  क्रिकेट विश्वकप का फाइनल भारत और श्रीलंका के बीच मुम्बई के वानखेड़े स्टेडियम में शुरू हो चुका है।  श्रीलंका ने टॉस जीतकर पहले बल्लेबाजी का फैसला किया है।  भारतीय टीम में चोटिल आशीष नेहरा की जगह तेज+ गेंदबाज शांताकुमारन श्रीसंत को शामिल किया है वहीं श्रीलंका ने एंजेलो मैथ्यूज, अजंता मेंडिस, रंगना हेराथ और चमारा सिल्वा की जगह - थिसारा परेरा, नुवान कुलाशेखरा, सूरज रनदीव और चमारा कुपुगेदरा को अंतिम ग्यारह में जगह दी है।  राष्ट्रपति प्रतिभा देवी सिंह पाटिल और श्रीलंका के राष्ट्रपति महिंद्रा राजपक्षे मैच देखने के लिए स्टेडियम में पहुंच गए हैं।  मैच में दोनों टीमों की हौसला-अफज्ई के लिए बडी संख्या में दर्शकों के साथ-साथ राजनीतिक, आर्थिक और फिल्म जगत की नामी गिरामी हस्तियां मौजूद हैं।

 यह मुकाबला कमोबेश श्रीलंकाई गेंदबाजी अटैक और भारतीय बल्लेबाजों के बीच है।  टीम इंडिया की बल्लेबाजी पूरे टूर्नामेंट में फेनोमिनल रही है।  हां यह जरूर है कि एक युनिट के तौर पर भारत ने अभी तक परफार्म नहीं किया है।  लेकिन आज के इस बिग-फाइनल में भारत के टॉप-७ बल्लेबाजों पर हर किसी की निगाहें रहेंगी।

 मेज+बान होने के नाते हर किसी की फैवरेट टीम इंडिया है, लेकिन खेल पत्रकार नीलांजन दत्ता ने बताया कि टीम के कुछ कमजोर पहलू भी हैं

 भारत को ट्रिपल-एम यानि मलिंगा, मेंडस और मुरलीधरन की तिकड़ी से होशियार रहने की ज+रूरत है।  हालांकि पत्रकार राकेश रॉव का मानना है कि हालिया दिनों में भारत ने श्रीलंकाई गेंदबाजों की काट निकाल ली है, लेकिन क्या फाइनल में यह असरदार साबित होगी?

 बहरहाल कौन होगा दसवें एडिशन का चैंपियन?  यह तो वक्त ही बताएगा लेकिन एक रोमांचक मुकाबल की उम्मीद ज+रूर की जा सकती है।

 प्रधानमंत्री डा. मनमोहन सिंह और कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी ने भारतीय टीम को अपनी शुभकामनाएं दी हैं।  इन्होंने उम्मीद जताई कि भारत फाइनल जीतेगा।  इसबीच, गृहमंत्री पी. चिदम्बरम ने कहा कि विश्वकप फाइनल के मद्देनज+र सुरक्षा बिलकुल चाक-चौबंद है।  स्टेडियम के आसपास कई स्तरों वाली सुरक्षा व्यवस्था का इंतज+ाम किया गया है और स्टेडियम के ऊपर और आसपास उडान वर्जित क्षेत्र की घोषणा की गई है।  इसबीच, अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट परिषद - आई.सी.सी. ने भारतीय सूचना एवम्‌ प्रसारण मंत्रालय के हस्तक्षेप के बाद टेलीविज+न न्यूज+ चैनलों के फाइनल मैच की कवरेज को लेकर लगाए गए प्रतिबंध हटा लिए हैं।

 झारखंड में भी विश्व कप फाइनल को लेकर उत्साह और रोमांच चरम पर है। रांची से हमारे संवाददाता ने खबर दी है कि पूरे राज्य में लोग जगह-जगह भारतीय टीम की जीत के लिए प्रार्थनाएं कर रहे हैं।

आई सी सी विश्व कप फाइनल के आज के मैच का बुखार आज झारखंड पर चढकर अपना प्रभाव दिखा रहा है। जगह जगह विशेष पूजा प्रार्थना हो रही है इसी क्रम में भारतीय कप्तान महेन्द्र सिहं धोनी के बडे भाई नेहरासी के निकट प्रसिद्ध प्राचीन देवडी मंदिर में सुबह चार बजे जाकर पूजा-अर्चना की। जगह जगह पर बडे स्क्रीन पर मैच देखने की व्यवस्था की गई है और संभावित जीत के बादजश्न की भी पूरी तैयारी है।

 पूर्व दूरसंचार मंत्री ए राजा, उनके कुछ नजदीकी सहायकों और कुछ रियल स्टेट कम्पनियों के खिलाफ २जी स्पेक्ट्रम घोटाला मामले में आज सी बी आई परिशिष्टों सहित ८० हज+ार पृष्ठ से अधिक का पहला आरोप पत्र दायर करेगी। इन लोगों पर सरकारी ख़जाने के साथ कथित हेराफेरी करने का आरोप है। हमारे संवावदाता ने सी बी आई सूत्रों के हवाले से कहा है कि इस आरोप पत्र में शायद यह बात शामिल न हो कि सरकारी ख़जाने को किस हद तक नुकसान हुआ है। इसकी वजह यह है कि दूरसंचार नियामक प्राधिकरण द्वारा अभी २००१ और २००८ के बीच सभी ऑपरेटरों के लिए स्पेक्ट्रम आवंटन से हुए नुकसान का पता लगाने की प्रक्रिया को पूरा किया जाना बाकी है।  ये आरोप पत्र अब से कुछ देर बाद दायर कर दिया जाएगा। इसके अन्तर्गत तत्कालीन दूरसंचार मंत्री ए राजा द्वारा २००७-०८ के दौरान स्पेक्ट्रम आवंटन के काम में किये गए कथित आपराधिक षडयंत्र के मामले को शामिल किये जाने की संभावना है।

          असम में पहले चरण में होने वाले ६२ विधानसभा सीटों के चुनाव के लिए प्रचार आज दोपहर बाद तीन बजे समाप्त हो जाएगा।  इन निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों में सोमवार चार अप्रैल को मतदान होगा। ऊपरी असम, बराक घाटी के १३ जिलों और दो पर्वतीय जिलों में ११ हजार २६४ मतदान केन्द्रों पर ८५ लाख नौ हजार ११ मतदाता वोट डाल सकेंगे। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया कि प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह ने आज लखीमपुर के धाकुआखाना में चुनावी सभा को संबोधित किया इसके बाद वे और नौगांव जिले के रूपाहीहाट में चुनावी सभा करेंगे।

 इस बीच, परेश बरुआ गुट के नेतृत्व वाले प्रतिबंधित अल्फा ने प्रधानमंत्री की यात्रा के विरोध में आज सुबह छह बजे से १२ घंटे के बंद का आह्‌वान किया है। बंद की वजह से राज्यभर में सामान्य जनजीवन प्रभावित हुआ है। हालांकि रेल और विमान सेवाओं पर बंद का असर नहीं पड़ा है। पूरे राज्य में सुरक्षा व्यवस्था बढ़ा दी गई है।

  उग्रवादियों के गैरकानूरी संगठन कार्बी पीपुल्स लिबरेशन टाइगर-के पी एल टी के सदस्यों ने आज राज्य में एक मुठभेड़ में सी आर पी एफ के चार जवानों को मार डाला और एक को घायल कर दिया। यह घटना कार्बी आंगलोंग जिले में हुई। पुलिस के अनुसार मुठभेड़ के बाद से सी आर पी एफ के कई जवान लापता हैं।

 पश्चिम बंगाल विधानसभा के तीसरे चरण के चुनाव के लिए अधिसूचना जारी कर दी गयी है। इस चरण में उत्तरी और दक्षिणी २४ परगना और कोलकाता की ७५ सीटों के लिए २७ अप्रैल को वोट डाले जाएंगे।इस बीच दूसरे चरण के चुनाव के लिए नामांकन भरने का काम जारी है। पहले चरण में उत्तरी बंगाल के छह जिलों की ५४ सीटों के चुनाव के लिए नामांकन-पत्रों की आज जांच की जाएगी। यहां १८ अप्रैल को मतदान कराया जायेगा।

 केरल में १३ अप्रैल को होने वाले विधानसभा चुनाव के लिए प्रचार ने और जोर पकड़ लिया है। हमारे संवाददाता ने खबर दी है कि विभिन्न  दलों के कई प्रमुख नेता राज्य में पहुंच गए हैं।

 तमिलनाडु में मौसम की गर्मी के बावजूद विधानसभा चुनाव के प्रचार अभियान ने जोर पकड़ लिया है। जैसे-जैसे मतदान का समय नजदीक आता जा रहा है राजनीतिक आरोपों और प्रत्यारोपों के साथ ही व्यक्तिगत आक्षेप भी लगाए जा रहे हैं। डी एम के ने निर्वाचन आयोग से शिकायत की है कि विपक्ष के नेतृत्व वाला मोर्चा उसके पार्टी प्रमुख करूणानिधि और उनके परिवार के सदस्यों पर व्यक्तिगत आक्षेप लगा रहा है।  हमारे संवाददाता ने खबर दी है कि मद्रास उच्च न्यायालय ने मतदाताओं के बीच पैसा बांटने पर रोक लगाने के निर्वाचन आयोग के अधिकारों में कटौती करने का अनुरोध नामंजूर कर दिया है।

 गोआ के शिक्षामंत्री अतानासियो मोनसरेट को कथित तौर पर अघोषित भारतीय और विदेशी मुद्रा रखने के आरोप में आज तड़के मुंबई हवाईअड्डे पर हिरासत में ले लिया गया। हवाईअड्डा सूत्रों ने बताया कि शिक्षामंत्री स्वीकृत सीमा से ज्यादा विदेशी और भारतीय मुद्रा अपने साथ ले जा रहे थे। यह पता नहीं चल पाया है कि श्री मोनसरेट कहां जा रहे थे।

 विश्व बैंक ने भारत को राष्ट्रीय ई-गर्वनेंस योजना तेजी से लागू करने के लिए १५ करोड़ डॉलर का ऋण मंजूर किया है। इस ऋण के जरिए नीतिगत और संस्थागत कार्य किये जायेंगे, जिसका सभी सेवाओं पर उचित प्रभाव पडे+गा। बैंक ने कहा है कि वह सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी के एक ही ढांचे के जरिए काम करने के वास्ते राष्ट्रीय ई-गर्वनेंस योजना में मदद देगा। इससे विभागों के बीच सूचना के तेजी से और आसानी से आदान-प्रदान की सुविधा हो जाएगी, ढांचागत लागत में कमी आएगी तथा नागरिकों और सरकारी ऐजेंसियों के लिए सेवा मुहैया कराने का खर्चा कम हो जाएगा।

 आईवरी कोस्ट के पश्चिमी शहर ड्यूको पर नियंत्रण के लिए लड़ाई में कम से कम आठ सौ लोगों की मौत हो गई है। जिनेवा में रेडक्रॉस की अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय समिति की प्रवक्ता डेरोथी क्रिम्रितसास के अनुसार ये लोग मंगलवार की लड़ाई में मारे गये। पिछले दो दिनों में रेडक्रॉस के जिन प्रतिनिधियों ने इस क्षेत्र का दौरा किया उन्होंने यह सूचना इक्ट्ठी की। सुश्री क्रिम्रितसास  ने कहा कि इसमें शक नहीं कि डोरोथी में बड़े पैमाने पर कुछ हुआ है और रेडक्रॉस की अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय समिति इस बारे में सूचना लगातार इक्ट्ठी कर रही है।  ख़बर है कि अलग-थलग किये गए देश के शक्तिशाली नेता लौंगौंर्ग्वाग्बो के प्रति वफादार सैनिक उनके प्रतिद्वन्दी की सेना से लड़ाई लड़ रहे हैं। रेडक्रॉस की अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय समिति ने कहा कि सोमवार से ही हज+ारों महिलायें, पुरूष और बच्चे ड्यूको से भाग निकले। अमरीका, फ्रांस, संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासचिव बान जी मून और अफ्रीकी संघ ने ग्बाग्बो से कहा है कि वे तत्काल अपना पद छोड़ दें। यह अनुरोध देश में चुनाव के बाद भड़की हिंसा में फंसे हुए नागरिकों के प्रति चिंता को ध्यान में रख कर किया गया है।

 जापान के प्रधानमंत्री नाओतो कान ने आज देश के सुनामी से तबाह इलाके का पहली बार दौरा किया। वे उस क्षेत्र में गये जहां लोगों का प्रवेश वर्जित है। उन्होंने रूस के चेर्नोबिल में हुए परमाणु विस्फोट के बाद से इस सबसे भयानक परमाणु संकट को खत्म करने के लिए जूझ रहे कर्मचारियों से मुलाकात की। प्रधानमंत्री कान ने मछुआरों के गांव रिकुजे+नटकाटा में अस्थायी शिविर में रह रहे शरणार्थियों से भी बातचीत की। यह गांव ११ मार्च को आए विनाशकारी भूकंप और सुनामी से तबाह हो गया था। इस दुर्घटना में २८ हजार लोगों की मौत होने या लापता होने की खबर है। श्री कान ने कहा कि स्थिति सामान्य बनाने में लम्बा समय लगेगा और सरकार अंत तक प्रयास जारी रखेगी।

 जापान के क्षतिग्रस्त फुकुशिमा परमाणु संयत्र को चलाने वाली टोक्यो इलेक्ट्रिक पॉवर कम्पनी-टेप्को का कहना है कि एक रियेक्टर के कंकरीट वाले हिस्से में आई दरार से समुद्र में रेडियोधर्मी पानी रिस रहा है। टेप्को ने कहा है कि इस रिसाव को रोकने के लिए उस जगह फिर से कंकरीट भरने की तैयारी चल रही है।

आज विश्व ऑटिजम जागरूकता दिवस है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने दो हजार सात में दो अप्रैल को विश्व ऑटिजम जागरूकता दिवस घोषित किया था। ऑटिजम एक दिमागी बीमारी है जो बच्चों में जन्म के तीन साल कें अंदर दिखाई देती है।

India meet Sri Lanka in a high-voltage final of the ICC Cricket World Cup today at the historic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai a shortwhile from now. With this, curtains will come down on the 43-day long biggest cricket extravaganza. Drenched in the blessings of millions of cricket lovers, India will come out with all guns blazing, hoping to regain the coveted Golden trophy after 28 years. Sri Lanka will also battle till their last breath to gift their country the honor after 15 years.

The President of India, Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil along with her Sri Lankan counterpart Mahinda Rajapakse will join millions of cricket fans to enjoy the day-night encounter. The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has wished Team India all success ahead of the all Asian final contest.  Home Minister P. Chidambaram said that all arrangements have been made for safe and secure conduct of the final of the World Cup. He told reporters in New Delhi that a multi layer security is being put in place around the stadium.  The air space over and around the venue has been declared a no-flying zone.

All roads lead to Wankhede Stadium today afternoon, and all eyes are on this historic stadium. 28 years wait has come to an end at the new look at Wankhede. The excitement is palpable in the air. Seats close to 33,000 have been filled guarded by 5000 personnel including NSG commandoes. Helicopters and Naval vessel patrol the coast line. For this grand final, fans dressed in blue have painted their faces in tricolour. They are carrying Indian flags and banners and are urging Sachin to fulfil his dream. For Sachin on the threshold of reaching 100 international 100s, the platform is tailor made-a world cup final in his home turf. The burden of expectation has been immense since 1983, and never more so now when India are hot favourites who have kept their date with the world cup final. However jingoistic world ups may seem, there is no better form of soft nationalism than through the game of cricket. Both India and Sri Lanka keep they date today with their third world cup final today. Both sides have won the world cup once which just goes to show that there is not much to choose between them by history or on form. This match is going to be a royal battle of wits.

Special prayers are being offered  for India's victory at famous Deori temple in Tamar near  Ranchi, the hometown of India Cricket team captain M S Dhoni since early morning. Grand celebrations are also planned in anticipation of today's final match. Many people who know Dhoni since early days are gathered outside his residence and talking to media about the qualities of the Indian Cricket team captain from their personal experiences.

An over 80,000 page first chargesheet with annexures will be filed by the CBI today  in the 2G spectrum scam case against former Telecom Minister A Raja, some of his close aides and a couple of real estate companies for allegedly defrauding the exchequer . AIR correspondent quoting CBI sources reports that  the extent of loss to the state exchequer may not be included in this charge sheet as the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India is yet to complete the process of ascertaining the loss on allocation of spectrum to all operators between 2001 and 2008. The chargesheet,  which will be filed a short while from now, is likely to cover the allegedly criminal conspiracy behind the allocation of spectrum during 2007-08 by Raja, the then Telecom Minister.

The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has  said, the prospect of resolving the ULFA issue looks bright after his positive talks with the outfit's leaders. Addressing an election meeting in Assam's Lakhimpur district, he said, he believes that  there is enough flexibility in the Indian Constitution to fulfil the aspirations of different sections of the people and do justice to them. People came out in large numbers ignoring the 12-hour Assam bandh called by the Paresh Barua led ULFA anti-talk faction to protest the PM's visit. He said, the Congress government is ready to talk to all prepared to leave the path of violence and negotiate. The Prime Minister congratulated the people for thwarting the attempt of forces attempting to destroy peace and harmony in the state.

In Tamil Nadu, amidst simmering summer heat, electioneering in Tamil Nadu has warmed up with personal attacks, charges and counter charges dominating the campaign as election day nears. The DMK has petitioned the election commission alleging that the opposition led front was personally attacking the party chief Karunanidhi and his family members.
Meanwhile, the Madras High court declined to curtail the Election Commission's powers to prevent distribution of money to voters. The court said any direction to the authorities to record reasons for searches and seizures would defeat their very purpose and amount to curbing the Commission's powers. 

The DMK Chief  Mr Karunanidhi has been been critical of the Election commission for some of its actions and has alleged that that an undeclared Emergency was prevailing in state.

It’s becoming a no-holds barred campaign with senior leaders competing with each other leveling charges. Personal attacks are the order of the day, Tamil Nadu is perhaps one of the very few states, where in , all political parties have their channel of their own and these personal attacks are also aired in these channels. The Election commission has also come under attack for their strict monitoring of elections. Meanwhile, as the D Day for the election nears, there are promises of more sops to the voter even as complaints on violations of the model code of conduct have crossed a whopping 50,000, which would go down as a record in any assembly election.

Districts of north and central Kerala is vibrant with political tussle between LDF and UDF in their aggressive campaign to capture every seat of 140 member Kerala assembly. However, both fronts shy away from projecting the chief ministerial candidate sighting party doctrines. On the other hand, BJP, the first party to start election campaign, appears quite confident of winning a few seats to open account in Kerala. So, hereafter, leaving behind world cup mania God's own country will be in the grip of election fever.

The World Bank has approved 150 million dollars in loan for India to accelerate implementation of its National e-Governance Plan (NeGP), which is aimed at transforming the service delivery system across the country. This loan will initiate policy and institutional actions that will impact all the services. In a statement, the Bank said, it will support NeGP to operate on a single common IT infrastructure, thus allowing faster and easier sharing of information between departments, saving infrastructure costs and lowering cost of service delivery for citizens as well as government agencies.

At least 800 people have been killed during fighting for control of Ivory Coast's western city of Duekoue. Spokesperson of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva Dorothea Krimitsas said, information on the deaths which occured on Tuesday, had been gathered by Red Cross representatives who visited the area during the last two days. She said, there is no doubt that something on a large scale took place in that city, on which the ICRC is continuing to gather information.
The report came as forces loyal to the country's cornered strongman Laurent Gbagbo were fighting off an attack by his rival's army and fighting shook Abidjan.The ICRC said that thousands of women, men and children had fled the fighting and looting in Duekoue since Monday. The United States, France, UN chief Ban Ki-moon and the African Union have urged Gbagbo to step down immediately,  citing concerns over citizens caught up in the country's violent  post-election conflict.

Japan's Prime Minister Naoto Kan made his first visit to the country's tsunami-devastated region today. He entered a nuclear exclusion zone to meet workers grappling to end the worst nuclear crisis since Chernobyl. Prime Minister Kan spoke with refugees living in a makeshift camp in the fishing village of Rikuzentakata, decimated by the tsunamis which struck on March 11 when Japan was rocked by a massive earthquake, leaving 28,000 dead and  missing.   He said, it will be kind of a long battle, but the government will be working hard till the end.   After three weeks, operators of the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant are no closer to regaining control of the damaged reactors, as fuel rods remain overheated and high levels of radiation continue to flow into the sea.
 Meanwhile, the operator of Japan's crippled Fukushima nuclear plant - Tokyo Electric Power Co (TEPCO) - says,  radio active water is leaking into the sea from a cracked concrete pit in one of the reactors.  TEPCO said,  it is preparing to pour concrete into the pit to try to stop the leak.

In the Philippines, gunmen have kidnapped at least 16 teachers from a school in the restive southern province. The Mayor of Prosperidad in Agusan del Sur province said that  armed men from a local clan kidnapped the teachers in the township of La Purisima.  He said that negotiations are on to seek their release.

In Afghanistan, four suicide bombers disguised in women clothes were killed  when they attacked a US military base in capital Kabul this morning. Head of Kabul's criminal investigative department Mohammad Zahir said,  the bombers tried to enter Camp Phoenix on Jalalabad road, but were stopped by security personnel. He said,  two bombers were killed by security forces but two others detonated their explosives. A NATO spokesman said, three of its soldiers were wounded in the attack, but their injuries were not serious.   The attack comes a day after at least 12 people including seven UN personnel were killed during a demonstration against burning of Koran in northern city of Mazar-e-sharif.

The Indian duo of Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi has stormed into the finals of the Mens' Doubles event in the Sony Ericssion Open Tennis, at Miami. The third-seeded Indian combine defeated Oliver Marach of Austria and Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia 6-3, 5-7, 11-9 in the semi-finals.The Indian duo will now face Max Mirnyi of Belarus and Daniel Nestor of Canada in the finals of the event.  World number one Rafa Nadal crushed long standing rival Roger Federer 6-3, 6-2 to reach the final of the Miami Masters where he will face Serbian Novak Djokovic.

Today is World Autism Awareness Day. Autism is a complex developmental disorder that typically appears during the first 3 years of life of a child and is the result of a neurological disorder. It affects a person's ability to communicate and develop social relationships and is often accompanied by extreme behavioural challenges.  The United Nations had declared 2nd April  as World Autism Awareness Day in 2007 and the first World Autism Awareness Day was observed in April 2008. 

According to a UN report autism affects about one in every 150 children across the world.  And although there is no complete cure for autism, research over the years have resulted in wide variety of treatment options which can be very helpful in dealing with autism. Experts believe that timely and accurate diagnosis is very important to deal with autism. The most challenging task is to teach an austistic child how to communicate as  its difficult for them to use spoken language. Doctors,therapists and special teachers help such children by teaching them to communicate using pictures or sign language.  There is a  pressing need to sentize the masses to  stop discrimination against autistic people and instead treat them with compassion.

Three Palestinians were killed early today  in an Israeli air strike in the Gaza Strip.  The target was a car in the area of Khan Younes town, in the south of the strip. The identities of the dead were not immediately known. The Israeli military has made no immediate comment.

Nigerians vote in Parliamentary elections today.  The head of the country's Election Commission said,  it is  vital to the future of Nigeria that the elections are free, fair and credible. The electoral commission has introduced new voting procedures designed to prevent cheating and maintain order. Nigeria has seen sporadic violence in the run-up to the polls, especially in the north of the country. Its population is split almost evenly between Muslims and Christians.  Observers are watching to see whether election officials can prevent the violence and fraud that badly marred the last polls in 2007.

In Nepal , the upward trend of tourist arrivals continued in the third month of the year 2011 showing clearly rising travel demand towards the destination. Nepal has enjoyed a sustained positive growth in the international visitor arrivals since June 2009. The figures released by Immigration Office, Tribhuvan International Airport reveal that visitor arrivals in the month of March 2011, compared to the same month last year, have increased by 4.6 per cent to 46,491.

Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, has proposed issuing migrants arriving in Italy with temporary permits which would allow them to travel to other European Union countries.  Mr Berlusconi has expressed anger at what he sees as the failure of other EU nations to do more to help Italy with the influx of people fleeing the upheaval in North Africa.
