 सरकार ने कहा है कि राजनीतिक दलों और समाज के अन्य सदस्यों के साथ सलाह मशविरे के बाद लोकपाल विधेयक के मसौदे में बदलाव किये जाएंगे। मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्री और संयुक्त मसौदा समिति के प्रमुख सदस्य, कपिल सिब्बल ने पीटीआई से बातचीत में इस बात पर जोर दिया कि पांच मंत्रियों द्वारा तैयार विधेयक का मसौदा अंतिम नहीं है। श्री सिब्बल ने कहा कि न सिर्फ राजनीतिक दलों बल्कि समाज के अन्य सदस्यों के साथ विचार विमर्श के बाद ही मसौदे में बदलाव किये जाएंगे। सरकार इस मुद्दे पर तीन जुलाई को राजनीतिक दलों के साथ बैठक कर रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि अब किसी कानून का मसौदा तैयार करने की प्रक्रिया में सिविल सोसायटी को शामिल नहीं किया जाएगा। श्री सिब्बल ने कहा कि अन्ना हजारे और उनके सहयोगी स्थापित व्यवस्था से बाहर एक तंत्र कायम करना चाहते थे जो किसी के भी प्रति जवाबदेह न हो, लेकिन ऐसा नहीं होने दिया जाएगा।.

 केंद्रीय जांच ब्यूरो - सी.बी.आई. ने योगगुरू रामदेव के निकट सहयोगी बालकृष्ण के खिलाफ कथित रूप से फर्जी पासपोर्ट हासिल करने के मामले में प्रारंभिक जांच शुरू कर दी है। इससे पहले सी.बी.आई. को शिकायत मिली थी कि बालकृष्ण ने गलत तरीके से दो पासपोर्ट बनवा लिए हैं। हमारे संवाददाता से बातचीत में सी.बी.आई. सूत्रों ने बताया कि बालकृष्ण पर फर्जी दस्तावेजों के आधार पर कई पासपोर्ट हासिल करने के आरोप हैं, जो कानून के तहत दंडनीय अपराध है।

 वित्तमंत्री प्रणब मुखर्जी आज वाच्चिंगटन रवाना हो रहे हैं, जहां वे भारत और अमरीका के बीच आर्थिक संबंधों को मजबूत बनाने के उद्देच्च्य से कई बैठकों में भाग लेंगे। तीन दिन की यात्रा के दौरान श्री मुखर्जी अमरीका के वित्तमंत्री टिमोथी गेथनर और कम्पनियों के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारियों सहित कई अमरीकी शीर्ष अधिकारियों के साथ बैठक करेंगे। श्री मुखर्जी के साथ एक उच्च स्तरीय शिष्टमंडल भी वाशिंगटन जा रहा है। शिष्टमंडल में भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक के गवर्नर डी सुब्बाराव, सेबी अध्यक्ष यू के सिन्हा, आर्थिक मामलों के सचिव आर गोपालन, मुख्य आर्थिक सलाहकार कौशिक बसु और बहुत से उद्यमी शामिल हैं।
 हमारे संवाददाता के अनुसार उनकी यात्रा के दौरान जी-२० देशों के संदर्भ में बेहतर आर्थिक रणनीतियों, विकसित और उभरती अर्थव्यवस्था वाले देच्चों में पूंजी की आमद प्रवाह और वित्तीय क्षेत्र में सुधारों पर मुख्य रूप से चर्चा होगी।

 सरकार शीघ्र ही मादक पदार्थों के सेवन और अवैध व्यापार पर रोक लगाने के लिए राष्ट्रीय नीति तैयार करेगी। सामाजिक न्याय और अधिकारिता मंत्री मुकुल वासनिक ने आकाशवाणी के साथ विशेष साक्षात्कार में बताया कि नीति के मसौदे पर विचार-विमर्श जारी है। श्री वासनिक ने बताया कि सामाजिक न्याय और अधिकारिता मंत्रालय ने नेहरू युवक केन्द्र संगठन और राष्ट्रीय बाल भवन के साथ मिलकर नशे के खिलाफ जागरुकता अभियान शुरू किया है।

 पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार ने सिंगूर के उन किसानों को चार सौ एकड़ भूमि लौटाने की प्रक्रिया शुरू कर दी है जो टाटा परियोजना के लिए जमीन देने के इच्छुक नहीं थे। किसानों को इसके लिए आवेदन पत्र वितरित किये जा रहे हैं। राज्य के उद्योग मंत्री पार्थो चटर्जी ने कोलकाता में कहा कि किसानों से एक महीने के अंदर आवेदन पत्र भरकर जमीन के सौदे के दस्तावेज के  साथ जिला मजिस्ट्रैट के पास जमा कराने को कहा गया है। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया कि राज्य सरकार ने हाल में सिंगूर भूमि पुनर्वास और विकास कानून पारित किया है जिसके तहत टाटा मोटर्स के साथ लीज+ एग्रीमेंट रद्द कर दिया गया है। टाटा मोटर्स ने कोलकाता उच्च न्यायालय में इस फैसले को चुनौती दी है। इस मामले की आज फिर सुनवाई होगी।

 छत्तीसगढ़ के दंतेवाड़ा जिले में कल रात माओवादियों के बारूदी सुरंग विस्फोट में चार पुलिसकर्मी मारे गए और तीन घायल हो गए। एक पुलिसकर्मी के लापता होने की खबर है।
 पुलिस सूत्रों के अनुसार नक्सलवादियों ने दंतेवाड़ा जिले के किरनदूल पुलिस थाना क्षेत्र में पेरपा के निकट एक पुलिस वाहन को विस्फोट से उड़ा दिया और अंधाधुंध गोलीबारी की। हमारे संवाददाता के अनुसार इससे पहले कल माओवादियों ने कांकेर जिले में सीमा सुरक्षाबल के दो जवानों को शहीद कर दिया था।

नक्सलियों द्वारा कल के दिन को काला दिवस मनाने के परिप्रेक्ष में उन्होंने छत्तीसगढ़ में कई वारदातों को अंजाम दिया। हालांकि इसके मद्दे नज+र पूरे प्रदेश में पुलिस को सर्तक रहने की हिदायत दी गई थी। कल एक ही दिन में कांखिर और दंतेवाड़ा जिले में दो अलग-अलग वारदातों में नक्सलियों ने छह पुलिसकर्मियों की हत्या कर दी, वहीं सात अन्य को घायल कर दिया जिसमें सीमा सुरक्षा बल के दो जवान और एक थाना प्रभारी भी शामिल हैं। प्रदेश में निरंतर चल रही नक्सली वारदातों ने जहां एक ओर पुलिस की चिंता बढ़ा दी है, वहीं राज्य शासन के लिए भी यह एक चुनौती बन कर खड़ा है। रायपुर से गिरीश चन्द्र दास

 उधर, महाराष्ट्र में गढ़चिरौली जिले में संदिग्ध नक्सलियों ने पुलिस की मुखबिरी के शक में कल एक व्यक्ति की गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी। पुलिस ने बताया कि ये घटना धनौरा तहसील में हुई।

 उत्तर प्रदेश में लखनऊ पुलिस ने उप मुख्य चिकित्सा अधिकारी डाक्टर वाई एस सचान की जेल में हत्या की साजिश के लिए अज्ञात व्यक्तियों के खिलाफ एफ आई आर दर्ज की है। वे बुधवार को लखनऊ जेल में मृत पाए गए थे। डाक्टर सचान की पत्नी डाक्टर मालती ने वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधिकारियों को पत्र लिखकर अपने पति की रहस्यमय मौत की एफ आई आर दर्ज करने का अनुरोध किया था।
 इस बीच राष्ट्रीय और उत्तर प्रदेश के मानवाधिकार आयोगों और राष्ट्रीय अनुसूचित जाति आयोग ने इस मामले में राज्य सरकार को नोटिस जारी किया है।

 उत्तर प्रदेश के कई पश्चिमी जिलों में भारी वर्षा से सामान्य जनजीवन अस्त व्यस्त है। बिजली गिरने और मकान ढहने की घटनाओं में कम से कम तीन लोगों के मारे जाने की खबर है और लाखों की सम्पत्ति तबाह हो गई है।

मेरठ, सहारनपुर, मुरादाबाद, झांसी, मुफ्फरनगर और आस पास के इलाकों में हुई भारी वर्षा से सामान्य जनजीवन अस्त-व्यस्त हो गया है। इस कारण निचले इलाकों में पानी लग गया है, जिससे यातायात, बिजली और दूरसंचार व्यवस्था प्रभावित हुई है। मौसम विभाग ने अगले चौबीस घण्टों के दौरान पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश के अधिकांश और पूर्वी उत्तर प्रदेश के कुछ स्थानों पर मध्यम से लेकर भारी वर्षा होने की संभावना व्यक्त की है। सलमान हैदर आकाशवाणी समाचार गोरखपुर।

 हरियाणा सरकार ने मिट्टी के तेल पर पांच प्रतिशत मूल्य वर्धित कर-वैट हटाने का फैसला किया है। मुख्यमंत्री भूपेंद्र सिहं हुड्डा ने कल इसकी घोषणा की। हमारे संवाददाता के अनुसार २००८ में रसोई गैस से भी वैट हटाया गया था।

 केन्द्र से मिले हिदायतों के बाद हरियाणा सरकार ने आम लोगों को बड़ी राहत देते हुए मिट्टी के तेल पर राज्य सरकार द्वारा लिया जा रहा पांच प्रतिशत वेट हटाने की घोषणा की है। राज्य सरकार के इस निर्णय से हरियाणा में मिट्टी का तेल सत्तर पैसे प्रतिलीटर सस्ता मिलेगा। लोगों को अब एक लीटर मिट्टी केि तेल के लिए १४ रुपये ७० पैसे के बजाए १४ रुपये चुकाने होंगे। मुख्यमंत्री भूपेन्द्र सिंह हुड्डा ने कहा है कि राज्य सरकार बढ़ी हुई कीमतों को कम करने के लिए और कदम भी उठायेगी। आकाशवाणी समाचार के लिए चण्डीगढ़ से अश्विनी कुमार शर्मा।

 नाइजीरिया में पूर्वोत्तर के मैदुगुरी इलाके में एक बम विस्फोट में २५ लोग मारे गए हैं और अनेक घायल हो गए हैं। आधिकारिक सूत्रों के अनुसार इस्लामिक गुट बोकोहरम ने कल यह विस्फोट किया। मोटरसाइकिल पर सवार दो लोगों ने भीड़ भरे बीयर गार्डन को निशाना बनाया।

 लीबिया की राजधानी त्रिपोली से करीब ८० किलोमीटर दक्षिण-पच्च्िचम में विद्रोहियों और सरकारी सुरक्षा बलों के बीच घमासान लड़ाई हो रही है। विद्रोहियों ने सरकारी सुरक्षा बलों को भारी नुकसान पहुंचाने का दावा किया है हालांकि इसकी पुष्टि नहीं हो सकी है।
 इस बीच लीबिया के शासक कर्नल मुअम्मार गद्दाफी संघर्ष समाप्त करने के लिए होने वाली वार्ता से बाहर रहने को राजी हो गए हैं। दक्षिण अफ्रीका में रविवार को वार्ता के बाद जारी विज्ञप्ति में लीबिया संबंधी अफ्रीकी संघ के पैनल ने गद्दाफी के फैसले का स्वागत किया है।

  पाकिस्तानी तालिबान ने दावा किया है कि शनिवार रात कबाइली क्षेत्र के कुलाची में एक थाने पर आत्मघाती हमला एक पति-पत्नी ने किया। तालिबानी आतंकवादी बच्चों से हमले कराते रहे हैं, लेकिन किसी विवाहित जोड़े से आत्मघाती हमला कराने की यह पहली घटना है।
  इस हमले में सात पुलिस अधिकारियों सहित दस लोगों के मारे जाने की पुष्टि की गई है।

 डीजल, मिट्टी के तेल और रसोई गैस की बढ़ी हुई कीमतों से राहत दिलाने की राज्यों की तैयारी का जिक्र आज के कई अखबारों ने किया है। आज समाज, हिन्दुस्तान, जनसत्ता और दैनिक ट्रिब्यून की सुर्खी है - हरियाणा ने कैरोसिन पर वैट खत्म किया। केरल में भी उम्मीद। दैनिक भास्कर के अनुसार शुल्क घटाने के लिए राज्यों को पत्र लिखेंगे वित्तमंत्री। राष्ट्रीय सहारा के अनुसार दिल्ली में रसोई गैस पर १५ से २५ प्रतिशत तक सब्सिडी मिल सकती है। नवभारत टाइम्स को आज ये राहत मिलने की उम्मीद है। इकनॉमिक टाइम्स का अंदाजा है कि तेल कंपनियों के शेयरों में आज रहेगी तेजी।

The government has said the draft of the Lokpal Bill will undergo changes after consultations with political parties and other members of the civil society. Speaking to PTI in an interview, HRD Minister Kapil Sibal, one of the key members of the joint committee for drafting the Lokpal Bill emphasised that the draft bill prepared by the five ministers was not the final bill. Mr Sibal said yesterday that it will go through changes after getting inputs not just from other political parties but also other members of civil society. The minister said civil society is not to be used again in drafting of law. The government is holding a meeting with political parties on the issue on the 3rd of next month.

The Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is leaving for Washington today for a series of meetings aimed at further strengthening the economic relationship between India and the United States. During his three day visit the Finance Minister will hold meetings with several key American CEOs and officials, including Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithener.

A high level delegation comprising RBI Governor D Subbarao, Sebi chairman U K Sinha, Economic Affairs Secretary R Gopalan, Chief Economic Advisor Kaushik Basu and several businessmen, is also going with Mr Mukherjee.

The Finance Minister will deliver the keynote address at the conference on US-India Economic and Financial Partnership organised by Confederation of Indian Industry in collaboration with Brookings Institute of the US. Mr. Mukherjee will also meet US National Security Advisor, Tom Donilon. He will also parti9cipate in a Cabinet level meeting of the India-US Financial and Economic Partnership. The partnership was first announced by the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh during his US visit in 2009 and formally launched by Mr. Geithner and Mr. Mukherjee in Delhi last year. In Chhattisgarh, at least 4 policemen were killed and three injured in a landmine blast in the Dantewada district last night. The deceased include a sub-inspector. One policeman is reported missing after the blast. The injured have been admitted to the local hospital. Police sources said that naxalites triggered a landmine at a vehicle-borne police party near Perpa in the district late last evening and resorted to indiscriminate firing soon after the blast . Police have launched a search operation after the incident. Earlier, two BSF jawans were killed in the Maoists ambush in Kanker district yesterday. Our corresponden has filed this report:

The day ‘Yesterday’ turned out to be bleak for the police in Chhattisgarh even as the naxlaites observed a black day. Following this, the police in the state had been kept on a high alert. In a single day yesterday naxalites killed 6 jawans and injured 7 others in two separate incidents in the Bastar division of the state. Barely some hours after shooting dead two jawans of the BSF in the Kanker district yesterday, naxalites triggered a powerful landmine in the Dantewada district killing 4 policemen of the state police, besides damaging the vehicle they were traveling in. the blood-chilling regularity with which the naxal attacks have been claiming the lives of the security forces in the state has indeed become a cause for concern. The West Bengal government has started the process of returning 400 acres of land to the unwilling farmers of Singur. The State Industry Minister Mr. Partho Chatterjee said in Kolkata yesterday that the farmers have been asked to submit their filled forms along with land deeds to the district magistrate within a month. Our correspondent reports that the state government recently passed Singur Land Rehabilitation and Development Act 2011 scrapping the lease agreement with Tata Motors which provided land to them at Singur. The Tata Motors moved the Kolkata High Court challenging the Act and the matter will be again taken up for hearing today.

The CBI has registered a preliminary enquiry against Balakrishna, a close aide of yoga guru Ramdev, for allegedly using forged documents to acquire multiple passports. Earlier, the CBI had received a complaint that Balakrishna has got two passports through illegal means. Speaking to our correspondent, CBI sources said the allegations are that Balakrishna had fudged certain documents and has multiple passports, which is a punishable offence under the Indian Passport Act.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has announced the decision of the state government to waive off the 5 per cent value added tax (VAT) on Kerosene. Our correspondent reports that the decision to make Kerosene VAT-free would make it cheaper by 70 paise per litre.

In tune, with the directions from the Centre to the Chief Ministers in Congress ruled states, Haryana Government yesterday announced waiver of 5 percent Value Added Tax on kerosone providing some relief to the common men from recent fuel price hike. The State Government was levying 5 percent VAT on kerosone. The decision would make kerosene cheaper by 70 paise per litre. Consumers in Haryana now would have to pay 14 rupees per litre instead of 14 rupees 70 paise per litre. Haryana Government had already waived four percent VAT on LPG too in 2008 and charging 9.24 percent VAT on diesel including surcharge, which is lowest in the country. कलकत्ता उच्च न्यायालय ने सिंगूर में टाटा मोटर्स छोटी कार परियोजना द्वारा अधिगृहीत भूमि, किसानों को लौटाने के पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार के फैसले पर अंतरिम रोक लगाने से इंकार कर दिया है। न्यायमूर्ति प्रताप राय की अध्यक्षता वाली पीठ ने पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार के फैसले पर अंतरिम आदेश के लिए मौखिक अपील की जगह लिखित मुकदमा दायर करने को कहा। उधर, पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार ने उच्चतम न्यायालय में आपत्ति अर्जी दायर की है ताकि न्यायालय टाटा मोटर्स की किसी भी अपील पर एकतरफा सुनवाई नहीं करे।

इस बीच राज्य सरकार ने उन किसानों की जमीन वापस करने की प्रक्रिया शुरू कर दी है जो अपनी जमीन नहीं देना चाहते। हुगली के जिला अधिकारी को अब तक सात सौ 74 आवेदन पत्र मिल चुके हैं। उद्योग मंत्री पार्थ चटर्जी ने बताया कि दावों के बारे में छानबीन की प्रक्रिया एक महीने में पूरी कर ली जायेगी। चार सौ एकड़ वाली इस जमीन के सर्वे का प्रारंभिक कार्य शुरू कर दिया गया है।

मुम्बई पुलिस ने खोजी पत्रकार ज्योतिर्मय डे की हत्या की गुत्थी सुलझा लेने का दावा किया है। इस सिलसिले में महाराष्ट्र और तमिलनाडु से सात लोग गिरतार किये गये हैं। मुम्बई पुलिस के संयुक्त आयुक्त हिमांशु रॉय ने बताया कि तीन लोगों को रामेश्वरम से, तीन को मुम्बई से और एक व्यक्ति को शोलापुर से गिरतार किया गया है। ये सभी आरोपी छोटा राजन गिरोह के लिए काम करते थे और उसने ही यह हत्या करवाई। प्रमुख आरोपी सतीश कालिया द्वारा किये गये खुलासे के हवाले से श्री रॉय ने बताया कि छोटा राजन ने ज्योतिर्मय डे की हत्या के लिए पैसा और हथियार मुहैया कराये। सभी आरोपी महाराष्ट्र के हैं, जो हत्या को अंजाम देने के बाद महाराष्ट्र और तमिलनाडु में विभिन्न स्थानों पर चले गये। श्री रॉय ने कहा कि हत्या के मकसद के बारे में अभी कुछ पता नहीं चला है। पुलिस ने हत्या में इस्तेमाल किये गये हथियार, तीन मोटरसाइकिल और एक कार भी बरामद की है।
हमारी संवाददाता ने बताया है कि महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री पृथ्वीराज चव्हाण ने इस हत्याकांड की गुत्थी को सुलझाने के लिए मुम्बई पुलिस को बधाई दी है।
जे डे हत्याकाण्ड की गुत्थी सुलझाने पर मुंबई पुलिस को बधाई देते हुए महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री पृथ्वीराज चौहान ने कहा कि उन्हें पूरा विश्वास था कि मुंबई पुलिस यह केस सुलझा लेगी और इसी वजह से उन्होंने यह मामला सीबीआई को नहीं सौंपा। मुंबई पुलिस कमिश्नर अरूप पटनायक ने कहा है कि अब मुंबई पुलिस अभियुक्तों के खिलाफ एक मजबूत केस तैयार करने में जुट जायेगी वहीं मुंबई पुलिस के सहआयुक्त हिमांशु रॉय ने पत्रकारों को बतााय कि सभी सात अभियुक्तों को अगले महीने की चार तारीख तक पुलिस हिरासत में रखने का आदेश कोर्ट ने दिया है। इन सात अभियुक्तों के खिलाफ मकोका लगाये जाने की संभावना है। सुधा रामसुब्रह्‌मणियम आकाशवाणी समाचार मुंबई।

कांग्रेस ने उत्तर प्रदेश में कानून व्यवस्था की बिगड़ती स्थिति और महिलाओं पर बढ़ती हिंसा के मद्देनज+र मायावती सरकार को बर्खास्त करने की मांग की है। पार्टी की राज्य इकाई ने इस बारे में आज राज्यपाल बी. एल. जोशी को एक ज्ञापन दिया। पार्टी ने ज्ञापन में आरोप लगाया है कि विभिन्न आपराधिक गतिविधियों में बहुजन समाज पार्टी के कई सांसद और विधायक कथित रूप से शामिल थे, जिनमें से कुछ जेल में हैं। हमारे संवाददाता ने खबर दी है कि आज लखनऊ में कांग्रेस के न्याय मार्च के दौरान गिरफ्‌तार किये गये पार्टी नेताओं को छोड़ दिया गया है।
कांग्रेस नेताओं को न्यायमार्च निकालने के प्रयास में पुलिस ने हिरासत में ले लिया और हल्का बल प्रयोग कर कार्यकर्ताओं को तितर-बितर कर दिया। पार्टी ने राज्य में गिरती कानून व्यवस्था और महिलाओं के विरूद्ध बढ़ती हिंसाओं की गतिविधियों के मद्देनजर राज्यपाल से सीधे हस्तक्षेप की मांग की है। पार्टी ने हाल की हिंसात्मक घटनाओं की सीबीआई जांच कराने की मांग भी की है। कांग्रेस ने दो दिन पहले कानून व्यवस्था के मुद्दे को लेकर राज्य व्यापी धरना प्रदर्शन आयोजित किया था। राज्य कांग्रेस ने न्याय मार्च के लिए अनुमति नहीं दिये जाने को राज्य सरकार का फांसी वादी रवैया कहा है। सुनील शुक्ल आकाशवाणी समाचार लखनऊ।

कानून मंत्री ने कहा कि संसद के मानसून सत्र में पेश किये जाने वाले भूमि अधिग्रहण विधेयक में राष्ट्रीय सलाहकार परिषद की सिफारिशें निश्चित रूप से शामिल की जायेंगी।

उच्चतम न्यायालय ने गे्रटर नोएडा में कीमती लैट बनाने के लिए उपजाऊ कृषि भूमि के अधिग्रहण के लिए उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार की आलोचना की है। न्यायमूर्ति सथाशिवम और ए. के. पटनायक की पीठ ने आपात धारा के इस्तेमाल पर सवाल उठाया है, जिसके तहत किसानों को आपत्ति दर्ज कराने पर रोक है।

भारत और न्यूजीलैंड के बीच अगले वर्ष मार्च तक मुक्त व्यापार समझौता हो जाने की आशा है। भारत के दौरे पर आये न्यूजीलैंड के प्रधानमंत्री जॉन की ने आज शाम नई दिल्ली में मीडिया से बातचीत में यह जानकारी दी। उन्होंने कहा कि दोनों देश समझौता पूरा करने के लिए चार से पांच दौर की बातचीत करेंगे। उन्होंने आशा व्यक्त की कि वर्ष 2015 तक दोनों देशों के बीच आपसी व्यापार बढ़ कर दुगना हो जायेगा। इस समय दोनों देशों के बीच एक अरब 20 हजार न्यूजीलैंड डॉलर का व्यापार होता है। वे कल हैदराबाद हाउस में प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन ंिसह के साथ शिष्टमंडल स्तर की बातचीत करेंगे।
विदेश मंत्रालय के प्रवक्ता विष्णु प्रकाश ने संवाददाताओं को बताया कि हैदराबाद हाउस में वार्ता के बाद कई समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर और संयुक्त बयान जारी किए जाने की आशा है। दोनों नेता क्षेत्रीय, अंतर्राष्ट्रीय और आपसी हित के अन्य मुद्दों पर भी विचार-विमर्श करेंगे।

रक्षा मंत्री ए0 के0 एंटनी ने समुद्री लुटेरों से निपटने के लिए संयुक्त राष्ट्र के अन्तर्गत अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पहल का आह्‌वान किया है। आज नई दिल्ली में केन्द्रीय सैनिक बोर्ड की 29वीं बैठक में उन्होंने कहा कि अमरीका, ब्रिटेन, फ्रांस, चीन और रूस सहित विश्व के सभी प्रमुख देशों की नौसेना इस समस्या पर काबू पाने में लगी हैं। इसके बावजूद बड़े पैमाने पर अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पहल के बिना इससे निपटना कठिन है।
रक्षा मंत्री ने बताया कि पिछने 12 महीनों के दौरान लक्ष्यद्वीप के आसपास समुद्री लुटेरों ने जहाजों को लूटने के कई प्रयास किए। उन्होंने कहा कि इस समुद्री क्षेत्र में सेना और तटरक्षक बल ने गश्त बढ़ा दी है।
भारतीय नौसेना और तटरक्षक बलों ने अपनी निगरानी और तैनाती बढ़ा दी है। अब देश के समुद्री तटों की रक्षा हमारी प्राथमिकता है। भारतीय नौसेना इसके साथ के अन्य क्षेत्रों की भी निगरानी कर रही है। लेकिन जब तक संयुक्त अभियान नहीं चलाया जाता मुझे नहीं लगता इस समस्या से निपटा जा सकता है।

फ्रांस में भारत के राजदूत रंजन मथाई अगले विदेश सचिव होंगे। वे श्रीमती निरूपमा राव का स्थान लेंगे जो 31 जुलाई को अवकाश ग्रहण कर रही हैं। श्रीमती राव को अमरीका में देश का राजदूत नियुक्त किया गया है। विदेश मंत्रालय के प्रवक्ता विष्णु प्रकाश ने बताया कि भारतीय विदेश सेवा के 1974 बैच के अधिकारी श्री मथाई पहली अगस्त को अपना कार्यभार ग्रहण करेंगे और उनका कार्यकाल दो वर्ष का होगा।

केन्द्र ने राज्य सरकारों से आग्रह किया है कि वे आम आदमी को कुछ राहत देने के लिए डीज+ल, केरोसिन और रसोई गैस पर केन्द्र सरकार द्वारा शुल्क में कटौती की तर्ज पर लेवी में कटौती करें। वित्तमंत्री प्रणव मुखर्जी ने मुख्यमंत्रियों को पत्र लिखकर कहा है कि केन्द्र ने अब तक डीज+ल, केरोसिन और रसोई गैस की खुदरा कीमतों पर नियंत्रण रखा है, लेकिन अब अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बाजार में कच्चे तेल की कीमतें बहुत अधिक हो गयी हैं, इसलिए राज्यों को अपने स्तर पर करों में कटौती कर सहयोग करना चाहिए।

वित्त मंत्री प्रणब मुखर्जी की अमरीका यात्रा के दौरान वाशिंगटन में उनके और अमरीका के वित्त मंत्री तिमोथी गिएथनेर के बीच बुनियादी ढांचा क्षेत्र में अमरीकी निवेश, वित्त बाजार में सुधार तथा व्यापार असंतुलन कम करने के लिए जी-20 देशों के बीच सहयोग बढ़ाने पर विशेष रूप से चर्चा होगी। अपने अमरीका प्रवास के दौरान श्री मुखर्जी वहां के उद्योगपतियों से मिलेंगे और विदेशी निवेशकों को आश्वस्त करेंगे कि भारत विदेशी निवेश के लिए एक आकर्षक देश है। वित्त मंत्री के साथ एक उच्चस्तरीय शिष्टमंडल भी गया हुआ है।

जम्मू कश्मीर में आज पुलवामा जिले के त्राल क्षेत्र में सुरक्षाबलों के साथ मुठभेड़ में हिजबुल मुजाहिद्दीन के दो आंतकवादी मारे गये हैं। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया है कि मुठभेड़ स्थल से दो एके-47 राइफल, दो गे्रनेड और कुछ गोलाबारूद बरामद किये गये हैं।
पुलवामा जिले के रखसुना त्राल क्षेत्र में कल रात से मिलिट्रेन और पुलिस के बीच जारी मुठभेड आज सुबह खत्म हुई। मारे गये मिलिट्रेनों की पहचान हिजबुल मुजाहिद्दीन गुट सेवा मुजफ्‌फार उर्फ गोहार और सोहेल अहमद उर्फ फुर्खान के रूप में की गई। उन्होंने कहा कि मक्का में मिलिट्रीन काल इलाके में पिछले कई दिनों से सक्रिय थे। 12 घंटों तक चलने वाली इस गोलीबारी में एक मकामी नागरिक का मकान पूरी तरह नष्ट हुआ है। जबकि मुठभेड के दौरान दो सुरक्षाकर्मी भी घायल हो गये हैं। मीर नजीर आकाशवाणी समाचार पुलवामा।

असम में सुरक्षाबलों ने बक्सा और धेमाजी जिलों से आज शांति वार्ता का विरोध कर रहे नेशनल डेमोक्रेटिक फ्रंंट के छह कट्टर उग्रवादियों को गिरतार किया है। मुखबिरों से मिली सूचना के आधार पर सेना, सीआरपीएफ और पुलिस के संयुक्त दल ने बक्सा में सियालमारी गांव में एक घर में पनाह लिए दो उग्रवादियों को गिरतार किया।

The Calcutta High Court has refused to pass an interim order restraining the West Bengal government from returning to farmers the land acquired for Tata Motors small car project at Singur. A division Bench headed by Justice Pratap Roy asked the petitioner Tata Motors to file the law suit in writing instead of verbal appeal seeking an interim stay on the West Bengal Government’s move. Meanwhile, West Bengal government has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court so that any petition by Tata Motors on the issue is not heard ex-parte.

Earlier, a Single Bench of the Calcutta High Court also refused to grant stay order sought by Tata Motors.

Mumbai police claims to have cracked the murder case of veteran crime journalist Jyotirmoy Dey with the arrest of seven people from Mahararashtra and Tamil Nadu. Addressing a press conference in Mumbai along with Mumbai police commissioner Arup Patnaik, Joint Commissioner of Police Himanshu Roy stated that all the accused have been arrested and sent to police custody till the 4th of July. Three shooters were arrested from Rameshwaram, three from Mumbai and one from Solapur. Mr. Roy informed that all the seven accused worked for the Chhota Rajan gang and Chhota Rajan ordered the killing. Giving an account of the murder plot revealed by the interrogation of prime shooter Satish Kaliya, Mr. Roy stated that Chhota Rajan supplied money and weapons for the killing. Police however did not reveal the motive behind the murder. Roy stated that the weapon three motorcycles, a Qualis vehicle and mobile phones used for carrying out the murder, have been recovered. Maharashtra Home Minister RR Patil announced a reward of 10 lakh rupees for Mumbai crime branch team for cracking the case. Our Correspondent reports that the Chief Minister lauded the Mumbai police for the success.

The Congress has demanded the dismissal of Mayawati government for deteriorating law and order situation and spurt in violence against women in Uttar Pradesh. State Unit of the party has handed over a memorandum to Governor B.L. Joshi in Lucknow today. Congress has also demanded a CBI inquiry into a number of incidents that took place recently in the state including the murder of a teenage girl by a group of policemen in Lakhimpur Kheri district, killing of two CMOs and mysterious death of a Deputy CMO in Lucknow jail and death of farmers in police firing at Bhatta Parsul villages in Gautam Buddha Nagar district. In its memorandum, the party has alleged that several BSP MPs and MLAs are allegedly involved in different criminal activities and some of them are in jail. Our correspondent reports that Congress leaders, who were arrested while taking out a Nyaya March in Lucknow today, have been released.

The Supreme Court has criticised Uttar Pradesh government for acquiring prime agricultural land for building luxury flats in Greater Noida, adjoining the national capital. A bench comprising Justices P Sathasivam and A K Patnaik today questioned the invoking of urgency clause that bars farmers from raising objections. The apex court said, it would not like a situation similar to Nandigaram in West Bengal where steps to acquire land by invoking urgency clause led to large-scale protests and violence. The hard-hitting observations were made by the court during the hearing on petitions filed by Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority and real estate developers and builders challenging the Allahabad High Court order which had quashed the notifications for land acquisition in Greater Noida. Without issuing notice, the apex court posted the matter for detailed hearing on July 5th.

Law Minister Virappa Moily has said that the National Advisory Council's recommendations on land acquisition will certainly be included in the Land Acquisition Bill to be introduced in Monsoon session of Parliament. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, Mr Moily said, once it becomes an Act, it will take care of the aspirations of the land losing people in the country.

In a letter to the government, the National Advisory Council chaired by Congress President Sonia Gandhi has suggested a checklist of seven parameters which includes provisions for rehabilitation package that is sensitive to the aspirations of the affected people.

India and New Zealand are likely to conclude a free-trade agreement by March next year. This was disclosed by the visiting New Zealand Prime Minister John Key in New Delhi this evening. He told media persons that the two countries will hold four to five rounds of talks to finalise the agreement. He expressed hope that the trade between the two countries will double by 2015. It is at present 1.2 billion New Zealand Dollars. Mr. Key said, agricultural imports from New Zealand may help bringing down food inflation in India. He will hold delegation level talks with his Indian counterpart Dr. Manmohan Singh at Hyderabad house tomorrow. External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vishnu Prakash told reporters that several agreements are expected to be signed after the talks at Hyderabad House and a joint statement is also expected. Earlier, in the day Mr. Key visited historic Taj Mahal in Agra. He reached the national capital on a five-day visit to India yesterday.

India's Ambassador to France, Ranjan Mathai will be the next Foreign Secretary. He succeeds Mrs. Nirupama Rao, who retires on the 31st of July. Mrs. Rao will take over as India's Ambassador to the United States. Mr Mathai, a 1974-batch IFS officer, will assume office on the 1st of August.

Defence Minister A K Antony has called for international effort under the United Nations to tackle piracy. Speaking on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi today, Mr Antony said, even though all the major navies of the world, including those of the US, UK, France, China and Russia were involved, without such an international effort, it will be difficult to tackle the problem.

The Defence Minister said, in the last 12 months, there have been more than a dozen attempts by the pirates mostly around the Lakshadweep area. He said the government's top priority is to protect the vast coastline of the country.

Earlier, speaking at the 29th meeting of Kendriya Sainik Board, Mr Antony urged all the state governments to take steps to ensure reservation in jobs for ex-servicemen. He also requested all Public sector undertakings to provide maximum job opportunities to them.

The Centre has urged the state governments to reduce levies on Diesel, Kerosene and cooking gas in line with the duty cuts undertaken by the union government to provide some relief to the common man. In a letter to Chief Ministers of states, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said the Centre has so far maintained a firm grip over the prices of diesel, LPG and kerosene at the retail level even as the prices of crude are very high in the international market and sought states' cooperation in doing the same by reducing taxes at their level.

In a move to provide relief from the recent hike in petroleum products, Delhi Government has decided to reduce diesel prices by 37 paise in the national capital and LPG cylinders by 40 rupees for BPL and Antyodaya families. Diesel will now cost Rs 40.75 a litre in Delhi for all consumers while LPG will be priced at 355.35 rupees per cylinder for families covered under BPL and Antyodaya schemes. The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting chaired by Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit today.

After hitting Delhi three days ahead of schedule, the South-West monsoon will further advance over some parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat. The Met Department said today. It said the country has so far received 10 per cent more rains than normal. Arrival of monsoon a few days ahead of schedule in the Northern part of India has brought an end to more than a week of humid heat and people got relief from saltry conditions. Due to the south-west monsoon, Delhi and many places in Punjab and Haryana were lashed by rains for the third day today.
