केन्द्रीय मंत्री कपिल सिब्बल ने संवाददाताओं को बताया कि प्रस्तावित विधेयक का मसौदा तैयार करने के लिए दस सदस्यों की एक संयुक्त समिति बनाई जाएगी। ये विधेयक संसद के मॉनसून सत्र में लाया जाएगा। इस बारे में एक आदेश जारी किया जा रहा है। वित्त मंत्री प्रणब मुखर्जी की अध्यक्षता में इस समिति में कानून मंत्री वीरप्पा मोइली, दूरसंचार मंत्री कपिल सिब्बल, गृह मंत्री पी० चिदम्बरम और जल संसाधन मंत्री सलमान खुर्शीद शामिल होंगे।
वरिष्ठ वकील शांतिभूषण इस समिति के सहअध्यक्ष होंगे। समिति में अन्ना हजारे के अलावा प्रमुख वकील प्रशांत भूषण, उच्चतम न्यायालय के सेवानिवृत्त न्यायाधीश संतोष हेगड़े और आर०टी०आई० कार्यकर्ता अरविंद केजरीवाल भी होंगे।
प्रधानमंत्री डॉ० मनमोहन सिंह ने कल सुबह से ही इस मसले को निपटाने की कोशिशें तेज कर दी थीं। उन्होंने कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी, उनके राजनीतिक सचिव अहमद पटेल, कपिल सिब्बल और प्रणब मुखर्जी से विचार विमर्श किया। अन्ना हजारे द्वारा १३ अपै्रल से जेल भरो आंदोलन की घोषणा किए जाने के बाद उन्होंने वरिष्ठ नेताओं के साथ दूसरे दौर की बातचीत की। प्रधानमंत्री ने यह मसला सुलझाने के प्रयासों के बारे में राष्ट्रपति प्रतिभा देवीसिंह पाटील को भी जानकारी दी। हमारे संवाददाता ने इसे लोकतंत्र की विजय बताया है।
उच्चतम न्यायालय ने यह भी कहा है कि वह सभी न्यायालयों पर इस मामले से संबंधित किसी याचिका को स्वीकार करने पर रोक लगाएगा और ऐसे सभी मामले केवल उच्चतम न्यायालय में ही दायर करने होंगे।
कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी ने लोगों से विघटनकारी ताकतों से सचेत रहने को कहा है। गुवाहाटी में कल एक रैली में उन्होंने राज्य में बांग्लादेशियों को वोट बैंक के रूप में इस्तेमाल करने के भाजपा के आरोपों का खंडन किया।

उच्चतम न्यायालय, टू-जी स्पैक्ट्रम आवंटन के अभियुक्तों के मामलों की सुनवाई के लिए गठित विशेष अदालतों को निर्देश देगा कि वे रोज+ सुनवाई करें। न्यायमूर्ति जी एस सिंघवी और न्यायमूर्ति ए के गांगुली की पीठ ने कहा है कि इसका औपचारिक आदेश सोमवार को जारी किया जाएगा। न्यायालय ने यह भी संकेत दिया कि वह सुनवाई में अदालत की सहायता के लिए उदय ललित को विशेष सरकारी वकील नियुक्त करेगा। इस नियुक्ति पर केन्द्र सरकार की आपत्तियों को दरकिनार करते हुए पीठ ने ऐसा संकेत दिया है।उच्चतम न्यायालय ने यह भी कहा है कि वह सभी न्यायालयों पर इस मामले से संबंधित किसी याचिका को स्वीकार करने पर रोक लगाएगा और ऐसे सभी मामले केवल उच्चतम न्यायालय में ही दायर करने होंगे।

An announcement to this effect was made by Mr. Anna Hazare at Jantar Mantar, in New Delhi last night. Talking to reporters The Jubillant anti-corruption crusader said that the Government agreed to enact Lokpal Bill. This is a win of common people all over India.

The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh stepped up efforts to resolve the issue since yesterday morning. Dr. Singh held discussions with Congress President Sonia Gandhi, her political secretary Ahmad Patel, Kapil Sibal and Pranab Mukherjee. It has also a message for the political parties across the board to ponder over their credibility as people in these rallies have shown little regard for them that the world of caution for those who take up the issues of public concern that while pressing for any demand there has to be regard empowerment and constitution. After all all laws have to be enacted by this temple of democracy. We that as it may one thing is clear that an effect to law to deal with the menace of corruption will finally become a reality. The Supreme Court is to direct the special court, set up exclusively for trying various 2G spectrum scam accused, to hold day-to-day trial without any adjournment. A bench of Justices G S Singhvi and A K Ganguly said, it will pass a formal order on this issue on Monday. The court said, it will also pass an order on the same day for the appointment of senior advocate, U U Lalit, as special public prosecutor for holding the trial in the 2G spectrum case. It turned down the Centre's plea seeking one week's time to come out with an alternate name. Earlier, the Centre had objected to the appointment of Mr. Lalit, saying he did not meet the eligibility criteria for the task.

Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram said, talks with three militant groups of Assam are in the final stage. The groups include, United People’s Democratic Solidarity, Dima Halam Daogah (DHD) and Dima Halam Daogah (Jewal). He said that the draft accord papers with these banned groups are nearly completed. Addressing a press conference at Guwahati, Mr. Chidambaram said, violent incidents in the State have come down remarkably due to the firm and fair stand initiated by the Government.

Gorkha National Liberation Front, GNLF, Supremo Subhash Ghisingh has returned to Darjeeling hills after almost three years. Our Correspondent reports that the fate of 38 candidates including three GNLF candidates in Darjeeling district will be decided in the first phase polls slated for the 18th of this month.
Campaigning is expected to be picked up from today in six North Bengal districts where first phase of election are scheduled to be held in the next week following relaxation on ban on use of microphones by the Kolkata High Court. Altogether 364 candidates are in the fray for this phase of election. Over 97 lakh electorates are eligible to cast their franchise. 28 general observers and nine expenditure observers have already arrived in these districts to monitor the election process.

In Uttar Pradesh main opposition Samajwadi Party has released the first list of 162 candidates for next year's State Assembly elections. A party spokes person told our Lucknow correspondent that 39 sitting MLAs have been included in the first list and 63 new candidates have been given ticket. In Iraq, at least 10 people were killed in pre-dawn clashes today as security forces raided the settlement of an Iranian exile group that the government has long tried to oust. Officials said tensions boiled over this week when the Iraqi army moved fresh troops near Camp Ashraf, prompting its residents to pelt soldiers with stones and throw themselves in front of military trucks. The group claimed that 31 residents were killed but the Iraqi general who ordered the raid denied that anybody had died. US and UN observers were unable to independently verify any casualties but two officials at the hospital in Baqouba said 10 exiles were killed and 39 wounded in the clashes.
