तमिलनाडु में विधानसभा चुनाव के लिए सीटों के बटवारे को लेकर कांगे्रस और डीएमके के बीच गतिरोध के चलते, समाजवादी पार्टी ने फिर कहा है कि वह केंद्र में कांगे्रस के नेतृत्व वाली यूपीए सरकार को बिना शर्त समर्थन जारी रखेगी। पार्टी का कहना है कि वह मध्यावधि चुनाव के पक्ष में नहीं है। केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल से अपने मंत्रियों को हटाने के डीएमके पार्टी के फैसले के बाद तमिलनाडु की राजनीतिक स्थिति पर कांगे्रस में विचार विमर्श जारी है। समाजवादी पार्टी के अध्यक्ष मुलायम सिंह यादव ने आशा व्यक्त की है कि कांगे्रस ,डीएमके के साथ अपने मतभेद सुलझा लेगी।
मामला बहुत गंभीर नहीं है। यह मामला कांग्रेस पार्टी की सरकार और उनका मतभेद है। कुछ मुद्दों को लेकर कुछ पदों को लेकर ये कोई लड़ाई कोई खास नहीं है। हमारे समाजवादी पार्टी के महामंत्री का कल ही बयान आ गया है। समाजवादी पार्टी सरकार का समर्थन करेगी।
हमारे संवाददाता ने सूत्रों के हवाले से खबर दी है कि कांगे्रस को भी उम्मीद है कि डीएमके के साथ सभी विवादित मुद्दो का समाधान कर लिया जाएगा। कांगे्रस ने कहा है कि उसे केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल से मंत्रियों को हटाने के फैसले के बारे में डीएमके की ओर से कोई सूचना नहीं मिली है। उधर डीएमके ने कहा है कि उसके मंत्री कल मंत्रिमंडल से इस्तीफा दे देंगे। पार्टी संसदीय दल के नेता टी आर बालू ने चेन्नई में कहा कि उनकी पार्टी के छह मंत्री सीधे प्रधानमंत्री को इस्तीफा सौंपेंगे।
इस बीच, डीएमके की नई सहयोगी पार्टी कोंगूनाडू मुनेत्र पेरवई-के एम पी ने मोर्चे को समर्थन देने की बात आज फिर दोहराई।
डीएमके के लोकसभा में 18 सदस्य हैं और केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल में उसके छह मंत्री हैं। यूपीए सरकार को समाजवादी पार्टी, बहुजन समाज पार्टी और राष्ट्रीय जनता दल का बाहर से समर्थन प्राप्त है। लोकसभा में इन दलों के 47 सदस्य हैं।

निर्वाचन आयोग ने राजस्व गुप्तचर विभाग और अन्य एजेंसियों को बैंकों से पैसे निकालने के संदिग्ध मामलों और देश के अन्दर और बाहर से आने वाले जाली नोटों पर नजर रखने के लिए कहा है। आगामी विधानसभा चुनावों में धन बल के इस्तेमाल को रोकना इस उद्देश्य है । निर्वाचन आयोग ने इस बारे में लगभग छह एजेंसियों के अलावा, सभी मान्यता प्राप्त राष्ट्रीय और क्षेत्रीय राजनीतिक दलों को पत्र लिखकर चुनाव के दौरान नकद लेन-देन न करने और बड़ी मात्रा में नकद पैसे नहीं ले जाने का सुझाव दिया है।
आयोग के दो पृष्ठों के पत्र में कहा गया है कि चुनाव की पवित्रता बनाए रखने खासकर चुनाव प्रक्रिया में पारदर्शिता के लिए राजनीतिक दलों को अपने उम्मीदवारों के चुनाव खर्च में आत्म संयम बरतना चाहिए और नकद लेन-देन से बचना चाहिए।

असम में अगले महीने होने वाले विधानसभा चुनाव के लिये सीटों के तालमेल को लेकर विभिन्न राजनीतिक दलों के बीच बातचीत तेज हो गयी है। 62 सीटों के चुनाव के लिये पहले चरण के मतदान के वास्ते अधिसूचना इस महीने की दस तारीख यानि बृहस्पतिवार को जारी की जायेगी। असम गण परिषद चुनावी गठबंधन और सीटों के तालमेल के बारे में बोडोलैंड पीपुल्स प्रोगे्रसिव फ्रंट, युनाइटेड डेमोके्रटिड पीपुल्स फ्रंट, गण शक्ति और आटोनोमस स्टेट डिमांड कमेटी जैसे क्षेत्रीय दलों से बातचीत कर रही है। मार्क्सवादी कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी , भारतीय कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी और मार्क्सवादी लेनिनवादी कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी जैसे दलों से चुनावी तालमेल करेगी। सत्ताधारी कांगे्रस, भारतीय जनता पार्टी और आल इंडिया यूनाइटेड डेमोक्रेटिक फ्रंट ने किसी भी दल के साथ गठबंधन नहीं करने की घोषणा की है।
इस बीच मुख्य निर्वाचन आयुक्त एस वाई कुरैशी ,दो निर्वाचन आयुक्तों के साथ दो दिन के असम दौरे पर कल गुवाहाटी पहुंच रहे हैं। वे चुनाव तैयारियों की समीक्षा करेंगे।

केरल में 13 अपै्रल को होने वाले विधानसभा चुनाव के लिए सत्ताधारी वाम लोकतांत्रिक मोर्चा-एलडीएफ और विपक्षी संयुक्त लोकतांत्रिक मोर्चा-यूडीएफ अगले सप्ताह तक सीटों के बटवारे तथा उम्मीदवारों की सूची तैयार करने के काम में जुटे हुए हैं। विपक्षी नेता ओमन चांडी ने संकेत दिया है कि कांग्रेस द्वारा उम्मीदवारों के चयन में:युवाओं को प्राथमिकता देने की संभावना है। लेकिन कांग्रेस नेतृत्व वाले यूडीएफ में सीटों के बंटवारे के लिए आने वाले दिनो ंमें कई बैठकें करने की जरूरत है।

मार्क्सवादी कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी की केन्द्रीय समिति ने तमिलनाडु, पुडुचेरी और असम में विधानसभा चुनाव लड़ने के लिए तैयार की गई रणनीति को मंजूरी दे दी है। पार्टी ने असम विधानसभा चुनाव के लिए अपने 17 उम्मीदवारों की सूची भी जारी की है। पार्टी ने कहा कि पश्चिम बंगाल के मुख्यमंत्री बुद्धदेव भट्टाचार्य राज्य में चुनाव अभियान का नेतृत्व करेंगे।

हिंसाग्रस्त लीबिया में फंसे दो -तिहाई से अधिक भारतीयों को स्वदेश लाने का काम आज रात तक पूरा हो जाएगा। एयर इंडिया के विशेष विमान और रेड स्टार जलपोत दो हजार तीन सौ भारतीय त्रिपोली से आज सवेरे भारत पहुंचे। भारत सरकार ने कहा है कि बृहस्पतिवार तक सभी भारतीयों को लीबिया से बाहर निकाल लिया जाएगा। विदेश राज्यमंत्री प्रणीत कौर ने कहा कि लीबिया में भारतीयों की सम्पत्ति की सुरक्षा की जिम्मेदारी लीबिया सरकार की है। उन्होंने कहा कि इस बारे में जल्द ही लीबिया सरकार से बातचीत की जाएगी।

लीबिया के विभिन्न इलाकों से प्राप्त खबरों से यह पता नहीं चल पा रहा है कि विद्रोहियों और कर्नल गद्दाफी की वफादार सेना के बीच चल रहे संघर्ष में किसका पलड़ा भारी है। विद्रोहियों के कब्जे वाले रास लानुफ और सिर्ते के बीच के शहर बिन जावत में ताजा संघर्ष की खबर है। कर्नल गद्दाफी की सेना के इस दावे को गलत बताया जा रहा है कि उन्होंने रास लानुफ और मिसराता पर कब्जा कर लिया है। खबरों के अनुसार राजधानी त्रिपोली में अब भी गद्दाफी के सैकड़ों समर्थक मौजूद हैं।
प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों का कहना है कि ब्रिटेन की विशेष सेना के छह सैनिकों सहित आठ लोगों को लीबिया के विद्रोहियों ने अपने कब्जे में ले लिया है।

लीबिया में उड़ान वर्जित क्षेत्र घोषित करने की संभावना के प्रस्ताव पर फ्रांस के विदेश मंत्री एलियन जुप्पे , आज मिस्र में अरबलीग के महासचिव से बातचीत कर रहे हैं। श्री जुप्पे ने बताया कि लीबिया में कर्नल गददाफी की सेना द्वारा विद्रोहियों पर बमबारी रोकने के लिए उडान वर्जित क्षेत्र बनाने पर संयुक्तराष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद प्रस्ताव के लिये फ्रांस, ब्रिटेन के साथ मिलकर काम कर रहा है।

उधर, बहरीन में आज मनामा के अल-कुदैबिया महल के सामने हजारों प्रदर्शनकारियों ने मानव श्रृंखला बनाई।
बहरीन में सरकार विरोधी प्रदर्शन थमने का नाम नहीं ले रहे हैं जबकि यमन में प्रदर्शनकारी 32 सालों से शासनरत अपने राष्ट्रपति के खिलाफ लगातार सड़कों पर हैं। क्षेत्र की सरकारों ने समस्या से निपटने के लिए कुछ राजनैतिक और आर्थिक कदम जरूर उठाए हैं जो अब तक ना काफी साबित हुए हैं। जहां बहरीन सरकार ने राजनैतिक कैदियों को रिहा किया और 20 हजार लोगों को आंतरिक सुरक्षा मंत्रालय में नौकरी देने की घोषणा की है। वहीं ओमान में दो बार कैबिनेट में फेरबदल किए गए और युवकों को बेरोजगारी भत्ता देने की घोषणा की गई है। इधर सउदी अरब सरकार ने अपने यहां प्रदर्शनों को फैलने से रोकने के लिए सभी तरह से प्रदर्शनों को रोकने के लिए अवैधानिक करार दे दिया है।

डीएमके और कांग्रेस के बारे में खबर आप सुन चुके हैं। इस बीच, खबर मिली है कि डीएमके पार्टी के दक्षिण तमिलनाडु के संगठन सचिव और डीएमके प्रमुख एम करूणानिधि के पुत्र ने कहा है कि कांगे्रस के साथ समझौते की कोंई उम्मीद नहीं है। अब से कुछ देर पहले डीएमके के मुख्यालय में संवाददाताओं से बातचीत में उन्होंने कहा कि डीएमके पार्टी के यूपीए सरकार से अपने मंत्रियों को हटाने के फैसले से विधानसभा चुनाव के नतीजों में उस पर कोंई असर नहीं पडेगा।

भारत ने दुश्मन के प्रक्षेपास्त्रों को बीच आकाश में रोककर नष्ट करने वाली अत्याधुनिक मिसाइल ए ए डी का आज सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण किया। हमारी संवाददाता ने बताया है कि ओडिशा के पास समुद्र में व्हीलर आईलैण्ड से किये गये इस परीक्षण के तहत छोड़ी गयी मिसाइल ने बालेश्वर में चांदीपुर से दागे गये एक पृथ्वी प्रक्षेपास्त्र को नष्ट कर दिया। भारत यह सुविधा रखने वाले देशों में शामिल हो गया है।

वयोवृद्ध कांग्रेसी नेता अर्जुन सिंह का आज मध्यप्रदेश में उनके गृह नगर चुरहट में पूरे राजकीय सम्मान के साथ अंतिम संस्कार कर दिया गया। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया है कि इस अवसर पर राज्यपाल रामेश्वर ठाकुर, मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान, छत्तीसगढ़ के मुख्यमंत्री रमण सिंह और केन्द्रीय मंत्री प्रणब मुखर्जी, कमलनाथ, ज्योतिरादित्य सिंधिया तथा विभिन्न राजनीतिक दलों के नेता मौजूद थे।
तिरंगे में लिपटी अर्जुन सिंह की पार्थिव देह एक खुले ट्रक में रखी गयी थी। इस मौके पर भारी संख्या में उमड़ी भीड़ दाऊ साहब अमर रहे जैसे नारे लगा रही थी। अंतिम संस्कार राव सागर तालाब के निकट किया गया। उनके बड़े बेटे अभिमन्यू सिंह ने चिता को मुखाग्नि दी। पुलिसजनों ने हवा में फायर कर दिवंगत नेता को सलामी दी। अर्जुन सिंह आज इस दुनिया में नहीं हैं लेकिन कमजोर वर्गों के लिए किए गये कार्यों की बदौलत वो हमेशा याद किये जाएंगे।

जाट महासभा के आंदोलन से दिल्ली-मुरादाबाद रेल मार्ग पर साठ से ज्यादा रेलगाड़ियां प्रभावित हुई हैं।
दिल्ली से पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश जाने वाली बीस रेलगाड़ियों को रद्द कर दिया गया है और लंबी दूरी की पचास रेलगाड़ियों का मार्ग बदला गया। कल भी कुछ रेलगाड़ियां रद्द रहेंगी।

With the stand off between the Congress and DMK continuing, Samajwadi Party today reiterated its unconditional support to the Congress led UPA government. It says that the party is not in favour of a mid term election. SP Chief Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav today expressed hope that the Congress party will be able to sort out its differences with the D.M.K.

AIR correspondent quoting party sources reports that Congress is hopeful of resolving the issue with the DMK. The Party maintains that it has not received any communication from the DMK about the decision to pullout Ministers from the centre. The DMK on the other hand says that its Ministers in the UPA will submit their resignations tomorrow. The DMK's organising secretary of South Tamilnadu and the son of the DMK supremo Mr. M. Karunanidhi said that there is no expectation for a patch up with Congress. He was speaking to reporters at the DMK headquarters a short while ago.

The DMK has 18 members in the Lok Sabha with six ministers in the Union Cabinet. The UPA enjoys the outside support of SP, BSP and RJD, which together have an effective strength of 47 members in the Lok Sabha.

In Chennai, former Union Minister and the DMK Parlaimentary Party leader T.R.Baalu said that the six ministers from the party would tender resignations to the Prime Minister directly.

Meanwhile the Kongunadu Munnetra Peravai which is a new ally of the DMK has re affirmed support to the front today.

Political guesses keep fluctuating in the state politics around the DMK-Congress combine.One has to wait till tomorrow for the finalisation of the present tie up. As for the past elections,after 1989, Congress party in the state was in the second runner up position till the emergence of MDMK,PMK and DMDK. Political commentators say that the wait of the AIADMK is something to be watched for.

Election Commission has asked Enforcement agencies like DRI to keep a close vigil on suspicious cash withdrawals and fake currency emanating both from inside and outside the country. The aim is to curb use of money power during the forthcoming assembly polls. Besides writing to almost six enforcement agencies, the Commission has also written to all recognized national and state political parties advising them to avoid transactions in cash and ask their affiliates not to carry huge cash during polls. The two-page letter says, in order to maintain purity of elections and in particular to bring transparency in the process of elections, it is advised that political parties exercise self restraint in election expenditure of their candidates and also avoid transactions in cash.

In Assam, hectic parleys are on among different political parties for seat adjustment for the two-phased Assembly polls scheduled to be held on 4th and 11th of the next month. The notification for the first phase of polling in 62 Assembly constituencies will be issued on 10th of this month. Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) is preparing to make announcements on electoral alliances and seat adjustment issues with the other regional parties like the Bodoland People’s Progressive Front the United Democratic People’s Front, Gana Shakti and the Autonomous State Demand Committee

Meanwhile, the Chief Election Commissioner S.Y Quraishi along-with two Election Commissioners is arriving at Guwahati on a two-day visit to Assam tomorrow to review the poll preparedness.

In Kerala also both the ruling LDF and opposition UDF are working against time to finalize seat sharing arrangements and list of candidates by next week for the forthcoming assembly election of April 13th.

India today successfully test-fired sophisticated advanced air defence interceptor missile from the Wheeler Island off Odisha coast. The interceptor missile also destroyed Prithvi missile fired from Integrated Test Range at Chandipore in Balasore in the Bay of Bengal. The test was conducted to observe the operational effectiveness of the indigenously developed high-speed interceptor missile.

The successful test firing of advanced air defence interceptor missile has added one more feather to the advanced missile programme of India. The Prithvi missile was test-fired at 0935 hrs from launch complex number 3 of ITR in Chandipore, while the interceptor was fired at 0938 hrs, about 3 minutes later. India has a Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) system capable of tracking and destroying hostile missiles both inside and outside the earth’s atmosphere. The success of the AAD test will boost India’s chances of joining the US, Russia and Israel in the very exclusive BMD club. Indigenously developed by DRDO, the AAD is a single stage anti-ballistic solid propellant powered missile. It is 7.5 metres long. Defence sources said, the endo-atmospheric is considered as similar to the American PAC-3 system in terms of range and altitude of interception.

The mortal remains of senior Congress leader and former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Arjun Singh were consigned to flames with full state honour in his home town Churhat in Madhya Pradesh this afternoon. State governor Rameshwar Thakur, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, various Union Ministers, and senior leaders of different political parties attended the funeral ceremony.

In Nepal the funeral rites of former Prime Minister of Nepal Krishna Prasad Bhattarai were performed with full state honor at Aryaghat, Pashpinath temple at Kathmandu this evening. Thousands of people thronged the cremation site to bid farewell, to the founder member of the Nepali Congress and a two-time prime minister. He died at the age of 87 in Kathmandu on Friday night.

A London newspaper says Libyan rebels have detained up to eight British Special Forces soldiers in the east of the country.  The Sunday Times says the soldiers have been escorting a British diplomat to meet opposition leaders.  The paper says the rebels were furious that the British had turned up uninvited as any suggestion of foreign help would be a propaganda gift for Col. Gaddafi.

Government says, all Indians, stranded in Libya will be evacuated by Thursday. However, there is no cut-off date for this. Minister of state for external affairs Praneet Kaur says, protecting properties of Indians in Libya is the duty of the host country and India will take up the matter with the Libyan government at an appropriate time.

Meanwhile evacuation process of more than two third of the Indian's from strife torn Libya will be completed tonight. 2300 Indians reached India this morning in three special AI flights, besides the Red Star One ferry from Misurata.

The French Foreign Minister Alian Juppe is meeting the Secretary General of the Arab League in Egypt today to discuss proposals for a possible No Fly Zone over Libya. Mr. Juppe said France was working with Britain to get a Security Council resolution to create an Air Exclusion Zone to stop Col. Gaddafi's forces bombing the rebels.

In New York, Libya's Deputy Ambassador to the United Nataions, Mr. Ibrahim Dabbashi, again called for the establishment of a No Fly Zone.

Meanwhile, there are conflicting reports from different parts of Libya as to who is gaining the upper hand in the confrontation between rebels and forces loyal to Col. Gaddafi.  Fresh clashes are reported in Bin Jawad, a town between the opposition held oil port of  Ras Lanuf and the city of Sirte, controlled by the government. According to reports hundreds of pro-Gaddafi supporters are out on the streets of capital Tripoli .  Many are firing guns in the air and celebrating what the Government has told them of significant military victories over rebels in the east of the country. Government claims however could not be confirmed.

Meanwhile, protests of various shades by pro democracy agitators are continuing in different Arab capitals.

Anti-government protest movement shows no sign of receding in Bahrain on the 21st day since demonstrations began while Yemeni protestors are regularly demonstrating against their president who is in power for more than 32 years. Countries in the region have taken political and economic steps to deal with the crisis, which have been proved insufficient so far. While Bahrain government has released political prisoners and announced the employment of 20 thousand national in the interior ministry, Oman reshuffled its cabinet twice besides announcement of unemployment allowance to its youth. In order to prevent demonstrations in Kingdom, Saudi Arabia government has declared all protests in the country illegal.

In Iraq, at least 7 people have been killed and 18 others injured in an improvised explosive device (IED),that blew up in Basra today.

Voice of Iraq news agency quoting security sources has reported that incident occurred close to Basra’s Maaqal Railway station. Basra is the main center of southern Iraq which is 590 kilometers south of Baghdad.

In Afghanistan, at least 12 civilians including five children were killed in a roadside bomb killed in southeastern Paktika province today, while 11 militants were killed by NATO-led forces in southern Helmand province.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people protested in Kabul today against a spate of civilian casualties caused by international forces and chanted anti-US slogans. The protest came five days after nine Afghan boys were gunned down by two attack helicopters as they collected firewood in eastern Kunar province.

More than sixty trains on Delhi- Moradabad rail route is severely affected today due to on going agitation by Jat Mahasabha.  Spokesperson of Northern Railway Manish Tiwari told AIR News that the Railway track has been blocked by agitators at Kafurpur station on Jyotibaphule Nagar since last evening. The agitators are demanding reservation in central government jobs under OBC quota. The agitation has also affected the western Uttar Pradesh since large numbers of people from this area have been participating in the protest.

According to Northern railway around 20 trains from Delhi to Western Uttar Pradesh were cancelled today while more than 50 long distance trains have been diverted.

The Railway spokesperson said that ten trains scheduled for tomorrow have also been cancelled.

In West Bengal, the 176th Birth Anniversary of Rama Krishna Param Hansa is being celebrated in a befitting manner.  Special programmes have been organised at the Belur Math, the headquarter of Rama Krishna Math and Mission to mark the day.  The day is also being observed at Kamarpukur, the birth place of Rama Krishna and other centres of the mission.
