भारत, आज सुबह अन्तर महाद्वीपीय बैलेस्टिक मिसाइल अग्नि-५ का परीक्षण कर सकता है।  दस बजे से पहले ओड़ीशा के व्हीलर   द्वीप में धामरा समन्वित परीक्षण रेंज से  किसी भी समय इस मिसाइल का परीक्षण हो सकता है। कल खराब मौसम के कारण इसे स्थगित कर दिया गया था।  अगर ये परीक्षण सफल रहा तो भारत भी अमरीका, रूस, फ्रांस और चीन जैसे देशों की कतार में शामिल हो जाएगा। यह मिसाइल पांच हजार किलोमीटर तक मार कर सकती है। इस मिसाइल से भारत समूचे एशिया और यूरोप के बहुत से हिस्सों को निशाना बना सकेगा।पचास टन ठोस ईंधन से संचालित १७ मीटर लम्बी इस मिसाइल को पांच हजार किलोमीटर की पूरी दूरी तक छोड़+े जाने की संभावना है।  भारत  तब से इसकी जरूरत महसूस कर रहा है जब से चीन ने तिब्बत और शिनचियांग स्वायत्त क्षेत्र में मिसाइलों की तैनाती की है और वह इस क्षेत्र में अपनी थल सेना की क्षमता बढ़ा रहा है।

अमरीका ने परमाणु अप्रसार की दिशा में भारत के रिकॉर्ड को विश्वसनीय करार देते हुए उसकी परमाणु क्षमता वाली अन्तर महाद्वीपीय बैलेस्टिक मिसाइल के परीक्षण पर किसी भी तरह की चिंता जाहिर करने से इनकार किया है। अमरीकी विदेश विभाग के प्रवक्ता मार्क टोनर ने कहा कि परमाणु अप्रसार के क्षेत्र में भारत का रिकॉर्ड बेहतर रहा है और वह इससे जुड़े मसलों पर अंतर्राष्ट्रीय समुदाय के संपर्क में भी रहा है।

ओड़िशा में माओवादियों ने कहा है कि बीजू जनता दल के अपहृत विधायक झिना हिकाका के बारे में फैसला आज जन अदालत में किया जाएगा। यह जन अदालत ही तय करेगी कि श्री हिकाका को छोड़ा जाए या नहीं। सीपीआई की आंध्र ओड़िशा बार्डर स्पेशल जोनल कमेटी ने २४ मार्च से श्री हिकाका को बंधक बनाया हुआ है। समिति ने धमकी दी थी कि अगर सीपीआई माओवादी और चासी मुलिया आदिवासी संघ के सभी २९ कैदियों को रिहा नहीं किया गया और उन पर  मुकदमें वापिस न लिये गए तो कड़ी कार्रवाई की जाएगी। मांगें पूरी करने के लिए ओड़िशा सरकार को दी गई मियाद कल शाम समाप्त हो गई। माओवादियों ने यह समय सीमा और आगे बढ़ाने के लिए इंकार कर दिया है।  राज्य सरकार ने पांच माओवादियों सहित १३ कैदियों पर मुकदमें वापिस लेने के कदम उठाने का फैसला किया है।

इस बीच उच्चतम न्यायालय में आज उस याचिका की सुनवाई होगी, जिसमें ओडीशा सरकार को माओवादियों को जेल से छोड़ने से रोकने के निर्देश देने की मांग की गई है।अवकाशप्राप्त मेजर जनरल गंगुरदीप बक्शी ने याचिका में कहा है कि राज्य सरकार को नक्सलियों को छोड़ने से रोका जाना चाहिए क्योंकि इन्हें सुरक्षा बलों ने अपनी जान जोखिम में डालकर  पकड़ा है।

पंजाब के जालंधर शहर में रविवार को गिरी एक तिमंजिला इमारत के मलबे से एक युवक को कल ७२ घंटे बाद जिन्दा निकाला गया। कम्बल बनाने की इस फैक्टरी से अभी तक कुल ६२ मजदूर बचाये जा सके हैं। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया है कि मलबा हटाने के लिए भारी मशीनरी का इस्तेमाल अब बड़े ध्यान से किया जा रहा है।

हादसा ग्रस्त बिल्डिंग के अंदर लाशे दबी होने से उसके आस-पास बदबू आने आनी शुरू हो गई है। राष्ट्रीय आपदा कार्रवाई बल के अधिकारी ने बताया कि वह ऊपर से मलबे में मोरियां कर नीची पहली मंजिल तक रास्ता बनाने में कामयाब हो गए हैं, जहां और भी शव बिखरे पड़े हैं। बुल्डोजरों की सहायता से मलबे का एक चौथाई हिस्सा साफ कर दिया गया है, परंतु ७२ घंटों बाद भी एक व्यक्ति के जीवित बाहर निकाले जाने के बाद भारी मशीनों के इस्तेमाल में सावधानी बरती जा रही है। राजेश बाली आकाशवाणी समाचार, जालंधर।

सरकार मौजूदा विपणन वर्ष में चीनी के अधिक निर्यात की अनुमति देने पर विचार करेगी। खाद्य और उपभोक्ता मामलों के मंत्री के.वी थॉमस ने कल नई दिल्ली में कहा कि अधिकार प्राप्त मंत्रियों के दल की अगली बैठक में विचार किया जायेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि चीनी के पर्याप्त उत्पादन को देखते हुए ये फैसला किया गया है।

पृथ्वी विज्ञान मंत्रालय ने कहा है कि इस वर्ष देश में मॉनसून के सामान्य होने की संभावना है। सूखे जैसी किसी स्थिति को खारिज करते हुए कहा गया है कि इस वर्ष देश में मॉनसून के सामान्य रहने की आशा है। पिछले वर्ष की तरह इस वर्ष भी मॉनसून के सामान्य होने के सभी संकेत हैं। इस वर्ष प्रतिकूल वातावरण या सामुद्रिक स्थिति सामान्य मॉनसून में बाधक नहीं हो सकती। जून से सितम्बर के दौरान मॉनसून कृषि उत्पादन और आर्थिक वृद्धि के लिए बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है, जिससे देश की कृषि भूमि के लगभग साठ प्रतिशत हिस्से को पानी मिलता है।

अफ़गानिस्तान के बदख्शा प्रांत में कमांडर सहित ३० तालिबान विद्रोहियों ने कल अधिकाारियों के सामने हथियार डाले।  इन तालिबानियों ने प्रांत के शहर-ए-बुजर्द जिले में समर्पण किया है। ये जि+ले सरकार विरोधी गतिविधियों में लिप्त थे।
एक अन्य घटना में पूर्वी नंगरहर प्रांत के खोगयानी जिले में नैटो के हवाई हमले में दो कमान्डरों सहित १० विद्रोही मारे गए। इस हमले में एक कमान्डर सहित ४ अन्य घायल हो गए।  हवाई हमलें में किसी नागरिक के हताहत होने का समाचार नहीं है।

ब्रिटेन ने कहा है कि अफगानिस्तान से अपनी सेना की वापसी के बाद वह उसके सुरक्षा बलों की सहायता के लिए हर साल ११ करोड़ २० लाख डॉलर की मदद देगा। ब्रिटेन के विदेश मंत्री फिलिप हेमेंड ने यह टिप्पणी ब्रसेल्स में की जहां अफगानिस्तान के संबंध में नेटो की बैठक हो रही है।अमरीका ने भी भरोसा दिलाया है कि उसके सैनिकों की वापसी के बाद अफगानिस्तान को उसके हाल पर नहीं छोड़ा जाएगा।बैठक के दौरान अमरीकी विदेश मंत्री हिलेरी क्लिंटन ने आश्वासन दिया कि अफगानिस्तान के सुरक्षा बलों को पर्याप्त धन दिया जाएगा।ब्रसेल्स में चल रही दो दिन की बैठक में यह फैसला किया जाना है कि २०१४ के अंत में अफगानिस्तान से नेटो सेनाओं की वापसी के बाद सुरक्षा बलों के लिए धन कैसे मुहैया कराया जाए।अफगानिस्तान की सेना धीरे-धीरे सुरक्षा की जिम्मेदारी अपने हाथ में ले रही है।

पाकिस्तान के सेना प्रमुख जनरल अशफाक परवेज+ कयानी ने कहा है कि भारत और पाकिस्तान को अपनी जनता के विकास के हित में  सियाचिन सहित सभी मुद्दे सुलझा लेने चाहिए।  जनरल कयानी ने कहा कि सियाचिन भारत और पाकिस्तान दोनों के लिए कठिन मोर्चा है इसलिए दोनों देशों को वहां से सेना वापस बुला लेनी चाहिए।जनरल कयानी ने यह बात सियाचिन में गयारी सेक्टर का दौरा करने के बाद स्कार्दू में पत्रकारों से कही। उस समय उनके साथ पाकिस्तान के राष्ट्रपति आसिफ अली ज+रदारी और गृहमंत्री ंरहमान मलिक भी वहां मौजूद थे। राष्ट्रपति जरदारी और जनरल कयानी गयारी सैक्टर में सात अप्रैल को हिमस्खलन में दबे पाकिस्तानी सैनिकों को निकालने के अभियान का निरीक्षण करने गए थे।इस घटना में पाकिस्तान के एक सौ तीस से अधिक सैनिक बर्फ में दब गए।

विश्व के नवीनतम देश दक्षिण सूडान ने कल विश्वबैंक और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मुद्राकोष की सदस्यता ग्रहण कर ली। सूडान के साथ दो दशकों तक चली लड़ाई के बाद जुलाई में आजाद हुआ  दक्षिणी सूडान मुद्राकोष का १८८ वां सदस्य बना है। वित्तमंत्री कोस्ती मनिबे नगाई ने मुद्राकोष और विश्वबैंक के साथ समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए।

लोकसभा में विपक्ष की नेता सुषमा स्वराज की अगुवाई में विभिन्न पार्टियों के १२ सांसदों का शिष्टमंडल आज जाफना के निकट कनकेसनतुरई में भारत की मदद से मलबा हटाने के काम का मुआयना करेगा।कल इस शिष्टमंडल ने जाफना के निकट प्रदेसिया सभा के सदस्यों, क्षेत्र के सांसदों, सिविल सोसायटी और सामुदायिक नेताओं के साथ बातचीत की।  शिष्टमंडल ने कल शिविरों में रहने वाले विस्थापितों की समस्याएं सुनी। श्रीलंका सरकार ने शिष्टमंडल को बताया कि यह मैनिक फार्म शिविर  दो महीने में बंद कर दिया जाएगा, क्योंकि सरकार को उम्मीद है कि बचे  विस्थापितों का भी तब तक पुनर्वास हो जाएगा।

हियर  द वर्ल्ड फाउन्डेशन ने शारीरिक रूप से अक्षम १४ खिलाड़ियों को कल सुनने की मशीनें मुफ्‌त बांटी , जिन्होंने विशेष ओलंपिक विश्व ग्रीष्मकालीन  खेलों में पदक जीते थे। यह खेल पिछले साल एथेंस में आयोजित किये गए थे। हर खिलाड़ी को सुनने की दो मशीनें दी गई जिनमें से प्रत्येक की कीमत लगभग १ लाख ६० हज+ार रूपये है।

जनसत्ता की खबर है- आदर्श भूमि पर दावे के लिए अदालत जाएगा रक्षा मंत्रालय। उधर विवादास्पद जमीन पर न्यायिक आयोग के निष्कर्ष के बाद नवभारत टाइम्स का कहना है कि हर विवाद के मामले में गणित का नियम लागू नहीं किया जा सकता। कभी राहत वाला केस शिकंजे में आ फंसता है तो कभी शिकंजे वाले को राहत मिल जाती है।

India has launched successfully its firsts Inter Continental Ballistic Missile, ICBM Agni-5. The missile was launched from the Integrated Test Range in Wheeler Island, off the Odisha coast, a shortwhile ago. The test-firing of Agni-5 was put off yesterday due to bad weather. India will join the elite club of nations having ICBM with the scheduled test launching of the 5,000 km-range Agni-5 missile.
This test-firing of the Agni-5 catapult India to a hyper-exclusive club that now counts only the United States of America, Russia, France and China as members. India will also have the capability of targeting all of Asia, including the northernmost parts of China and large parts of Europe as well.
Describing India's non-proliferation record as solid, the US has refused to express any concern on the country's nuclear-capable Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile launch. The State Department spokesperson, Mark Toner told reporters at a news conference in Washington yesterday that India has a solid non-proliferation record and the country is engaged with the international community on non- proliferation issues.

In Odisha, Maoists have said, the fate of abducted Biju Janata Dal MLA, Jhina Hikaka, will be decided in the 'People's Court' today. The People's Court of the Maoists will decide if the MLA should be freed or not. The Andhra- Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee of the CPI (Maoist), holding the MLA hostage since the 24th of last month, has already warned extreme action against Hikaka if all the 29 prisoners belonging to the Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh and CPI (Maoist) are not freed and cases against them are not withdrawn. The deadline given to the Odisha Government for fulfillment of the demands, had ended yesterday evening. The Maoists have decided not to extend the deadline further. The Maoists also made it clear that they do not have faith on the assurances of the state government.
Meanwhile, the Odisha Government has decided to take steps for withdrawal of prosecution against 13 prisoners including 5 Maoists. Odisha Home Secretary Upendra Nath Behera told media-persons at Bhubaneswar that the government will also consider withdrawal of prosecution in other suitable cases, if the abductors release the MLA immediately. He said, four prisoners have already been freed on bail and efforts are being made for the release of another 21 prisoners on bail. The state government is eagerly awaiting a response from the Maoists after making this new announcement.
Meanwhile, a retired Army officer approached the Supreme Court yesterday to restrain the Odisha government from meeting the Maoists' demands.    Retired Major General Gangurdep Bakshi pleaded with the apex court that the state government should be restrained from releasing the Naxals as they were captured by security forces, which had to put their lives at stake to nab them. The apex court further said it would require the help of the Centre's law officer in the matter and listed the matter for hearing today.

The CBI carried out searches in Delhi and the National Capital Region yesterday in connection with the TATRA case. Reports say some important documents have been recovered.  The investigating agency carried out searches at the residences of two retired Army Officers and a senior Executive of the VECTRA Group. The CBI registered a case yesterday for alleged irregularities in the supply of TATRA trucks to the Army through state owned company BEML. The investigation agency is probing the Army Chief Gen. V.K. Singh's allegation of having been offered a bribe.

In Punjab, the rescue teams have rescued another victim after more than 72 hours of the building collapse in Jalandhar, in the wee hours today. The number of persons saved in the incident, has reached 62 while there have been nine casualties.
Our Jalandhar Correspondent reports that on the other hand, the situation on the first floor of the three-storied building seems to be quite grim.
"NDRF officer leading the rescue along with Army has told that they have been able to make vertical approach by making holes in the debris and have found more bodies lying under the at the ground floor. As more than one fourth of the debris have been removed with the help of bulldozers, the rescue teams are now going slow with heavy machines after founding live victims even after more than seventy hours. Thirty Taliban insurgents including their commander have renounced violence in Afghanistan’s north-eastern Badakshan province and surrendered before the authorities yesterday. Media reports quoting a local police official said the insurgents surrendered in Shahr-e-Buzard district of the province. They were involved in anti-government activities in the district.
In another incident at least ten insurgents, including their two commanders, were killed in a NATO air strike in Khogyani district of eastern Nangarhar province yesterday night. Officials said four others, including one commander were wounded in the attack. There were no civilian casualties in the air strike.

Pakistan's Army Chief, General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani has called for the demilitarisation of the Siachen glacier area  in the Himalayas, an area known as the world's highest battlefield.  Mr. Kayani urged Pakistan and India to resolve their territorial dispute in Siachen, as it was a difficult battlefield for both. General Kayani was speaking after visiting an army base near the glacier where an avalanche killed more than one hundred and thirty Pakistan soldiers, about a week ago. General Kayani said this in the presence of Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and Home Minister Rehman Malik who were there to inspect the rescue operation to evacuate the soldiers.

The 12-member multi-party Indian Parliamentary delegation led by the Opposition leader Sushma Swaraj, will today see the wreckage removal work at the Kankesanthurai harbor near Jaffna in Sri Lanka, which has been completed with the help of Indian assistance.
The delegation met the Pradesiya Sabha members, Parliamentarians of the region, civil society and community leaders of Jaffna yesterday.
"The issue of de militarization of the Northern Province , the removal of the High Security Zones for the people to get resettled at their original places and more funding to the Pradeshiya Sabha or the local government were some of the concerns voiced at a meeting last evening. Today the 12 member delegation will also travel to Kalutara in the west where railway tracks are being upgraded with Indian assistance. Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Al Muallem has said the contingent of 250 UN Observers is sufficient to monitor the ceasefire in
Syria. At a press conference in Beijing yesterday, he said the observers should come from neutral countries such as Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The statement has come at a time when U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is due to present proposals for the next phase of the mission to the Security Council. Ban has said more monitors are needed for supervision of the ceasefire in Syria. He has asked the European Union for helicopters and planes to make the monitoring mission quick and mobile, but Muallem said Syria would supply air transport if necessary. Ban said that the ceasefire was being generally observed, though there was still some violence taking place. An advance team of six UN peacekeepers led by Colonel Ahmed Himmiche of Morocco, toured towns near Damascus yesterday. Opposition activists claimed that Syrian troops pounded civilians in Homs, Darra and Idlib. The state news agency SANA reported that 10 members of the security forces and a civilian in northern Syria were killed in two separate roadside bomb explosions. It said six soldiers were killed and 11 wounded in a blast in the village of Mastouma in Idlib province. भारत ने परमाणु हथियार ले जाने में सक्षम अंतर-महाद्वीपीय बैलिस्टिक मिसाइल अग्नि-पांच का सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण कर इस दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम बढ़ाया है। इसकी मारक क्षमता पांच हजार किलोमीटर है। जमीन से जमीन पर मार करने वाली इस मिसाइल का परीक्षण आज सुबह ओडिशा तट के पास व्हिलर द्वीप से एक चलते फिरते प्लेटफार्म से किया गया।

१७ दशमलव पांच मीटर लंबी और दो मीटर चौड़ी तथा लगभग पचास टन की इस मिसाइल को जब छोड़ा गया तो यह नारंगी रंग का घुंआ छोड़ते हुए आकाश में तेजी से बढ़ा। इस पर लगभग डेढ़ टन के नकली हथियार भी थे। हिंद महासागर में पांच हजार किलोमीटर दूर लक्ष्य को बेधने के लिये मिसाइल वायु मंडल में प्रवेश करने से पहले छह सौ मीटर की ऊंचाई पर पहुंची। यह अत्याधुनिक मिसाइल एक टन से अधिक भार का परमाणु हथियार ले जाने में सक्षम है।

भारत इस तरह की मिसाइल रखने वाले अमरीका, चीन, रूस और फ्रांस जैसे चुनिन्दा देशों में शामिल हो गया है। राष्ट्रपति, उप राष्ट्रपति, प्रधानमंत्री और रक्षा मंत्री ने अग्नि-५ के सफल परीक्षण पर डी.आर.डी.ओ. के वैज्ञानिकों तथा तकनीशियनों को बधाई दी है। डॉ० मनमोहन सिंह ने अपने संदेश में कहा कि राष्ट्र इस गौरवशाली सफलता के अवसर पर वैज्ञानिक समुदाय के साथ है।

अग्नि-५ के प्रक्षेपण के साथ भारत एक बड़ी मिसाइल शक्ति के रूप में उभरा है और यह उन छह देशों के समूह में शामिल हो गया है, जिनके पास इस प्रकार की मिसाइलों को डिजाइन करने, इनका विकास करने, निर्माण करने की क्षमता है और साथ ही रक्षा क्षेत्र में सामरिक क्षमता भी है।

उत्तर प्रदेश में गाजियाबाद की विशेष सी बी आई अदालत ने राष्ट्रीय ग्रामीण स्वास्थ्य मिशन घोटाले  में पूर्व परिवार कल्याण महानिदेशक एस पी राम की जमानत अर्जी आज खारिज कर दी। हालांकि अदालत ने राज्य औद्योगिक विकास निगम के प्रबंध निदेशक अभय कुमार वाजपेयी को अंतरिम जमानत दे दी। वाजपेयी जमानत पाने वाले इस मामले के पहले आरोपी हैं। उन्हें छह जनवरी को दिल्ली में सी बी आई ने गिरफ्‌तार किया था। विशेष जज ए. के. सिंह ने एस पी राम की जमानत अर्जी खारिज करते हुए कहा कि उनके खिलाफ लगाये गये आरोप गंभीर हैं और वे जमानत पर छूटने के बाद गवाहों को प्रभावित कर सकते हैं।

सी बी आई ने कल नागपुर में प्रवासी भारतीयों के खातों से गलत ढंग से  एक करोड़ ३५ लाख रूपये निकालने के आरोप में भारतीय स्टेट बैंक के तीन अधिकारियों को गिरफ्‌तार किया है। इनमें कथित मुख्य साजिशकर्ता और एन आर आई प्रभाग के प्रभारी अनूप राजकुमार, उप-प्रबंधक प्रकाश भालकर और वरिष्ठ एक्जीक्यूटिव ममता मोटवानी शामिल हैं।

सीबीआई ने सलाहकार फर्म को अनुबंधित करने के लिए निविदा प्रक्रिया में कथित अनियमितताओं के सिलसिले में भारत अर्थ मूवर्स लिमिटेड के अध्यक्ष वी आर एस नटराजन के निवास सहित अनेक स्थानों पर आज छापे मारे। सीबीआई सूत्रों ने कहा है कि सीबीआई के अधिकारी आज तड़के नटराजन के निवास पर पहुंचे और उन्होंने इस मामले से संबंधित कुछ दस्तावेज बरामद किये। सूत्रों ने बताया कि बंगलौर और कोयम्बटूर में कई स्थानों पर छापे मारे गए।

ओड़ीशा में जेल में बंद माओवादी घासी ने अपने सहयोगियों से बीजू जनता दल विधायक झिना हिकाका को मानवीय आधार पर बगैर देरी किये रिहा करने की अपील की है।

मुख्यमंत्री नवीन पटनायक विधायक को सुरक्षित रिहा करने के लिए माओवादियों से कई बार अपील कर चुके हैं। राज्य सरकार विधायक की रिहाई सुनिश्चित करने के लिए पांच माओवादियों सहित तेरह कैदियों के    खिलाफ मुकदमे वापस लेने की पहले ही घोषणा कर चुकी है। ओडिशा के गृह सचिव उपेन्द्र नाथ बेहरा ने बताया  कि चासी मुलिया आदिवासी संघ के सात सदस्यों ने जमानत के लिए अर्जी दी है, जिनमें से पांच को जमानत दे दी गयी है।

इस बीच, राज्य के मुख्यमंत्री नवीन पटनायक ने कहा कि उच्चतम न्यायालय ने बीजू जनता दल विधायक झिना हिकाका की रिहाई के बदले में बड़े माओवादियों की जमानत कराने के राज्य सरकार के फैसले पर कोई रोक नहीं लगाई है। आज भुवनेश्वर में संवाददाताओं से बातचीत में उन्होंने संकेत दिया कि राज्य सरकार विधायक की रिहाई के लिए कुछ माओवादियों के  खिलाफ मुकदमे वापस लेने और रिहाई कराने के अपने फैसले में कोई बदलाव नहीं लायेगी। राज्य के मुख्य सचिव विजय कुमार पटनायक ने कहा कि राज्य सरकार को अभी तक उच्चतम न्यायालय का आदेश प्राप्त नहीं हुआ है। आदेश मिलने पर आगे की कार्रवाई की जायेगी।

बिहार में सारण जिले के दरियापुर पुलिस थाना क्षे+त्र से आज दो वांछित माओवादियों को गिरफ्‌तार किया गया। पुलिस सूत्रों ने बताया कि उनके पास से एक पिस्तौल तथा १८ कारतूस बरामद किये गये। दोनों ने १४ अप्रैल को नयागांव में एक निजी सड़क निर्माण कंपनी के पांच वाहन जलाने की घटना में शामिल होने की बात स्वीकार की है।

भारतीय जनता पार्टी ने पूर्व सांसद एस एस अहलुवालिया को झारखंड से राज्यसभा चुनाव के लिए अपना उम्मीदवार घोषित किया है। वे इससे पहले भी यहीं से राज्यसभा सदस्य थे। पार्टी की इस घोषणा ने सत्ताधारी गठबंधन में उसके सहयोगी झारखंड मुक्ति मोर्चा के लिए असमंजस की स्थिति पैदा कर दी है क्योंकि वह पहले ही अपने उम्मीदवार संजीव कुमार के नाम की घोषणा कर चुका है। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया है कि किसी भी उम्मीदवार को इस चुनाव में जीतने के लिए पहली वरीयता के रूप में २७ वोट मिलने चाहिए।

सरकार, जल्द ही इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स विनिर्माण नीति लागू करेगी। संचार और सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्री कपिल सिब्बल ने नई दिल्ली में संवाददाताओं को बताया कि इस बारे में योजना आयोग के साथ बातचीत की जा रही है। इस महीने के अंत तक यह नीति तैयार हो जाने की आशा है।
सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी नीति के बारे में पूछे जाने पर श्री सिब्बल ने बताया कि इसे अगले दो-तीन हफ्‌ते में अंतिम रूप दे दिया जाएगा। इससे पहले श्री सिब्बल ने इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी विभाग का नाम बदलकर 'सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी विभाग' करने के उपलक्ष्य में आयोजित समारोह की अध्यक्षता की। इस अवसर पर उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स क्षेत्र को बढ़ावा देने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है।

सड़क परिवहन तथा राजमार्ग मंत्री सी.पी. जोशी ने आज कहा कि देश के उत्तरी भाग में लगभग साढ़े दस हजार करोड़ रूपये की लागत से एक हजार एक सौ ६७ किलोमीटर सड़क परियोजनाओं पर काम शुरू किया जायेगा। उन्होंने बताया कि ये परियोजनायें हरियाणा, पंजाब और हिमाचल प्रदेश में हैं और इन पर इसी वित्त वर्ष में काम शुरू होगा। श्री जोशी ने आज हरियाणा में पंचकुला के पास चांडीमंदिर में रेडियो फ्रीक्वेंसी पहचान आधारित  इलेक्ट्रोनिक टोल प्लाजा का उद्घाटन करते हुए यह जानकारी दी। इस अवसर पर उन्होंने राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग -५ के जीरकपुर-परमाणु खंड को भी राष्ट्र को समर्पित किया।

अफगानिस्तान में पिछले चौबीस घंटों में विद्रोहियों के खिलाफ अभियान के दौरान २५ सच्चस्त्र विद्रोही मारे गये और नौ घायल हो गए। काबुल में आज जारी गृह मंत्रालय की विज्ञप्ति में बताया गया  कि काबुल, नंगरहार, बग़लान, कुंदूज, बल्ख, हेलमंड, जबुल, लोगार, गजनी और फराह में प्रांतों के १५ इलाकों में ये अभियान चलाए गये । इस दौरान पुलिस ने विद्रोहियों के पास से बड़ी मात्रा में हथियार, गोली-बारूद, वाहनों विध्वंसक बारूदी सुरंगें और मादक पदार्थ भी बरामद किये। दक्षिणी कंधार प्रांत के झिरी जिले में कल तीन विद्रोही बारूदी सुरंगें बिछाने की कोच्चिच्च में विस्फोट से मारे गये और नौ घायल हो गये।

इराक में देश के छह अलग-अलग प्रांतों में आज समन्वित गोलीबारी और बम हमले में कम से कम ३७ लोग मारे गये और १५० से अधिक लोग घायल हो गये। बगदाद में सुरक्षा अधिकारियों के अनुसार दर्जनों गोलीबारी और बम हमले में २२ नागरिकों, दस पुलिसकर्मियों, अलकायदा आतंकवाद विरोधी दल के तीन सदस्यों और दो सैनिकों की मौत हो गई। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया है कि पिछले महीने की २० तारीख को भी देशभर में हुए विस्फोटो में ५० लोग मारे गये थे और २५५ लोग घायल हुए थे।

देश का निर्यात वर्ष २०११-१२ में पिछले वर्ष की तुलना में २१ प्रतिशत बढ़कर तीन सौ तीस अरब डालर से अधिक हो गया, वहीं आयात ३२ दशमलव एक प्रतिशत बढ़कर चार सौ अठासी अरब डालर से ज्यादा रहा, जिसके चलते व्यापार असंतुलन लगभग १८५ अरब डालर हो गया। वाणिज्य सचिव राहुल खुल्लर ने आज नई दिल्ली में बताया कि यह काफी अधिक व्यापार असंतुलन है तथा चिंता का विषय है। श्री खुल्लर ने कहा कि सोने के आयात से आयात बिल बढ़ा है, लेकिन सरकार द्वारा शुल्क लगाये जाने से चालू वित्त वर्ष में सोने के आयात में कमी आने की संभावना है।

India today made a giant stride in Missile Technology when it successfully test-fired nuclear-capable Agni-V Inter- Continental Ballistic Missile ,ICBM  with a  strike  range of over 5000 km.The surface-to-surface ICBM was launched from a mobile platform from the Wheeler Island off the Odisha coast this morning.
This launch has placed India at the threshold of an elite five-member club that possesses such missiles.
The 17.5 metre-tall and two metre-wide missile with a launch weight of around 50 tonnes, including a 1.5 tonne dummy warhead, blasted off from the island launch pad leaving behind an orange plume.
The missile rose to a height of 600 km before re-entering the atmosphere to hit a target over 5000 km away in the Indian Ocean.  
The President Mrs Pratibha Devi Singh Patil, Vice President Mohd Hamid Ansari and the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh have congratulated DRDO scientists and technical personnel for the successful test launch of Agni - 5. In his message the Prime Minister said that the nation stands together in the honour of the scientific community who have made the country proud.
"The successful launch of Agni V missile is a tribute to the sophistications and commitment to national causes on the part of India's scientific technological community. Defence Minister A K Antony  described the maiden test  of  Agni-5 as a major milestone. Former President of India and missile man, Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam said that today's missile test is a strong move to ensure peace.

The Defence Research and Development  organisation,DRDO, Chief, Dr. V K Saraswat has said  India has emerged as a major missile power with the successful launch of Agni five ballistic missile He was talking to reporters in New Delhi after the launch of the missile.
With the launch of Agni V, India has emerged today as a major missile power and has joined the select group of 6 countries who have the capability to design, develop, build, manufacture and have the strategic capability as far as this kind of defence is concerned.  
Dr. Saraswat said the production of the weapon system will start in a year's time. He expected the missile to be inducted into the armed forces in the next two years.

The Government will soon launch an Electronics Manufacturing Policy in the country. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today,Minister for Communications and Information Technology Kapil Sibal said that the dialogue is  on with the planning commission and the policy is expected to be launched by the end of this month. Replying to a question about IT policy, Mr Sibal said it will be finalised in the next two to three weeks.
Earlier, Mr. Sibal presided over the renaming function of the Department of Information Technology, DIT, which is now  the Department of Electronics and Information Technology, DEITY. He said that the government will set up two Fabrication units in the country to give further boost to electronics. Mr Sibal said that the government is committed to make electronics a robust sector .

The Supreme Court today sought response from the Centre and the Odisha government on a petition seeking to restrain the release of jailed Maoists in exchange for captive BJD MLA Jina Hikaka. A two judge bench asked the respondents to file a reply within two weeks. The apex court initially expressed disinclination to issue any notices, but relented after counsel for Major General (Retd.) Gangurdep Bakshi persisted with the plea.
Bakshi, a counter-terrorism operations expert, had pleaded with the apex court that the state government should be restrained from releasing the Maoists as they were captured by security forces, which had to put their lives at stake to nab them.
Meanwhile  Odisha Chief Secretary, Bijay Kumar Patnaik, said  the state government is yet to receive the order from the supreme Court and it will respond after receiving the order. Our correspondent reports that there are indications that the state government will not change its decision to withdraw cases and facilitate release of certain Maoists for freeing the BJD MLA.
In another development  jailed Maoist, Ghasi today appealed to his cadres to release the tribal BJD MLA, Jhina Hikaka without further delay on humanitarian grounds .  Earlier the state Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik  appealed to the Maoists several times to release the MLA unharmed.

In Uttar Pradesh, a special CBI court in Ghaziabad today rejected the bail application of former  Director General of Family Welfare  S P Ram in the National Rural Health Mission, NRHM case. The court however granted  interim relief   to Abhay Kumar Bajpai, Managing Director of state industrial corporation.   
Bajpai was arrested by CBI from New Delhi on January 6 and is the first accused to be granted interim bail in the NRHM scam.

The country's exports grew 21 per cent, to 303.7 billion dollars in the 2011-12 fiscal year, compared to the previous fiscal. Imports shot up 32.1 per cent, to 488.6 billion dollars, leaving a trade deficit of 184.9 billion dollars, Commerce Secretary Rahul Khullar said in New Delhi, today.
Khullar said this was the highest trade deficit and is a serious concern. Khullar also said that gold imports, which contributed in increasing the import bill, are expected to decline in the current fiscal due to the duties imposed by the government.

The Nifty advanced 32 points, or 0.6 percent, to 5,332. Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore ended mixed. The rupee weakened 37 paise, to an over 3-month low of 52.15 against the dollar.  Gold edged up 10 rupees, to 28,900 rupees per ten grams in Delhi. Silver held steady at 56,600 rupees per kilo. In Iraq, a wave of apparently coordinated bombing and shooting attacks in six different provinces across the country today killed at least 50 people and wounded more than 150.  More from our West Asia correspondent..
Baghdad and its neighborhoods woke up to a series of bomb explosions this morning. In all 20 bomb blasts took place in different parts of Iraq shattering an uneasy calm for over a month. The other explosions occurred in oil rich Kirkuk province as well. Most of the attacks were in the form of car bomb or roadside bomb blasts targeting security personnel or Shiite neighborhoods. No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks. But the nature, timing and synchronization reveal Al Qaeda outfits may be behind these blasts. It was the deadliest day in Iraq since March 20, when shootings and bombings by Al-Qaeda outfit, Islamic State of Iraq left over 50 people dead and wounded 255 persons across the country.The violence has raised once again the fear of sectarian strife in a nation which is trying to put its house in order.Atul Tiwary,AIR News,Dubai.

In Afghanistan 25 armed insurgents were killed and nine wounded during the past 24 hours in joint clearance operations launched by the NATO and the Afghan security forces . A press release issued by the Afghan interior ministry says that 15 joint operations were launched in ten provinces including Kabul.  Afghan police also destroyed 2100 acres of poppy crops during counter-narcotics operations.

The government is considering to set up an inter-ministerial group to tackle the menace of misleading advertisements. Consumer Affairs, Food and Public distribution Minister K V Thomas said this in New Delhi while inaugurating the  5th and final seminar on Impact of misleading advertisements on consumers. He said, the government will find out the ways to curb the misleading advertisements on the basis of suggestions that came up  in this seminar and 4 similar seminars held at regional levels.
Mr Thomas said that  the widely accepted opinion is that both self-regulation and legal controls should work in synergy.

The common man in West Bengal today faced hardship because of a taxi strike on demand of a hike in fares and ten other demands. The strike call was given by four taxi unions .
