नागर विमानन मंत्री व्यालार रवि ने एयर इंडिया के पायलटों की हड़ताल को गैर जिम्मेदाराना बताते हुए कहा कि एयर इंडिया के हड़ताली पायलटो के खिलाफ प्रबंधन द्वारा की गई कार्रवाई बिलकुल जायज है और समान वेतन की उनकी मांग मानी नहीं जा सकती।
हम एयर इंडिया को मौजूदा इस स्थिति से निकालने की पूरी कोशिश कर हैं। इसके लिए हमें सभी कर्मचारियों की मदद और सहयोग की जरूरत हैं। जिन लोगों को लगता है कि वे अपनी मांगों के लिए एयर इंडिया पर दबाव डाल सकते हैं तो मुझे आशा है कि उनके समझ में यह बात आ जायेगी कि वे यह गलत कर रहे हैं।
पायलटों की हड़ताल के कारण कल देर रात एयर इंडिया की ४० उड़ानों को रद्द करना पड़ा जिसके कारण हजारों यात्रियों को परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ा।
उधर, दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय ने एयर इंडिया के पायलटों से व्यापक जनहित को देखते हुएं हड़ताल समाप्त कर काम पर लौटने को कहा है। हड़ताल के खिलाफ एयर इंडिया प्रबंधन की याचिका पर सुनवाई करते हुए न्यायमूर्ति गीता मित्तल ने हड़ताली पायलटों के किसी भी प्रकार के विरोध प्रदर्शन पर भी रोक लगा दी।
उच्च न्यायालय ने पायलटों की मांगों पर फैसले में हुई देरी के लिए एयर इंडिया प्रबंधन की खिंचाई की। भारतीय वाणिज्यिक पायलट संघ-आई सी पी ए ने कहा है कि वह न्यायालय के आदेश के मद्देनजर अपने वकीलों से सलाह-मशविरा करेगा। आज सुबह तक अंतिम फैसला ले लिया जाएगा। इस बीच एयर इंडिया प्रबंधन ने पायलट संघ के छह नेताओं को बर्खास्त कर दिया। प्रबंधन ने आई सी पी ए की मान्यता रद्द कर उसके कार्यालयों को सील कर दिया है।
प्रवर्तन निदेशालय जल्द ही टू-जी स्पेक्ट्रम घोटाले में शामिल दो दूरसंचार कंपनियों की संपत्तियों को कुर्क करेगा। उच्चतम न्यायालय के समक्ष एक रिपोर्ट में कल प्रवर्तन निदेशालय ने इसकी जानकारी दी। निदेशालय की ओर से वरिष्ठ वकील के के वेणुगोपाल ने न्यायालय को बताया कि दोंनों कंपनियो की दो-दो हजार करोड़ रुपये की संपत्तियां कुर्क की जाएंगीं, हालांकि उन्होंने कपनियों का नाम नहीं बताया। श्री वेणुगोपाल ने आश्वासन दिया कि इस संबंध में कार्रवाई जल्द ही शुरू की जाएगी और इसे दो महीने के अन्दर पूरा कर लिया जाएगा।
इस बीच, सीबीआई ने अपनी ताजा जांच रिपोर्ट पेश करते हुए वर्ष २००१-२००७ के दौरान स्पेक्ट्रम के आवंटन से संबंधित जांच पूरी करने के लिए और समय मांगा है। उच्चतम न्यायालय ने सीबीआई और प्रवर्तन निदेशालय द्वारा की गई जांच की सराहना करते हुए कहा कि दोनों विभागों ने अपना काम बहुत ही जिम्मेदारी से किया है।
संसद की लोकलेखा समिति-पीएसी टू-जी आंवटन मुद्दे पर आज अपनी रिपोर्ट को अंतिम रूप देगी। शनिवार को पीएसी के कार्यकाल के समाप्त होने से पहले इस रिपोर्ट को स्वीकृत किया जाना है। हमारे संवाददाता के अनुसार अगर रिपोर्ट पर सर्वसम्मति नहीं बनती है तो मत विभाजन की मांग की जा सकती है। उस स्थिति में यह मामला या तो संयुक्त संसदीय समिति के पास जाएगा या फिर अगले महीने की पहली तारीख से प्रभार संभालने वाली नई पीएसी इस पर विचार करेगी।
पश्चिम बंगाल में विधानसभा के तीसरे चरण में ८० प्रतिशत से भी ज्यादा मतदान हुआ। कोलकाता, उत्तर और दक्षिण चौबीस परगना की ७५ सीटों के लिए इस चरण में कल वोट डाले गए थे। मतदान कुल मिलाकर शांतिपूर्ण रहा।
इस बीच चौथे चरण के लिए चुनाव प्रचार धीरे-धीरे जोर पकड़ता जा रहा है। इस चरण में ६३ सीटों के लिए अगले महीने की तीन तारीख को वोट डाले जाएंगे।

झारखंड के धनबाद जिले में मटकोरिया इलाके में कल अतिक्रमण हटाओ अभियान के दौरान पुलिस और प्रदर्शनकारियों के बीच झड़पों में चार लोगों की मौत हो गई और पुलिस अधीक्षक पी आर के धान सहित २२ लोग घायल हो गए। घायलों में एक की हालत गंभीर बताई जा रही है। घायलों को विभिन्न अस्पतालों में भर्ती किया गया है। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया है कि मुख्यमंत्री अर्जुन मुंडा ने घटना की जांच के आदेश दे दिये हैं।
पूरे झारखण्ड में पिछले डेढ़ महीने से यहां के हाईकोर्ट के आदेश से सरकारी ज+मीन एवं सरकारी कम्पनियों की ज+मीन तथा आवासों पर वर्षों से हुए अतिक्रमण को हटाने का काम चल रहा है। इसमे लोगो का विरोध भी लगातार बना हुआ है और इसी क्रम में कल धनबाद के सरकारी कोयला कम्पनी बीसीसीएल के इलाके से अतिक्रमण हटाने के क्रम में करीब एक लाख लोग विभिन्न जगहों पर पुलिस के सामने उग्र विरोध करने लगे। शहर कर्फ्यू लगा दिया गया है और सुरक्षा कर्मी वहां फ्लेगमार्च कर रहे हैं। आकाशवाणी समाचार के लिए रांची से मैं राजेश सिंहा।
तापी गैस पाइपलाइन परियोजना के परिचालन समिति की आज नई दिल्ली में होने जा रही बैठक में गैस आयात करने वाले भारत सहित सभी तीनों देशों के लिए एक समान मूल्य तय करने के मुद्दे पर मुख्यरूप से चर्चा होगी। तुर्कमेनिस्तान, अफगानिस्तान, पाकिस्तान और भारत के तेल मंत्री सात अरब साठ करोड़ डॉलर वाली इस गैस पाइपलाइन परियोजना की गैस बिक्री और अन्य मुद्दों पर चर्चा करेंगे।

२००८ के मुम्बई आतंकी हमलों के बाद पहली बार भारत और पाकिस्तान के बीच व्यापार वार्ता शुरू हुई है। दोनों देशों के अधिकारियों का कहना है कि वे सार्थक बातचीत पर अपना ध्यान केंद्रित कर रहे हैं जिससे कि दोनों देशों के बीच मौजूदा दो अरब डॉलर सालाना के व्यापार को और बढ़ाया जा सके।
वाणिज्य सचिव राहुल खुल्लर और पाकिस्तान के वाणिज्य सचिव जफर महमूद के बीच कल इस्लामाबाद में शिष्टमंडल स्तर की वार्ता हुई। दो दिन की बातचीत के बाद एक संयुक्त बयान जारी होने की उम्मीद है।

अफगानिस्तान में कंधार जेल के निदेशक गुलाम मयार और सात अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों को हिरासत में ले लिया गया है। कुछ दिन पहले कंधार की इस जेल से चार सौ सत्तर से अधिक तालिबान आतंकवादी भाग गये थे। विद्रोहियो ंने जेल के पास एक घर से जेल तक एक सुरंग खोदी थी और अपने साथियों को छुड़ाकर भाग निकले थे।
अब तक ७१ फरार आतंकवादियों को पकड़ा जा चुका है ।
यमन में सत्ता विरोधी प्रदर्शनों में दो पुलिसकर्मियों सहित पन्द्रह लोगों की मौत हो गयी है। कल राजधानी सना और देश के कई हिस्सों में राष्ट्रपति अली अब्दुल्ला सालेह के खिलाफ प्रदर्शन हुए। प्रदर्शनकारी राष्ट्रपति से पद छोड़ने की मांग कर रहे हैं। यमन पर बत्तीस साल से राज कर रहे सालेह पर भ्रष्टाचार और कुशसन के आरोप लगाये जा रहे हैं।
त्रिपोली में अमरीकी दूतावास ने आशंका जतायी है कि लीबिया में हो रही हिंसा में मृतकों की संख्या तीस हजार तक हो सकती है। वाशिंगटन में अमरीकी दूत ग्रेने कृत्स ने कहा कि लीबिया में मृतकों की संख्या दस हजार से तीस हजार के बीच है। उनके अनुसार लड़ाई खत्म होने के बाद इन आंकड़ों की सच्चाई परखी जा सकती है।

The Delhi High Court has asked Air India pilots to call off their strike and return to work in larger public interest. Acting on a petition filed by Air India management against the strike, Justice Gita Mittal also barred the striking pilots from resorting to any kind of demonstration. The High Court also took the Air India management to task for delaying decisions on the demands raised by the agitators. The Indian Commercial Pilots Association, ICPA, which is spearheading the stir, said they are consulting their lawyers following the court order and will take a final decision by this morning.
Meanwhile, Air India management has sacked six ICPA leaders including President Capt A S Bhinder and General Secretary Capt Rishabh Kapur. The management has also derecognised the union and sealed their offices across the country. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi yesterday, Civil Aviation Minister Vayalar Ravi said the management's action against striking leaders is fully justified and asserted that ICPA's demands of pay parity cannot be accepted.
Nobody can dictate terms to government, especially a few pilots. They are the highest paid people in this country and they cannot dictate terms. And what they do, is to try to threaten the government and dictate the Air India. Air India Management has to obey their orders rather than they had to run Air India. There is no question of, to accept any disparity demand at the moment.
At least 40 Air India flights were cancelled till late last night on the first day of the strike by its pilots causing enormous hardship to thousands of travellers.

The Enforcement Directorate will soon attach properties of two telecom companies involved in the 2G spectrum scam. This was disclosed by the ED in a report submitted before the Supreme court yesterday. Appearing for the ED, senior advocate K K Venugopal told the apex court that property worth 2,000 crore rupees each has to be attached. He, however, did not mention the names of the companies but assured that attachment proceedings will be initiated soon and will be completed within two months. Mr Venugopal hinted that attachment orders will be issued shortly under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act and Foreign Exchange Management Act, against the two companies against whom the ED has so far registered the complaints. Meanwhile, CBI also filed fresh status report about its probe and sought more time to complete the investigation relating to the allocation of spectrum during 2001-07. The court appreciated the probe done by the CBI and ED and said they have done a commendable job.

The Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee, PAC, will finalize its report on 2G allocation issue today. The report is to be adopted by the PAC before its term end on Saturday. AIR correspondent reports that a division of vote may be demanded if there is no consensus on the report. In that case, the matter will be left either to the Joint Parliamentary Committee or to the new PAC that takes charge on the first of next month.

In Jharkhand, four people were killed and 23 others were injured in a clash between protestors and police during the anti-encroachment drive at Matkoria area of Dhanbad yesterday. Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Sunil Kumar Burnwal told a news conference that indefinite curfew has been clamped in the town. Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda has ordered an inquiry into the incident. The inquiry will be conducted by Divisional Commissioner of North Chota Nagpur. AIR correspondent reports that among those injured include Superintendent of Police P.R.K. Dhan.
At the behest of orders from Jharkhand High Court, a massive anti-encroachment drive is going on in entire state to remove illegal occupation from Government land and quarters. The public protest has also been continuing alongwith and yesterday the protest became massive in Dhanbad as around one lakh people came to street in three different places of Dhanbad to protest the police action to remove encroachment from the land and quarters of Central Government Coal Company - BCCL. Uniform price for gas for all three importing countries including India will be the centre of discussions in the Steering Committee Meeting on TAPI Gas pipeline project today. Oil Ministers of Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India are meeting in New Delhi to discuss the gas sales and other details of the 7.6 billion dollar TAPI Gas pipeline project. The technical feasibility of the project has already been given. The agenda for the steering committee was prepared after officials of the four countries held extensive discussions. It is expected that there will be substantial progress on gas prices front in today's meeting being held for the first time in India. But prices mechanism may be finalized in the next meeting only. The discussions will also focus on the proposal to appoint a technical advisor for assisting in forming a consortium for laying and operating the pipeline and raising the funds for the line. India and Pakistan have begun their first trade negotiations in Islamabad since the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Officials from both the countries said that they are focussing on fruitful talks that will boost business from the current level of about two billion dollars a year. Commerce Secretary Rahul Khullar held delegation-level talks with his Pakistani counterpart Zafar Mahmood in Islamabad yesterday. Both sides said they have an open agenda for the two-day talks, following which a joint statement is expected to be issued today. In his opening remarks at yesterday's meeting, Mr. Khullar said, Pakistan and India can resolve their issues through the process of dialogue and the delegation is in Islamabad with this spirit.

The President Pratibha Devisingh Patil leaves back home after five days of her state visit to Mauritius today. Before leaving she will attend a India-Mauritius business meet and will be conferred honorary degree of law by the Mauritius university. During her stay in the Port Louis, Mrs Patil held discussions with her Mauritian counterpart and the Prime Minister to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries . The growing threat of piracy in the high seas remained high on the agenda of talks with the two countries pledging to strengthen their cooperation to deal with this menace effectively. Mauritian leadership hailed the Indian help in this area. Enhancement of economic ties between the two countries also remained in the focus with the two countries identifying new areas of cooperation.
