इस बीच एयर इंडिया द्वारा अपने हड़ताली पायलटों को कल पांच बजे तक काम पर लौटने की चेतावनी के बाद दस पायलट ड्यूटी पर हाजिर हो गए हैं। एयर इंडिया के प्रवक्ता ने बताया कि स्थिति पर निगरानी रखी जा रही और काम पर लौटे पायलटों की सही संख्या आज बाद में बताई जायेगी।

दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय ने भी अदालत के आदेश के बावजूद काम पर नहीं लौटने वाले पायलटों के खिलाफ अदालत की अवमानना के लिए कार्रवाई शुरू कर दी है।
एयर इंडिया को कल पूरे देश में १२६ उड़ानें रद्द करनी पड़ीं जिससे यात्रियों को परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ा। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया है कि एयर इंडिया अगले पांच दिनों तक कोई नई बुकिंग नहीं करेगा।

इस बीच, मार्क्सवादी कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी ने पुरूलिया हथियार कांड में केन्द्र सरकार पर लापरवाही बरतने का आरोप लगाते हुए न्यायिक जांच की मांग की है। पश्चिम बंगाल के मुख्य मंत्री बुद्धदेव भट्टाचार्य ने कोलकाता में पत्रकारों से कहा कि घटना की गंभीरता और आन्तरिक सुरक्षा पर इसके दुष्प्रभाव के मद्दे नजर सरकार को अपना पक्ष साफ करना चाहिए। मार्क्सवादी कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी के प्रदेश सचिव और वाममोर्चा अध्यक्ष बिमान बोस ने कहा कि पार्टी कार्यकर्ताओं और समर्थकों से राज्य में कम्युनिस्ट सरकार को हिलाने के लिए सोलह साल पहले हुई कथित साजिश का पर्दाफाश करें।

प्रधानमंत्री की बांदा यात्रा को देखते हुए राज्य सरकार ने सुरक्षा व्यवस्था कड़ी कर दी है।
इस प्रस्ताव में सीरिया से मानवाधिकार उच्चायुक्त कार्यालय से भेजे गये दल के साथ पूरा सहयोग करने को कहा गया है। अमरीकी सरकार ने सीरिया की खुफिया एजेंसी और राष्ट्रपति बशर अल असद के दो रिश्तेदारों पर प्रतिबंध लगाए हैं।

बिहार में पंचायत चुनाव के चौथे चरण के तहत ६२ ब्लॉक के ९०५ ग्राम पंचायतों में कड़ी सुरक्षा के बीच मतदान जारी है। मतदान शाम पांच बजे तक चलेगा। नक्सल प्रभावित क्षेत्रों में दोपहर बाद तीन बजे तक ही वोट डाले जाएगे। हमारे पटना संवाददाता ने खबर दी है कि ५३ लाख से अधिक मतदाता ९३ हजार पांच सौ ६० उम्मीदवारों के भाग्य का फैसला करेंगे। राज्य निर्वाचन आयोग ने राज्य सरकार को उपद्रवियों को तुरंत गिरफ्तार करने और फास्ट ट्रैक अदालत में दो सप्ताह के भीतर उनके खिलाफ आरोप पत्र दाखिल करने का निर्देश दिया है।-----

अंतरिक्ष यान एन्डेवर की अंतिम उड़ान तकनीकी खराबी के कारण प्रक्षेपण से कुछ घण्टे पहले टालनी पड़ी। अंतरिक्ष यात्री प्रक्षेपण स्थल की तरफ बढ़ रहे थे कि अमरीकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नासा ने अंतरिक्ष यान के हीटर में खराबी के कारण उलटी गिनती रोक दी। प्रक्षेपण देखने के लिए केप कानवेरल में भारी संख्या में लोग मौजूद थे। अमरीकी राष्ट्रपति बराक ओबामा और उनका परिवार भी इस उड़ान को देखने के लिए आने वाला था। इस खराबी को दूर करने में कम-से-कम तीन दिन लग सकते हैं।----

अंग्रेजी दैनिक द फाइनेंशियल एक्सप्रेस की ख़बर के मुताबिक-योजना आयोग ने बारहवीं योजना के दृष्टिकोण पत्र में गैर सरकारी संगठनों के प्रतिनिधियों की राय शामिल की है और उन्हें योजना प्रक्रिया का अंग बनाया है।

The Government has decided to bring on board some pilots from private airlines to operate Air India trunk routes. Official sources said in New Delhi that Air India has approached DG, Civil Aviation to enable these pilots to fly Air India planes. It has also been decided to follow the 'no work no pay' principle for agitating pilots. Ten pilots have reported for work after Air India's ultimatum to the agitating pilots to resume duties by five p.m. yesterday. Air India spokesman said that they are keeping a close watch on the situation and will be able to give the final figure of those who have joined work later today. According to Air India Sources, the management is preparing a list of pilots who absented themselves without any intimation and will initiate action against them. AIR Correspondent reports.
Passengers continue to bear the brunt of agitation. At the same time the national carrier is suffering huge revenue losses every day. Already two thousand crore rupees were given to Management last year to tide over financial crisis. National carrier is still not out of woods and the continuing agitation will only adds to its ailing financial help. The CBI has said there is no evidence linking any Indian politician or government agency with the Purulia arms drop case of 1995. The CBI spokesperson dismissed claim of accused Kim Davy that the clandestine work was carried out by political forces at the Centre to destabilise the Left Front Government of West Bengal. The CBI has said in a statement in New Delhi that the agency has clinching evidence against mastermind Kim Davy's alleged act of terror and is making all efforts to bring him to India to face trial in the case.

The West Bengal Chief Minister Budhadeb Bhattacharya has demanded a judicial enquiry into the Purulia arms drop case. Talking to reporters in Kolkata, he said in view of the gravity of the incident and its implications for internal security, the government should come out clean on the issue. The CPIM State Secretary and Left Front Chairman Biman Bose asked party cadres and supporters to take to the streets to expose the conspiracy which took place 16 years ago allegedly to topple the communist government in the state.

Addressing an election rally at Arambag in Hooghly district, , the West Bengal Chief Minister Budhadeb Bhattacharya has asserted that there will not be any compromise with rapid industrialisation of the state. He said, there will be no repeat of Singur, if left front is again voted to power. Trinamool leader Mamta Banerji on the other hand reiterated her stand that, she is not against industrialisation, but her party will oppose forcible occupation of land and mainly the rich crop yielding land for the purpose.

Two army personnel’s were injured in firing by the militants in Pulwama district of South Kashmir in the wee hours this morning. According to sources, after the incident militants managed to escape. India and Morocco have signed a memorandum of understanding to expand bilateral and economic cooperation. The MOU was signed during the 4th session of the India -Morocco Joint Commission Meeting in New Delhi. Co-chairing the meeting, Commerce and Industry Minister, Anand Sharma expressed satisfaction over the expanding trade and investment between the two countries. He underlined the possibilities of expanding these ties and said there is vast scope for trade in agricultural commodities and food processing.

The UN Human Rights Council has passed a resolution to send a mission to Syria to investigate into the alleged human rights violations in the crackdown against anti-government protesters. Moved by the United States, the 47-member world body based in Geneva, approved the resolution with nine countries voting against it while seven abstained and four did not vote. Russia and China were among those which opposed the resolution. Several Arab nations, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar either abstained or were absent. A report from AIR correspondent

However, Syria's U.N. ambassador has said that council is misguided since his nation is only defending itself against extremists. The demonstration in the country continue despite government’s decision last week to repeal the state of emergency, abolition of Supreme State Security Court and regulation of the right to peaceful protest. The US President Barack Obama visited storm-ravaged Alabama yesterday as south-eastern US states are grappling to face the aftermath of devastating storms. At least 318 people have died, most of them in Alabama, as tornadoes ripped through many states. Widespread devastation has also been reported in Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia and Virginia. A state of emergency has been declared in seven states, and federal aid money is being sent to Alabama. The final launch of the space shuttle Endeavour was aborted just hours before lift-off because of a technical problem. The astronauts were on their way to the launch pad when NASA called off the countdown due to a malfunction in the shuttle's onboard heaters. A huge crowd had converged at Cape Canaveral area for the lift off. The Space Shuttle is likely to take at least three days to fix the fault.
