भारत, म्यामां को बुनियादी ढांचे के विकास के लिए ५० करोड़ डॉलर का ऋण देगा। दोनों देशों ने व्यापार और निवेश, ऊर्जा, कृषि और लोगों के बीच आपसी संपर्क बढ़ाने सहित बारह समझौतों पर आज हस्ताक्षर किये। प्रधानमंत्री डॉक्टर मनमोहन सिंह और म्यामां के राष्ट्रपति यू थिन सीन तथा दोनों देशों के प्रतिनिधिमंडलों के बीच आपसी, क्षेत्रीय और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मुद्दों पर हुई चर्चा के बाद विदेश मंत्रालय द्वारा जारी संयुक्त वक्तव्य में कहा गया है कि दोनों नेताओं ने आपसी संबंधों की समीक्षा की।डॉ० मनमोहन सिंह ने म्यांमा सरकार द्वारा लोकतंत्र को बढ़ावा देने और राष्ट्रीय मेल-मिलाप के क्षेत्र में किये गये साहसिक प्रयासों के लिए राष्ट्रपति यू थिन सीन को बधाई दी।
प्रधानमंत्री के साथ गईं हमारी संवाददाता ने खबर दी है कि दोनों नेताओं ने सभी प्रकार के आतंकवाद और उग्रवाद के खिलाफ साझा संघर्ष की प्रतिबद्धता दोहराई। दोनों पक्षों ने सीमावर्ती क्षेत्रों में शांति, सुरक्षा और स्थिरता बनाए रखने के लिए दोनों देशों के सुरक्षाब लों और सीमा सुरक्षा एजेंसियों के बीच बेहतर सहयोग की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया।
भारत और म्यांमा के बीच नये समझौते में इन दोनों देशों के रिश्तों में एक नये अध्याय की शुरूआत हुई है। व्यापार, निवेश और लोगों के बीच सम्पर्क बढ़ाने के समझौते ने प्रधानमंत्री के इस दौरे को ऐतिहासिक बना दिया है। इम्फान और मांडले बस सेवा रजामंदी दोनों मुल्कों के बीच उड़ाने बढ़ाने की सहमति और रेल सम्पर्क की संभावनायें तलाशने जैसे प्रयासों ने न केवल वाणिज्यिक रिश्ते मजबूत होंगे लोगों के बीच सांस्कृतिक और पर्यटन संबंध भी मजबूत होंगे। व्यापार और निवेश बढ़ाने के समझौते से द्विपक्षीय व्यापार के तीन सालों में दुगना हो जाने की उम्मीद है। साथ ही ऊर्जा से जुड़े करार भारत की आर्थिक प्रगति के लिए मददगार होगी। सुनील शुक्ला के साथ पुष्पिन्दर कौर एआईआर न्यूज नेपटो म्यांमा।

म्यांमा ने भारत को आश्वासन दिया है कि वो अपनी जमीन से भारत विरोधी गतिविधियों की इजाजत नहीं देगा। राजधानी ने पी थ्यू में दोनों देशों के बीच हुई बातचीत के बाद विदेश सचिव रंजन मथाई ने कहा कि भारत-म्यांमा सीमा पर आतंकवादी गतिविधियों पर नियंत्रण के मुद्दे पर म्यांमा के राष्ट्रपति ने भरोसा दिलाया है कि विभिन्न जनजातीय समूहों के साथ शांति समझौता करने के प्रयास जारी हैं और भारत विरोधी किसी भी समूह को म्यांमा की जमीन का इस्तेमाल करने नहीं दिया जाएगा। उन्होंने कहा कि खुफिया सूचनाओं के आदान-प्रदान के लिए दोनों देशों के सशस्त्र बलों के बीच सहयोग बढ़ाने के प्रयास जारी हैं।------
मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्री कपिल सिब्बल ने आज नई दिल्ली में कहा कि २०१३ से केन्द्रीय सहायता प्राप्त इंजीनियरिंग संस्थाओं के लिए संयुक्त प्रवेश परीक्षा होगी। इन संस्थाओं में भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान राष्ट्रीय प्रौद्योगिक संस्थान और भारतीय सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान शामिल हैं। इन संस्थाओं की संयुक्त परिषदों ने आज राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर एक ही प्रवेश परीक्षा लेने का फैसला किया। शिक्षा प्रणाली के तहत पहली बार इन संस्थाओं में प्रवेश के लिए १२वीं कक्षा की परीक्षाओं को मान्यता दी जायेगी। श्री सिब्बल ने कहा कि इंजीनियंरिंग में अन्डरगे्रजुएट कक्षा के लिए संयुक्त प्रवेश परीक्षा दो हिस्सों में होगी, जी मेन और जी एडवांस।उन्होंने कहा कि जिन छात्रों ने २०१२ में १२वीं कक्षा की बोर्ड परीक्षाएं दी हैं और अपना प्रदर्शन बेहतर करना चाहते है तो वे फिर २०१३ की १२वीं कक्षा की बोर्ड परीक्षा में बैठ सकते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि पांच जून का राज्यों के शिक्षा मंत्रियों की बैठक बुलाने का प्रस्ताव है जिसमें समान राष्ट्रीय परीक्षा प्रक्रिया पर विचार किया जायेगा। श्री सिब्बल ने कहा कि बारहवीं योजना में शिक्षक शिक्षा मिशन के लिए छह हजार तीन सौ करोड़ रुपये निर्धारित किए गये हैं।

सरकार ने कहा है कि उसकी डीजल, मिट्टी के तेल और रसोई गैस के खुदरा मूल्य में फिलहाल वृद्धि की कोई योजना नहीं है। तेल मंत्री एस.जयपाल रेड्डी ने तेल के दामों में वृद्धि के मुद्रास्फीति पर प्रभाव पर विचार करने के लिए वित्त मंत्री प्रणब मुखर्जी द्वारा बुलाई गई बैठक के बाद संवाददाताओं को यह जानकारी दी। मुख्य आर्थिक सलाहकार कौशिक बसु भी मुद्रास्फीति संबंधी अन्तर-मंत्रालय समूह की इस बैठक में मौजूद थे। श्री जयपाल रेड्डी ने कहा कि डीजल, मिट्टी के तेल और रसोई गैस के दामों में संशोधन पर फैसला करने के लिए मंत्री स्तरीय समूह की बैठक बुलाने के लिए अभी कोई तारीख निर्धारित नहीं की गई है।------
दिल्ली विधानसभा का बजट सत्र आज से शुरू हो गया, जिसमें दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री शीला दीक्षित ने सदन में वर्ष २०१२-१३ का बजट पेश किया। श्रीमती दीक्षित के पास वित विभाग भी है। श्रीमती दीक्षित ने अपने बजट में दिल्ली को कैरोसीन मुक्त बनाने की घोषणा की।मैं चालू वित्तवर्ष में ४० करोड़ एलपीजी कनेक्शन उपलब्ध कराने का प्रस्ताव करती हूं ताकि दिल्ली को देश का पहला कैरोसीन मुक्त शहर घोषित किया जा सके।
मुख्यमंत्री ने हाल में बढी पेटेल की कीमतों में २० प्रतिशत वैट की छूट देने की घोषणा की जिससे दिल्ली में पेट्रोल की कीमत एक रूपए २६ पैसे प्रति लीटर कम हो जाएगी। इसकी कीमत ७३ रूपए १८ पैसे के बदले अब ७१ रूपए ९२ पैसे हो जाएगी।
मैं पेट्रोल की कीमत में हाल में हुई बढोत्तरी पर २० प्रतिशत वैट में कटौती का प्रस्ताव करती हूं।

बम्बई उच्च न्यायालय ने एक जनहित याचिका पर आज केन्द्र, पेट्रोलियम मंत्रालय और वित्त मंत्रालय के सचिव को नोटिस जारी किया। याचिका में कहा गया है कि पेट्रोल के दामों में हाल में की गई वृद्धि अवैध है क्योंकि इसे संसद की मंजूरी नहीं मिली है और यह संविधान के खिलाफ है।न्यायाधीश आर. वाई गानू और न्यायाधीश एन. एम. जामदार की पीठ ने तेल कम्पनियों, इंडियन ऑयल कारपोरेशन, हिन्दुस्तान पेट्रोलियम कारपोरेशन और भारत पेट्रोलियम कारपोरेशन लिमिटेड को भी नोटिस जारी करने का आदेश दिया। याचिका पर सुनवाई ३० मई को होगी।

आन्ध्र प्रदेश में हैदराबाद की सी. बी. आई. अदालत ने कड्प्पा से लोकसभा सदस्य जगन मोहन रेड्डी को १४ दिन की न्यायिक हिरासत में चंचलगुड.ा सेंट्रल जेल भेज दिया है। वाई एस आर कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष जगन मोहन रेड्डी को आय से अधिक सम्पत्ति के मामले में कल गिरफ्तार किया गया था और आज सुबह उन्हें विशेष अदालत में पेश किया गया। अदालत ने जगन मोहन रेड्डी से और अधिक पूछताछ के लिए सीबीआई की याचिका पर न्यायिक हिरासत का आदेश दिया है।------
कांगे्रस ने इन आरोपों को खारिज कर दिया है कि केन्द्रीय अन्वेषण ब्यूरो, सीबीआई, केन्द्र और कांगे्रस अध्यक्ष के इशारे पर वाई एस जगनमोहन रेड्डी के खिलाफ कार्रवाई कर रही है।------

उत्तरप्रदेश विधानसभा का बजट सत्र आज शोर-शराबे के बीच राज्यपाल बी० एल० जोशी के अभिभाषण के साथ शुरू हुआ। राज्यपाल ने कहा कि पूर्व सरकार केवल मूर्र्तियां बनाने और पार्क बनाने में लगी रही तथा जनहित का कोई काम नहीं हुआ। राज्यपाल ने जैसे ही अपना अभिभाषण पढ़ना शुरू किया, बहुजन समाज पार्टी के सदस्यों ने विधानसभा की कार्यवाही में बाधा डाली, भारतीय जनता पार्टी, कांगे्रस और राष्ट्रीय लोकदल के सदस्यों ने भी राज्य में कानून व्यवस्था की बिगड़ती स्थिति के लिए समाजवादी पार्टी की सरकार को दोषी ठहराया।------
रक्षा मंत्रालय ने बदलते समय की जरूरतों को ध्यान में रखते हुए १९०३ के रक्षा कार्य अधिनियम में संशोधन की प्रक्रिया शुरू कर दी है। रक्षा मंत्री ए.के. एंटनी ने अपने मंत्रालय की सलाहकार समिति की बैठक में यह जानकारी देते हुए कहा कि सभी सम्बन्धित पक्षों की सलाह ली जाएगी और इसे शीघ्र ही पूरा कर लिया जाएगा।------

पाकिस्तान ने पहली बार प्रत्यर्पण संधि के लिए भारत के प्रस्ताव पर विचार करने का आश्वासन दिया है, ताकि विभिन्न अपराधों में वांछित लोगों को इंसाफ के कटघरे में खड़ा किया जा सके। आज नई दिल्ली में पत्रकारों से बातचीत करते हुए गृह सचिव आर.के. सिंह ने कहा कि दोनों देशों ने आपराधिक मामलों में सहयोग के लिए दो महीनों में पारस्परिक कानूनी सहायता संधि पर बातचीत शुरू करने की सैद्धांतिक सहमति जताई है।------

India today extended to Myanmar a 500 million US dollar line of credit by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the neighbouring country. The Line of Credit will be utilised in the infrastructure development projects, including in the fields of Agriculture and Irrigation, Rail Transportation, and Electric Power in Myanmar.
The joint statement issued today in Nay Pyi Taw said Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Myanmar President U Thein Sein agreed to cooperate for bringing development and prosperity of the people in bordering areas by undertaking both infrastructure development and micro-economic projects. These include upgradation of roads and construction of schools, health centres, bridges, agriculture and related training activities. The two leaders decided to set up the Myanmar Institute of Information Technology with financial and technical assistance from India.
Both the countries emphasised the need for closer cooperation to further energy security.
India and Myanmar also signed MoU to set up border haats along the border between the two countries. They also agreed to upgrade banking infrastructure at border trade points to facilitate greater trade between the people living in these areas.
Signing of nine MOUs and three agreements between India and Mayanmar has opened a new chapter in the journey of the two neigbouring countries. This has also made the Visit of Prime Minister as historic as there will be increased trade and investment, connectivity and people to people contact between the two sides. Agreements to launch Imphal- Mandlay bus service, increasing the number of flights and examining of feasibility of rail connectivity will not only increase commercial exchanges but cultural, touristic and other exchanges also among the people of the two neighboring countries. The agreement on trade and investment will give boost to bilateral trade and hopefully double it by 2015. After the restricted meeting between Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and President of Myanmar U Thein Sein and delegation level talks on bilateral relations, regional and international issues of mutual interest, a joint statement by the Ministry of External Affairs said the two leaders comprehensively reviewed the multifaceted bilateral and expressed satisfaction at the growing economic, trade and cultural ties and they agreed to cooperate in the areas such as border area development, transportation, connectivity, agriculture, trade and investment, promotion of friendly exchanges and human resource development.
Myanmar also assured India that it will not allow any anti- India force to use its territory.

The Government has announced a Joint Entrance Examination, JEE from 2013 for admission into the central funded engineering institutions such as Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) , National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs). Joint Councils of these institutes also decided that as part of reform in the Examination system, the results of Class 12 examination too would be given due weightage towards entrance.
Children were not really taking much interest in the class XII Board and we wanted to revive and rejuvenate the school system and strengthen the class XII Boards. If we have a common merit list then obviously there is reduction in the element of discretion that institutions can use in admitting students. But once we have common merit list, the student can decide where a student wants to go and study to which particular course depending on the institution.
Announcing this at a press conference in New Delhi, Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal said a Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) will have a new format consisting of two tests JEE main and JEE advanced which would be conducted on the same day.
The minister also said those students who have appeared in the 12th board examinations in 2012 and wish to improve upon their performance can appear again for the board examinations in 2013.

The government has approved a three-fold hike in the delegation of financial powers to Service Headquarters from the current 50 crore rupees to 150 crore rupees to accelerate the process of procurement for the Armed Forces. A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting held by Defence minister AK Antony with the three Service Chiefs and Defence Secretary in New Delhi today.

The government said that it has no immediate plan to raise the retail prices of diesel, Kerosene and domestic gas (LPG) .Oil Minister S Jaipal Reddy told this reporters after a meeting called by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee to discuss the impact of fuel price hike on inflation. Mr. Reddy said no dates have yet been fixed for convening a meeting of a ministerial panel to decide on revising rates of diesel, LPG and kerosene.

Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court today issued notices to the Centre, the Petroleum Ministry and the Finance Secretary on a PIL which claimed that the recent petrol price hike is illegal as it lacked Parliament's approval and ultra vires of the Constitution.
A bench of Justices R.Y. Ganoo and N.M. Jamdar ordered service of notices to the respondents, who apart from the Central ministries also include oil marketing companies Indian Oil Corporation, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.
The bench has posted the matter to May 30.

A CBI Special Court in Hyderabad today ordered judicial remand for 14 days for Kadapa Lok Sabha member Y S Jagnamohan Reddy. The Court has given its directions over the CBI petition seeking custody to further probe him in his alleged disproportionate assets case. The YSR Congress Party President was arrested last evening in connection with the assets case against him and produced before the CBI Special Court this morning. Seeking his custody the CBI said Jaganmohan Reddy has not cooperated for the investigation. More from our correspondent.
Kadapa Lok Sabha Member and YSR Congress party President Y S Jaganmohan Redy has been sent to Chanchalguda Central jail in Hyderabad this evening following the CBI Special Court Directions. The Principle Judge A Pullaih has ordered judicial remand till 11th next month after he has been produced by the CBI. The Central Investigating Agency has arrested Jaganmohan Reddy last evening after interrogating for three days in his alleged disproportionate assets case. The Court also allowed a petition by Jaganmohan Reddy seeking special prisoner’s status. The Court is expected to issue its direction over the petition. -lakshmi, airnews Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, the CBI Special Court has extended till 30th of this month the remand of industrialist Prasad and Senior Officer Brahmananda Reddy, whose remand came to an end yesterday in this case. The Court also sanctioned bail to 11 persons whom the CBI named in its first charge sheet filed August last year in the case.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy today dismissed the criticism launched against The Congress Party and its high command by the YSR Congress Party leaders in the wake of Jaganmohan Reddy’s arrest.
The party ,not the state government nor the Central Government has ordered any inquiry into him. It is the High Court ordered the inquiry - CBI and on the direction of the High Court the inquiry is going on.
In New Delhi , Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari also rejected the allegations that CBI was acting against Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy at the behest of the centre and the Congress president.

A Parliamentary Committee has expressed serious concern over 855 vacant posts in the country's premier investigation agency CBI and recommended strategic steps on a war-footing to fill them. According to the Ministry of Personnel, which acts as a nodal agency for administration of CBI, of the total vacancies, a highest of 626 were at executive level, 61 of law officers and 40 of technical officers.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court today rejected the creation of 4.5 percent sub-quota for religious minorities from the 27 percent OBC reservations. A division bench of the High Court comprising chief justice Madan B Lokur and justice PV Sanjay Kumar struck down the Central government's order to give reservation to religious minorities including Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists and Parsis within the 27 percent OBC quota. The bench opined that there was no rationale or data to justify such a quota. <><><>

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 199 points at 16,417, today, on buying by funds amid a stronger rupee and rising Asian and European markets. The Nifty advanced 65 points to 4,986. Concerned over rising bad loans, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee today asked the banks to take steps to manage their non-performing assets (NPAs) which has grown on account of economic downturn. Mr. Mukherjee said NPAs have grown at an uncomfortable and unacceptable rate in the past couple of years. The Minister talked about rising bad loans of the banking sector at a function to launch a new 4001st branch of the Bank of India (BoI). Mukherjee inaugurated the branch at Manipur through remote control.
