वित्त मंत्री प्रणब मुखर्जी की अध्यक्षता वाला अधिकार प्राप्त मंत्री समूह स्पेक्ट्रम की नीलामी के लिए न्यूनतम मूल्य का निर्धारण करेगा। दूरसंचार सचिव आर. चन्द्रशेखर ने आज नई दिल्ली में पत्रकारों को यह जानकारी दी। उन्होंने बताया कि स्पेक्ट्रम का आधार मूल्य निश्चित करने के लिए दूरसंचार आयोग की बैठक दो बार हुई लेकिन आयोग ने इसका निर्णय अधिकार प्राप्त मंत्री समूह पर छोड़ दिया।श्री चन्द्रशेखर ने बताया कि दूरसंचार विभाग कुछ ब्यौरा तैयार करेगा जो मंत्री समूह के सामने रखा जाएगा।

केन्द्रीय अन्वेषण ब्यूरो-सी. बी. आई. ने आय से अधिक सम्पत्ति के मामले में आज लगातार दूसरे दिन वाई.एस. आर. कांग्रेस पार्टी के अध्यक्ष वाइर्. एस. जगनमोहन रेड्डी से पूछताछ की। उनसे हैदराबाद में सी. बी. आई. के कैम्प कार्यालय में कड़ी सुरक्षा के बीच करीब साढ़े सात घंटे तक पूछताछ की गई। पूछताछ के दौरान श्री रेड्डी के वकील भी मौजूद थे। पूछताछ जगनमोहन रेड्डी की कंपंनियों में निवेश के मुद्दे पर केन्द्रित थी। कल भी उनसे करीब आठ घंटे तक पूछताछ की गई थी।सी. बी. आई. ने पिछले साल कड़प्पा के सांसद जगनमोहन रेड्डी और इकहत्तर अन्य लोगों के खिलाफ मामला दर्ज करते हुए आरोप लगाया था कि उन्होंने व्यक्तिगत लाभ के लिए अपने पिता और आन्ध्र प्रदेश के तत्कालीन मुख्यमंत्री वाई. एस. राजशेखर रेड्डी से कुछ कंपंनियों के पक्ष में फैसला लेने की साजिश रची थी।
इस मामले में अब तक राज्य के आबकारी मंत्री एम. वेंकटरमन्ना सहित चार व्यक्ति गिरफ्तार किए जा चुके हैंं।

भारत ने ओड़ीशा में चांदीपुर परीक्षण स्थल से आज फिर जमीन से हवा में मार करने वाली आकाश मिसाइल का परीक्षण किया। स्वदेश निर्मित इस मिसाइल का सफल परीक्षण बृहस्पतिवार को भी किया गया था। परियोजना से जुड़े रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन के अधिकारियों ने बताया कि आकाश मिसाइल के फिर से परीक्षण का उद्देश्य इसकी प्रौद्योगिकी और संचालन दक्षता की पुष्टि करना था। आकाश मिसाइल साठ किलोग्राम तक के विस्फोटक ले जाने में सक्षम है और पच्चीस किलोमीटर तक मार कर सकती है।-----
प्रधानमंत्री डाक्टर मनमोहन सिंह ने आज राष्ट्रपति भवन में राष्ट्रपति प्रतिभा देवी सिंह पाटील से भेंट की। राष्ट्रपति भवन की विज्ञप्ति के अनुसार यह मुलाकात लगभग चालीस मिनट तक चली। उन्होंने हाल ही में संपन्न हुए संसद के बजट सत्र, अर्थव्यवस्था और राजनीतिक स्थिति पर चर्चा की। डाक्टर सिंह ने कल से शुरू हो रही म्यामां की अपनी यात्रा के बारे में भी राष्ट्रपति को जानकारी दी।-----
नेपाल में मुख्य राजनीतिक दल यूसीपीएन-माओवादी, नेपाली कांग्रेस, सीपीएन-यूएमएल और संयुक्त लोकतांत्रिक मधेसी मोर्चा संविधान का मसौदा तैयार करने और राज्यों के पुनर्गठन के बारे में मतभेद दूर करने में विफल रहे हैं। यह बैठक आज काठमांडू में प्रधानमंत्री निवास में हुई। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया है कि संविधान सभा और संसद की बैठक कल तक के लिए स्थगित कर दी गई है।नये संविधान का मसौदा तैयार करने के लिए केवल एक दिन शेष रह गया है और चार प्रमुख राजनीतिक दल राज्य पूनर्गठन जैसे महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दे पर अपने मतभेद अभी तक नहीं सुलझा पाये हैं। आज हुई बैठक में भी मतभेद को दूर नहीं किया जा सका। यूसीपीएन- माओवादी नेता नारायण काजी श्रेष्ठ ने आरोप लगाया कि नेपाली कांग्रेस और सीपीएन-यूएमएल अपने रूख पर अड़े रहे और राज्यों की संख्या कितनी हो और मतदान संबंधी मानदंड क्या हो, इसपर कोई सहमति नहीं बन पायी। नये संविधान का मसौदा तैयार करने के लिए संविधान सभा का गठन चार वर्ष पहले किया गया था, लेकिन अंतिम कुछ महीनों के दौरान ही इस मसौदे पर गंभीर चर्चा हो सकी।

अफगानिस्तान के उत्तरी सरे पुल प्रांत में पिछले सप्ताह अचानक आयी बाढ़ में मृतकों की संख्या ५० हो गयी है। आज की खबरों में प्रांतीय अधिकारियों के हवाले से बताया गया है कि भारी बरसात के बाद आयी बाढ़ में पचास लोग मारे गये जिनमें से अधिकतर महिलाएं और बच्चे हैं। हजारों लोग बेघर हो गये हैं और दर्जनों अब भी लापता हैं। सरे पुल प्रांत के २६० गांवों के ५९ हजार लोगों पर बाढ़ का असर पड़ा है।-----
अफगानिस्तान की संसद के निचले सदन वोलेसी जिरगा ने आज अमरीका के साथ हाल में हुए दीर्घकालीन सामरिक साझेदारी संधि को मंजूरी दे दी है। इस तरह २०१४ में सभी विदेच्ची सेनाओं की अफगानिस्तान से वापसी के बाद भी अमरीका के अफगानिस्तान में रहने का रास्ता साफ हो गया है। यह संधि २०१४ के बाद एक दच्चक की अवधि के लिए है।-----

जम्मू कश्मीर में पुलिस को आज बड़ी सफलता प्राप्त हुई, जब उसने रामबन जिले के गुल इलाके में सेना के साथ संयुक्त कार्रवाई में हिजबुल मुजाहिद्दीन के कट्टर आतंकवादी गुलाम कादिर उर्फ तौहीद-उल-इस्लाम को मार गिराया। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया है कि मारे गये आतंकी के पास से एक एके ५६ राइफल सहित कई हथियार और गोला बारूद बरामद हुए हैं।खुंखार आंतकी रामबन जिला के गुल और बानयाल इलाकें में आतंक और भय का माहौल पैदा किया था और क्षेत्र में आतंकवादी को बराबर जिंदा रखा था। कुल वर्ष पहले इलाके में सेना के तीन जवानों की हत्या में भी उसका हाथ था। वो लोगों और व्यापारियों से जबरन पैसा वसुल करने की कई वारदातों में शामिल था। इस बीच सुरक्षा बलों ने एक और कार्रवाई के दौरान रियासी के माहोर जंगलों में आतंकियों की एक छुपने की जगह को नष्ट करके भारी मात्रा में हथियार और गोली बारूद बरामत किया, जो कि पिछले एक साल से जब्त किये गये हथियारों की सबसे बड़ी खेप है।

उत्तर भारत में आज भी भीषण गर्मी जारी रही और कई स्थानों में तापमान ४५ डिग्री सेल्सियस को पार कर गया।पंजाब और हरियाणा के अनेक स्थानों में गर्मी का प्रकोप जारी रहा। मौसम विभाग के अनुसार चंडीगढ़ में अधिकतम तापमान ४० दशमलव ३ डिग्री सेल्सियस रिकार्ड किया गया, जो सामान्य से एक डिग्री सेल्सियस अधिक है।
उत्तर प्रदेश के कई इलाकों में तेज गर्मी बनी रही। राज्य में इलाहाबाद सबसे अधिक गर्म रहा।
राजस्थान में धूल भरी गर्म हवा चलने से लोगों को परेशानी हुई। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया है कि राज्य में वनस्थली में अधिकतम तापमान ४४ दशमलव ४ डिग्री सेल्सियस रिकार्ड किया गया।
प्रदेश के ज्यादातर इलाकों में अधिकतम तापमान ४० से ४४ डिग्री सेल्सियस के बीच दर्ज किया जा रहा है। आज चुरू में अधिकतम तापमान ४४ डिग्री था जबकि जयपुर, अजमेर और बाड़मेर में ये ४१ डिग्री सेल्सियस था। सरकार ग्रामीण इलाकों में पानी के टेंकरों के जरीये पीने के पानी की आपूर्ति बहाल किये हुए है। प्रदेश के रेगिस्तानी इलाकों में अंधड़ के कारण भी सड़क यातायात प्रभावित हो रहा है। मौसम विभाग के अनुसार फिलहाल अगले दो-तीन दिनों तक राज्य में गर्मी से राहत के कोई आसार नहीं है।

उधर, ओड़िशा में सम्बलपुर सबसे गर्म रहा, जहां तापमान ४६ दशमलव सात डिग्री सेल्सियस पहुंच गया।
लेकिन राजधानी दिल्ली में लोगों को भीषण गर्मी से कुछ राहत मिली, यहां अधिकतम तापमान कल के ४४ डिग्री सेल्सियस की तुलना में ४२ दशमलव सात डिग्री सेल्सियस रिकार्ड किया गया।
राजधानी में आज भी तेज धूप और लू का प्रकोप जारी रहा जिससे लोगों को उमस भरी गर्मी से कोई राहत नहीं मिली। गर्मी से बचने के लिए लोग घरों में रहना ज्यादा पसंद कर रहे है। इसके अलावा शीतल पेय पदार्थों के दुकानों पर भी लोगों की अच्छी भीड़ देखी जा रही है। लेकिन दूसरी और दिल्ली के विभिन्न हिस्सों में बिजली की बढ़ती मांग के कारण बिजली की कटौती भी की जा रही है। जिससे लोगों की परेशानियां और बढ़ गई है। मौसम विभाग के अनुसार दिल्ली वासियों को फिलहाल अलगे कुछ दिनों तक गर्मी से कोई राहत मिलने की उम्मीद नहीं है।

A high-powered ministerial panel headed by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will decide on the minimum price to be fixed for auction of spectrum. Talking to reporters in NewDeihi today, Telecom Secretary R. Chandrashekhar said that the Telecom Commission which met for the second time deliberated on the base price suggested by the sector regulator TRAI but decided to leave it to the Empowered Group of Ministers to decide on auction price for the airwaves.
The Telecom Secretary said DoT will also make certain analysis which will be presented before Empowered Group of Ministers on telecom.

The CBI has interrogated Kadapa Lok Sabha member and YSR Congress Party President Y.S. Jagamohan Reddy for nearly seven and half hours on the second day today in connection with the disproportionate assets case. Amidst tight security arrangements at its camp office in Hyderabad, the CBI questioned him till 6 o'clock in the evening.
While leaving for his residence, Jaganmohan Reddy told media that he has been asked to come again tomorrow. He also said the CBI had asked some more clarifications and he provided the same to the central agency.
The interrogation continued in the presence of his advocates and was reportedly focused on the investments in Jaganmohan Reddy’s companies. The CBI had grilled the Kadapa MP for nearly eight hours yesterday.

In Andhra Pradesh, the Election Commission has rejected a total 84 nominations in the bye-elections for a Lok Sabha and 18 Assembly Constituencies. After scrutiny of nomination papers today, the election authorities have found a total 281 nominations in proper form. Out of which, 13 nominations are filed for Nellore Lok Sabha constituency while rest of the 268 filed for 18 Assembly seats.
Coming Monday is the last date of withdrawal of nominations and the polling will be held on 12th of next month. The Bye-election is necessitated following resignation of Nellore sitting Lok Sabha member and disqualification of 18 sitting MLAs in the state.

The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh today called on the President Mrs Pratibha Devisingh Patil at Rashtrapati Bhawan. In Jammu and Kashmir Police today achieved a major success when of the most dreaded terrorist of Hizbul Mujahideen Ghulam Qadir alias Toheed-ul-Islam operating in Gool area of Ramban district in Jammu division was eliminated in a joint Operation with Army. The slain militant was active in Banihal-Gool area of district Ramban for the last 7 years.
One AK 56 Rifle with 3 magazines, 1 pouch, 1 matrix sheet and 54 live rounds of AK were recovered from the slain militant. Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Dilbag Singh told AIR Jammu Correspondent about the killing of the dreaded terrorist.
The killing of the terrorist is a major achievement as he was the most wanted terrorist commander of Hizbul Mujahideen in Gool and Banihal area and was responsible for keeping the militancy and insurgency alive in the area. India today again test fired the indigenously developed surface-to-air Akash missile from the test range at Chandipur in Odisha. The missile was successfully test fired on Thursday from the same test range. DRDO officials associated with the project said that the re-launch is meant to revalidate the technology and operational efficiency of the missile. It has a strike range of 25 kilolometers with a warhead of 60 kilograms. Akash, an anti-aircraft defence system can simultaneously engage several targets.

In Nepal, the main political parties, the UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and the alliance of the Samyukta Loktantrik madhesi Morcha have failed to resolve the differences in the constitution drafting specially on state restructuring. UCPN (Maoist ) leader, Narayan Shrestha said that the situation is crucial as the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML have stuck to their stand and they could not come to any consensus . He said that they proposed that they should go for fourteen states based on ethnicity, if not voting should be held in the Assembly.

The death toll in flash floods in Sari Pul province of northern Afghanistan last week has gone up to 50. Reports quoting provincial officials said today that heavy rains followed by floods killed 50 people so far most of them women and children. Thousands of people have become homeless and dozens are still missing. Floods have affected around 59,000 people in 260 villages of the Sari Pul province.

Heat wave continued to grip North India today with temperatures breaching the 45 degree mark at several places in the region.
Uttar Pradesh sizzled under an intense heat wave with the temperature rising up to five degrees above normal at some places in the state. Allahabad continued to be the hottest place in the state recording 47.2 degrees Celsius, followed by Agra with 46.1 degrees Celsius.
Dusty winds and rising mercury scorched Rajasthan as well with the average temperature staying above 40 degrees Celsius in most places. Our Jaipur correspondent reports that Vanasthali is the hottest place in the state where maximum temperature was recorded 44.4 degree Celsius.
Today maximum temperature has slightly decreased at most of the places but normal life is being affected as the temperatures are ranging between 40 to 44 degree Celsius in the state. At Churu today maximum temp. was 44 and at Jaipur, Ajmer, and Barmer it was 41 degree Celsius. In western and northern parts problem of drinking water is increasing and government is supplying drinking water by water tankers in rural areas. Odisha is reeling under intense heat wave with Sambalpur remaining hottest place in the State where the mercury soared to 46.7 degree Celsius today.
Heat wave continued to sweep across the national capital today with the day temperature soaring to above normal. According to the MeT department, the maximum temperature was recorded 42.7 degree celcius which was two degree above normal while the minimum temperature settled at 32.5 degree celcius, 5 notches above normal. Dubai has the distinction of Burj Khalifa, the 2720 ft high tallest structure in the world. Now it has another one, the world’s tallest residential building , the Princess Towers. The 1356 ft. high tower, topped with a crown, is located in Dubai Marina. It has 107 floors with six basements and it has 763 apartments. The world’s tallest residential building occupies an area of 37,410 square feet and has amusement facilities and retail stores all under one roof. The mankind’s quest to scale new heights continues.
