in custody, reportedly over the flow of investments into his companies following the High Court directions.

In Andhra Pradesh, elaborate arrangements have been made for tomorrow’s bye-elections for Nellore Lok Sabha and 18 Assembly constituencies in the state. Over 46 lakh voters are expected to utilise their franchise at 5413 polling stations set up in 12 districts. A total 255 candidates are in the fray while all major political parties fielded their candidates in the bye-elections. About 140 companies of Central Armed Forces besides State Special Police forces have been deployed. About 50 thousand persons are attending polling duties.
Taking all possible measures to ensure free and fair bye-polls, the election authorities have put in place a number of restrictions on door-to-door campaign, distribution of voter slips and on bulk SMSs. For the first time, the Electoral Photo Identity Cards are being used as the only identity for Voters. The bye-election was necessitated following resignation of sitting MP and disqualification of the MLAs.

The Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Rajiv Shukla and senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani paid tributes to Mr. Hegde. The Secretaries General of Lok Sabha, T K Viswanathan and Dr V K Agnihotri also paid tributes to the former Speaker.
On this occasion, a booklet containing the profile of Hegde, brought out in Hindi and English by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, was also presented to the dignitaries. In Madhya Pradesh, with a view to stop delays in payment of wages to labourers under the Mahatama Gandhi National Rural Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), electronic fund management system of e-payment will be implemented soon in the entire state. Our Correspondent reports that under a pilot project in Gahal Gram Panchayat of Harda district, wages to labourers will be paid through e-payment by the end of this month.
E-payment system will end delays in payment of MNREGA wages. In electronic fund management system, a software will prepare list of payment to be made to labourers after feeding of information about works done by them in muster rolls. The list will be verified through digital signatures by payment in-charge of implementing agency including Gram Panchayat Secretary and Sarpanchs. The payment in-charge will post the list on the bank’s server through digital signatures. Within seconds, payment will be transferred to labourers’ bank accounts. State’s Panchayats and Rural Development Minister Gopal Bhargava has said that problem of lack of funds in Gram Panchayats for payment of wages to labourers will also come to an end after introduction of this system. Chief Election Commissioner, CEC, V S Sampath today said that national level consultations are on for early implementation of electoral reforms. Briefing the media after taking over as the 18th Chief Election Commissioner of India in New Delhi today, Mr. Sampath said, consultations were held by the Law Ministry and Election Commission in this regard. He said, as the new CEC, he would strive towards expediting electoral reforms.
The institute will be made stronger in its functioning and its doors will be wide open to all countries wanting to avail its services. The immediate task on hand is the conduct and completion of the elections to the high officers of the president and vice president of India.
Mr. Sampath said, the Commission is also engaged in the preparations for the forthcoming elections in the States of Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Tripura and Meghalaya. He said, the priorities for action set by him include clean electoral rolls, free registration for eligible persons and removal of ineligible persons from the voters list. He said, efforts woud continue to cleanse the electoral process from the influence of crime and money power. The new CEC said, illegal expenses bribery of voters in cash and kind will be checked.

Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra who is also the Chairman of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, is visiting Chandanwari and Nunwan base camps of Shri Amarnath Yatra today to review the snow clearance work on the two yatra tracks. He is later scheduled to chair a high level meeting of Divisional and district Administration to review the latest preparations being made for the timely commencement of the Yatra. The Annual Pilgrimage is scheduled to start on June 25 and will culminate on August 2, 2012, the day of Rakshabandhan.
While Government and Amarnath Shrine Board are making all out efforts and are working day and night to ensure that the yatra starts on time, the weather is hindering the snow clearance work. Since the track is having almost 18 feet snow at many places, the Shrine Board has deployed sufficient number of labour and machinery to clear the tracks.

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 164 points, or 1 per cent, to 16,883 in early trade, today, on sustained buying by funds and retail investors, amid a recovery in the rupee, and positive Asian markets. Later, in afternoon trade, the Sensex gave up some of its initial gains, but still stood 106 points, in the green, at 16,825, a short while ago. The Sensex has already rallied 754 points in the previous five trading sessions.

In early trade, the local currency resumed higher at 55 rupees 10 paise per dollar as against the last weekend's level of 55 rupees 42 paise. In Pakistan, at least six people were killed and over 40 others injured when a bomb exploded near a passenger bus in the south-west district of Mastung this morning. According to local media, a bomb targeted a passenger bus carrying over 50 people at the main highway in Mastung in Balochistan province. Tension is high in Myanmar's western Rakhine state after President Thein Sein imposed a state of emergency. A spate of violence involving Buddhists and Muslims in the past week, has left seven people dead and hundreds of properties damaged in the area. Trouble flared after the murder of a Buddhist woman last month, followed by an attack on a bus carrying Muslims.
State television said, a state of emergency imposed late last night, was in response to increasing unrest and terrorist attacks. In a televised speech, President Thein Sein said, the violence could put the country's moves towards democracy in danger. He said if that happens, the country's stability and peace, democratization process and development, which are in transition right now, could be severely affected.

British foreign secretary William Hague has described the situation in Syria as similar to Bosnia in the 1990s, and refused to rule out the option of military intervention. Mr Hague said, Syria is on the edge of a collapse or of a sectarian civil war, and nothing can be ruled out. Mr. Hague urged Moscow to use its influence over Damascus to get the violence stopped. He said, he welcomed in principle, the Russian proposal for an international conference on Syria.

Israel has broken its silence on the conflict in neighboring Syria and is condemning the violence there. The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says an axis of evil is behind the atrocities in Syria. Mr. Netanyahu told the Cabinet that Iran and the militant group Hezbollah in Lebanon are assisting the Syrian government in the massacre of civilians.
Israel was reluctant to take sides in the conflict because Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has kept a quiet border with Israel on the disputed Golan Heights. Israel fears that if the Assad regime is toppled, Islamic militants could take over. But in the wake of the massacres, Israeli leaders are now calling for regime change in Syria.President Shimon Peres said he respects the courage of the Syrian rebels and hopes they will win. Peres will discuss the Syria crisis with US President Barack Obama this week at the White House.

The World Bank has said that 82 million children under the age of five, are malnourished in South Asia. World Bank Country Manager for Nepal, Tahseen Sayed said that South Asia has the largest number of undernourished children in the world and malnourishment is a silent killer that rarely hits the headlines. She was addressing a two day workshop on nutrition for journalists in Kathmandu that began yesterday. Journalist from all the eight countries in South Asia are in Kathmandu this week to examine the impact of malnutrition on societies and how countries are trying to tackle the problem.

In France, exit polls suggest that President Francois Hollande's Socialists and their allies are set for a majority following the first round of voting in French legislative elections. The Socialists appear tied with the right-wing UMP party on about 35 per cent of the vote but the support of Green allies gives them closer to 40 per cent. The outcome of the polls is expected to determine the extent and pace of reform under the newly-elected French leader. France's 46 million eligible voters are picking representatives for 577 seats in the National Assembly.

In Iraq, at least six people were killed and 38 others injured in two mortar bomb attacks in a square filled with Shi'ite Muslim pilgrims in the capital Baghdad. The attack occurred in Quraish Square in Baghdad's north-western Kadhimiya district, where pilgrims were gathering ahead of a religious festival to mark the anniversary of the death of mediaeval Shi'ite imam Moussa al-Kadhim.

Two small earthquakes shook Afghanistan's mountainous Hindu Kush region today in the space of half an hour. According to the US Geological Survey, the first quake, with a magnitude of 5.4, struck at 9:32 am local time at a depth of 48 kilometres with the epicentre around 160 kilometres southwest of the town of Feyzabad. Around 25 minutes later, the second quake hit in almost exactly the same place, with a magnitude of 5.6 and a depth of 31 kilometres. Tremors were also felt in Kabul,. There were no immediate reports of any damage or casualties.

In Uttar Pradesh, Union Minister for Coal, Mr. Sriprakash Jaisawal today laid foundation stone for 1980 Mega Watt power plant at Ghatampur in Kanpur district. This power plant will be constructed under a joint venture of Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited. Addressing the function on the occasion, Mr. Jaiswal emphasized on better infrastructure development for industrialization and to address the issue of unemployment. He said, this project will be completed by 2016 and it will improve the power situation in the state.
He said it will be the biggest power plant in the state. He assured that farmers will be given adequate compensation for their land acquired for the plant. He also assured that local people would get priority in employment in the plant.
The Chief Minister of the state, Akhilesh Yadav who presided over the foundation laying ceremony said that power generation is one of the priorities of the state government. He urged the officials of the concerned departments to complete one of the three units of the plant by 2014.

Informing this in New Delhi, Joint Commissioner of Traffic police, Satyendra Garg said that within three months, the new infra-red speed cameras will replace the existing speed radar cameras that can only function during bright daylight.

उच्चतम न्यायालय ने केन्द्र को निर्देश दिया है कि वह नौकरियों और शिक्षण संस्थानों में ंअल्पसंख्यकों के लिए साढ़े चार प्रतिशत के उप कोटे के समर्थन में जरूरी दस्तावेज पेश करे। उच्चतम न्यायालय ने महाधिवक्ता जी ई वाहनवती से साढ़े चार प्रतिशत उपकोटा निर्धारित करने के बारे में कल तक जरूरी दस्तावेज+ पेश करने को कहा है। इस मामले की अगली सुनवाई के लिए बुधवार का दिन तय किया गया है। लेकिन उच्चतम न्यायालय द्वारा केन्द्र को कोई नोटिस जारी नहीं किया गया है।न्यायालय ने साढ़े चार प्रतिशत उप कोटे को रद्द करने के आंध्र प्रदेश उच्च न्यायालय के आदेश पर रोक लगाने से इंकार कर दिया है। न्यायमूर्ति के.. एस. राधाकृष्णन और जे. एस. खेहर की खंडपीठ ने पूछा है कि सरकार ने अल्पसंख्यकों के लिए साढ़े चार प्रतिशत का उपकोटा तय करने के लिए किस बात को आधार बनाया था।
केन्द्र ने अन्य पिछड़े वर्गो के लिए २७ प्रतिशत के कोटे में से अल्पसंख्यको के लिए साढे चार प्रतिशत के आरक्षण को रद्द करने के आंध्र प्रदेश उच्च न्यायालय के आदेश को उच्चतम न्यायालय में चुनौती दी थी।

सरकार ने चालू वित्त वर्ष में विकास दर साढ़े छह प्रतिशत से नीचे गिरने की खबरों को खारिज किया है। वित्तमंत्री प्रणव मुखर्जी ने आशा व्यक्त की है कि विकास दर सात प्रतिशत के आसपास रहेगी। वे आज नई दिल्ली में सीमा शुल्क, केन्द्रीय उत्पाद और सेवा कर के मुख्य आयुक्तों और महानिदशकों की बैठक में बोल रहे थे।उन्होंने कहा कालेधन की समस्या से कारगर ढंग से निपटने के लिए गठित समिति की रिपोर्ट पर विचार किया जा रहा है। श्री प्रणव मुखर्जी ने कहा कि कालेधन की समस्या पर काबू पाने के लिए पहले से ही कई उपाय किये गये हैं।

नागरिक उड्डयन मंत्री अजीत सिंह ने कहा है कि यह एयर इंडिया के प्रबंधन को तय करना है कि जब उसके हड़ताली विमान चालक काम पर नहीं आ रहे हैं तो कब तक उन्हें पे-रोल पर रहने दिया जाए। श्री अजीत सिंह ने आज नयी दिल्ली में कहा कि विमान चालक तीस दिन से अधिक समय से काम पर नहीं लौटे हैं इसलिए प्रबंधन को अब उनके खिलाफ कार्रवाई करनी चाहिए।यह एक गैर-कानूनी हड़ताल है। उन्होंने उच्च न्यायालय का आदेश भी नहीं माना। हमने उनसे बार-बार काम पर लौटने की अपील की है। अब जब वे काम पर नहीं लौट रहे हैं, और न ही उनका लौटने का कोई इरादा है, तो प्रबंधन को यह निर्णय लेना होगा कि वह कब तक इन्हें पे-रोल पर रख सकता है।

सरकार ने डेरी कंपनियों की माली हालत सुधारने और दुग्ध उत्पादकों की मदद के लिए आज चिकनाई निकले दूध पाउडर के निर्यात से प्रतिबंध हटा दिया है। इस महीने के शुरू में सरकार ने दूध की अतिरिक्त उपलब्धता को देखते हुए चिकनाई निकले दूध पाउडर पर लगे प्रतिबंध को हटाने का फैसला किया था। विदेश व्यापार महानिदेशालय ने एक अधिसूचना में कहा है कन्सन्ट्रेटिड या चीनी या मीठा मिला दूध और क्रीम तथा चिकनाई वाला दूध पाउडर, डेरी व्हाइटनर और शिशु दुग्ध आहार के निर्यात पर अभी भी प्रतिबंध है।

हैदराबाद की विशेष सी बी आई अदालत ने वाई एस आर कांगे्रस प्रमुख जगन मोहन रेड्डी की न्यायिक हिरासत अवधि दो हफ्ते के लिए बढ़ा दी है। उन्हें २७ मई को आय से अधिक संपत्ति के मामले में गिरफ्तार किया गया था। जांच एजेंसी ने जगन मोहन रेड्डी का नार्को टेस्ट करने के लिए अदालत से अनुमति मांगी है। सी बी आई के पुलिस अधीक्षक एच वेंकटेश ने कहा कि जांच एजेंसी जगन मोहन और विजय साई रेड्डी से आवश्यक जानकारी हासिल करने के लिए वैज्ञानिक तरीका अपनाना चाहती है।-----

सियाचिन पर भारत और पाकिस्तान के बीच आज रावलपिंडी में वार्ता शुरू हुई। दो दिन की यह वार्ता भारत और पाकिस्तान के बीच फिर से शुरू हुई वार्ता प्रक्रिया का एक हिस्सा है। भारतीय पक्ष का नेतृत्व रक्षा सचिव शशिकांत शर्मा कर रहे हैं, जबकि पाकिस्तानी पक्ष का नेतृत्व वहां की रक्षा सचिव नरगिस सेठी कर रही हैं।

युद्धविराम के उल्लंघन की एक और घटना में पाकिस्तानी सेना ने आज जम्मू-कश्मीर के पूंछ जिले में नियंत्रण रेखा के पास भारतीय चौकियों पर गोलीबारी की। सेना के एक प्रवक्ता ने बताया है कि पाकिस्तानी सेना ने आज दोपहर अपनी चौकियों से नियंत्रण रेखा पर भारत की तीन चौकियों पर गोलीबारी की। कुछ समय तक संयम बरतने के बाद भारतीय सेना ने जवाबी कार्रवाई की। लगभग आधे घंटे तक चली गोलीबारी में सीमा सुरक्षा बल का एक जवान घायल हो गया, जिसे कमांड अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया है। इससे पहले २२ मई की रात पाकिस्तानी सेना ने पूंछ जिले में सीमा पार से गोलीबारी की थी।-----

The Supreme Court today directed the Centre to produce documents supporting the subquota of 4.5 per cent for minorities in central government jobs and educational institutions. The apex court asked Attorney General G.E.Vahanvati to submit the documents tomorrow and posted the case for hearing on Wednesday. No notice was issued to the centre by the apex court.
The Court refused to stay the Andhra Pradesh High Court order quashing the 4.5 percent subquota. A bench comprising Justice K.S. Radhakrishnan and Justice J.S. Khehar wanted the government to clarify on what basis the sub-quota for minorities was arrived at.
The centre had moved the apex court challenging the Andhra Pradesh High Court order quashing the 4.5 per cent reservation for minorities within the 27 percent OBC quota.
Congress spokesperson, Manish Tiwari said, there was nothing unusual in the Supreme Court's refusal to stay the Andhra Pradesh High Court order.
In the courts of law, more often than not it happens that the bench, at times wants to satisfy itself. It tells either the petitioner or the government to produce more material. So therefore this is nothing unusual in a court proceeding. And nothing more should be read into it.
The BJP said that religion based reservation is unconstitutional and the party will not accept it. Talking to media persons in New Delhi, party spokesperson Nirmala Sitaraman alleged that the Congress is playing with the sentiments of the Minority. She said the government should focus on the issues of the common people.
The BJP demands that the Government focusses attention on issues which are affecting all citizens and in this particular case, we know its not a final verdict, we know its not end of the story on the appeal, but it just shows repeatedly that they are in a hurry only to keep up this agenda of appeasing minority.

The Government says it is examining the report of the committee to effectively deal with the menace of black money. The committee was constituted to look into the gaps in the legislative and administrative framework. Addressing Chief Commissioners and Directors General of the Central Board of Direct Taxes, Finance Minister, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee asserted that several measures are already in place to curb the menace of black money.
Income tax department has been striving to check the menace of the black money and tax evasion. Which eats into the vitals of the National Economy and also posses states to National Security through linkage of money laundering and terror financing.
Mr. Mukherjee said, the introduction of Benami transactions prohibition bill, 2011 will also help in dealing with the menace. Dismissing reports that growth rate will go below 6.5 per cent this fiscal, he expressed the hope that the economy will clock around 7 per cent growth. Mr. Mukherjee said, factors like reversal of interest rate cycle, turning around of mining sector growth and quarterly investment growth rate would help in achieving the target.

A CBI court today extended the judicial custody of Y.S.R. Congress Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy for two more weeks. He was arrested in a disproportionate assets case on the 27th of last month. The investigation agency had sought permission to carry out a lie detection test on him. The CBI Superintendent of Police H. Venkatesh said that the agency seeks indulgence of allowing the agency for using a scientific way for deriving information from Jagan and Vijaysai Reddy.

Chief Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML), V.R.S. Natarajan has been suspended by the government. A Ministry of Defence statement said, the move follows a recommendation by the CBI that he be kept away from the post to ensure fair investigation into the charges against him. Mr. P. Dwarkanath, the senior most functional Director in BEML, has been given the charge of CMD.
Meanwhile, the CBI today received the Centre's nod to probe the alleged role of suspended BEML Chairman in connection with alleged irregularities in the supply of Tatra all-terrain vehicle to the Army.

Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh has said that it is up to the Air India management to decide for how long to keep striking pilots on their pay-roll when they are not working. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, Mr Singh said, it is for the management to take action now, since the pilots have not reported for work for more than 30 days.

The India and Pakistan talks on Siachen began today at Rawalpindi. The two-day talks on the issue are part of the resumed dialogue process between India and Pakistan. The Indian delegation is led by Defence Secretary Shashikant Sharma while the Pakistani side is headed by his counterpart Nargis Sethi. Ahead of the talks, Defence Minister A K Antony cautioned against expecting any breakthrough at the meeting of the Defence Secretaries. He said that India has a clear-cut position on the Siachen issue which the Defence Secretary will explain to the Pakistani side during the talks. India has called on Pakistan to authenticate and demarcate the 110-kilometre Actual Ground Position Line on the Siachen glacier. Pakistan wants India to pull back troops to the positions in 1984.

In yet another incident of ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops fired at Indian posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district today. According to the defence Spokesman, Pakistani troops resorted to small arms firing on Kripan-I, Kripan-II and Kranti posts along the LoC in the district at around 12:00 hours today from their Dakoo and Chuha posts.
After exercising restraint for some time, the Indian troops retaliated . The exchange of fire continued for half an hour in which one BSF jawan, identified as P K Mishra, received gunshot wounds. He was referred to the Command Hospital for treatment.

The government today lifted the ban on export of skimmed milk powder, SMP, to improve the finances of dairy firms and help milk producers. Earlier this month, the government had decided to lift the export ban on SMP amid surplus availability of milk.
Directorate General of Foreign Trade said in a notification that the classifications of export and import items has been bifurcated and export of the new entry namely skimmed milk powder has been made free. The notification, however, said, export of milk and cream, concentrated or containing added sugar or other sweetening matter is still prohibited.

Snapping a five day rally, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange dropped 51 points, or 0.3 percent, to 16,668, today, on profit-booking by investors, and after rating agency, Standard & Poor’s cautioned that India could lose its investment grade rating. The Sensex had gained over 750 points in the last five trading sessions. The Nifty fell 14 points, to 5,054. The rupee depreciated 32 paise, to 55.74 against the dollar. Gold rose 50 rupees, to 29,955 rupees per ten grams in Delhi. Silver gained 450 rupees, to 55,100 rupees per kilo. The government has said that it will introduce the Companies bill 2011 in the forthcoming monsoon session of Parliament. After releasing a book on Innovative March to New Horizon of Corporate Growth in New Delhi today, Corporate Affairs Minister M. Veerappa Moily told reporters that the Bill as introduced in the Lok Sabha in a revised form in late 2011 is still with the Parliamentary Committee on Finance.
Apparently the Committee was not able to finalise their recommendations in time and the government hopes that it will table the bill at the very beginning of the Monsoon session. Giving the details of his ministry's achievement, Mr. Moily said that his ministry was seeking approval of the Cabinet to introduce Competition (Amendment) Bill 2012. The Cabinet has decided to refer the pertinent issues for consideration by the Group of Ministers.

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has said that the Government is fully seized of the current situation and he is confident that there will be a turnaround in India’s growth prospects in the coming months. Mr Mukherjee was reacting to the S&P recent report suggesting that India could be the first BRIC country to falter.
The Minister said that this is not based on a fresh rating action. S&P had issued India’s sovereign credit rating on April 25, 2012 reaffirming India’s long-term sovereign credit rating at BBB(-). It had, however, revised India’s outlook to negative from stable.

The annual Amarnath pilgrimage - 2012 will start on the scheduled date 25th of this month. All out efforts are being made to put all the arrangements in place by June 20 for the smooth conduct of the yatra. This was stated by Jammu and Kashmir Governor, N.N. Vohra, who is also the Chairman of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, after visiting Chandanwari and Nunwan base camps of Shri Amarnath Yatra to review the snow clearance work on the two yatra tracks. Later chairing a high level meeting of Divisional and District Administration at Nunwan base camp, the Governor reviewed the latest preparations being made for the timely commencement of the Yatra.
A home ministry statement said in New Delhi that the Centre is constantly monitoring the commencement of the annual pilgrimage.

The Social Justice Ministry is implementing a scheme of National Overseas Scholarship for Scheduled Caste and others candidates. Under the scheme, a total of 30 awards are available including two awards for the denotified, nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes.
