प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा है कि असम हिंसा की पूरी जांच की जाएगी और हिंसा भड़काने के दोषी पाये गए लोगों को सजा दी जाएगी। डॉ० मनमोहन सिंह ने प्रभावित जिलों के लिए तीन सौ करोड़ रुपये के राहत पैकेज की घोषणा की है। डॉ० ंिसह ने हिंसा में मारे गये लोगों के परिवारों को प्रधानमंत्री राष्ट्रीय राहत कोष से दो-दो लाख रुपये देने की भी  घोषणा की है। हिंसा में गंभीर रूप से घायलों को पचास-पचास हजार रुपये, और जिनके घर पूरी तरह तबाह हो गए हैं उन्हें तीस-तीस हजार रुपये दिए जायेंगे। जिनके घरों को आंशिक रूप से नुकसान पहुंचा है उन्हें बीस-बीस हजार रुपये दिए जायेंगे। हिंसा से सबसे ज्यादा प्रभावित कोकराझार जि+ले के एक राहत शिविर का दौरा करने के बाद प्रधानमंत्री ने राहत शिविरों में रह रहे लोगों को केंद्र की हर संभव सहायता का भरोसा दिलाया। डॉक्टर सिह ने कहा कि हिंसा प्रभावित इलाकों में लोगों को सुरक्षा देने के लिए केन्द्र और राज्य सरकार मिलकर काम कर रहे हैं। उन्होंने हिंसा को राष्ट्र के लिए कलंक बताते हुए कहा कि किसी भी तरह की हिंसा बर्दाश्त नहीं की जाएगी।

मुझे यह जानकर बहुत अफसोस हुआ है कि यह दर्दनाक जो वारदात हुई हैं, नहीं होनी चाहिए। यह हमारे मुल्क के माथे पर कलंक है। सब को मिलकर यह कोशिश करनी चाहिए कि एक बार फिर सद्भावना बहाल हो। इस वक्त जरूरत इस बात की है कि हीलिंग टच दी जाए। कुछ दिक्कतें थी लेकिन धीरे धीरे उस पर काबू पाया जा रहा है।

हमारे गुवाहाटी संवाददाता ने खबर दी है कि स्थिति तेजी से सामान्य हो रही है और हिंसा प्रभावित इलाकों से दिन का कर्फ्यू हटा लिया गया है।

प्रधानमंत्री के हिंसा प्रभावित कोकराझार जिले का दौरा करने के बाद विभिन्न समुदायों के बीच विश्वास बहाली में बढ़ावा मिलेगा। डॉ० सिंह ने हिंसा ग्रस्त जगहों पर जल्दी शांति बहाल करने पर जोर दिया। सेना की १३ टुकड़ियों और अर्ध सैनिक बलों की ५५ कम्पनियों ने असम पुलिस के साथ मिलकर गश्त बढ़ा दी है, जिससे पिछले चार दिनों में कहीं से भी अप्रिय घटना की खबर नहीं है। राहत शिविरों में डॉक्टर और स्वास्थ्यकर्मी दवाईयां और एम्बुलेंस के साथ दौरा कर रहे हैं। लगभग चार लाख लोग २७० शिविरों में शरण लिए हुए हैं। गुवाहाटी से मानस प्रतिम शर्मा की रिपोर्ट के साथ समाचार कक्ष से वीरेन्द्र कौशिक।

जम्मू-कश्मीर में सांबा जिले के राजपुरा इलाके में चेचवाल गांव के निकट अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सीमा पर सीमा सुरक्षा बल ने २८० मीटर लंबी सुरंग का पता लगाया है। यह सुरंग पाकिस्तान की तरफ से खोदी गई लगती है। सुरंग जमीन से २० फुट नीचे और तीन से चार फुट चौड़ी है। सुरंग में ऑक्सीजन और ताजा हवा के लिए हाड्रोलिक प्लास्टिक फायर लगाई गई है। सुरंग अंदर से काफी खुली है और यह सीमा रेखा से दो सौ मीटर की बाड़ तक है और ८० मीटर चेचवाल गांव के अंदर तक है।

इस क्षेत्र में इस तरह की सुरंग का मिलना अभूतपूर्व घटना है। सीमा की रक्षा कर रहे सीमा सुरक्षा बल ने इस संबंध में एक विस्तृत रिपोर्ट अपने नई दिल्ली के मुख्य कार्यालय में भेज दी है और आज वहां से विशेषज्ञों के एक दल के पहुंचने की उम्मीद की जा रही है। सीमा सुरक्षा बल का कहना है कि सीमा पर इस समय कड़ी सुरक्षा के चलते आतंकवादी घुसपैठ करने में विफल हैं और अब वह इस तरह की भूमिगत सुरंगों के माध्यम से गुसपैठ करवाने के लिए नये-नये ढंग खोज रहे हैं। क्षेत्र में व्यापक तलाशी अभियान शुरू किया गया है। योगेश शर्मा आकाशवाणी समाचार जम्मू।

रक्षा मंत्री ए. के. एंटनी ने कल श्रीनगर में जम्मू कश्मीर की संपूर्ण सुरक्षा स्थिति की समीक्षा की। उन्होंने संयुक्त कमांडरों की बैठक की अध्यक्षता भी की, जिसमें सुरक्षा के सभी पहलुओं पर विचार-विमर्श किया गया। सेना और अन्य सुरक्षा एजेंसियों के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों की इस बैठक से पहले उन्होंने राज्य के मुख्यमंत्री उमर अब्दुल्ला से भी बातचीत की।

इससे पहले राज्य की दो दिन की यात्रा पर श्रीनगर पहुंचने के बाद रक्षा मंत्री ने उड़ी सेक्टर के अग्रिम क्षेत्रों का भी दौरा किया।

केन्द्रीय ग्रामीण विकास मंत्री जयराम रमेश ने सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के बैंकों से कहा है कि देश के पूर्वोत्तर राज्यों के स्व-सहायता समूहों को ऋण उपलब्ध कराने पर ज्यादा ध्यान दें। वे कल नयी दिल्ली में ग्रामीण स्वरोजगार प्रशिक्षण संस्थानों की राष्ट्रीय बैठक के बाद संवाददाताओं से बातचीत कर रहे थे। उन्होंने बताया कि पिछले एक वर्ष में देश के पांच सौ छब्बीस जिलों में ग्रामीण स्वरोजगार प्रशिक्षण संस्थान खोले गए हैं।

अभी हमारे सामने एक चुनौती है कि यह जो पांच सौ छब्बीस आर सी टी हैं और खासतौर से जो उत्तर भारत और पूर्वी भारत के जिलों में है उनको हम और कैसे मजबूत करें। अगले दो साल में हमने एक समय सीमा रखा है और जो महिला स्वयं सहायता समूह है उसे भी हम इसको जोड़ने का प्रयास करेंगे।

ग्रामीण विकास मंत्री ने बताया कि उनका मंत्रालय प्रत्येक संस्थान के लिए एक करोड़ रूपये का अनुदान देगा।

अफगानिस्तान के पूर्वी पकतिका प्रांत में पुलिस चौकियों पर सीमापार से किए गए हमलों में लगभग ४० तालिबान आतंकवादी मारे गए और १४ घायल हुए। प्रांतीय सरकार के प्रवक्ता ने बताया कि दर्जनों आतंकवादी अफगानिस्तान-पाकिस्तान सीमा पार कर गोमाल जिले के नहमत आबाद इलाके में कल पुलिस चौकियों में घुस गए। प्रवक्ता ने बताया कि आतंकवादियों से मुकाबले में नेटो के नेतृत्व वाले अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा सहायता बल के हेलीकॉप्टरों की मदद ली गई।

सीरिया के एलेप्पो शहर में घमासान लड़ाई की खबर है। शहर के दक्षिणी और पश्चिमी उपनगरों को विद्रोहियों के कब्जे से मुक्त कराने के लिये सेना ने जवाबी कार्रवाई शुरू कर दी है। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया कि विद्रोही गुट फ्री सीरियन आर्मी ने बताया कि सीरियाई सेना ने शहर को घेर लिया है और खाने-पीने की चीजों तथा ईंधन की आपूर्ति रोक दी है।

सीरिया के सबसे बड़े नगर और व्यवसायिक केन्द्र एलप्पो पर नियंत्रण के लिए सीरियाई सेना और बागियों के बीच लड़ाई एक अहम दौर में पहुंच गई है। विपक्षी सीरियान ओबजर्वेट्री फोर ह्‌यूमन राइट्स ने सीरियाई सेना द्वारा लड़ाकू हेलीकॉप्टरों, टैंको और भारी हथियारों से सलाहद्दीन और सकुर इलाकों में बागियों पर लगातार गोलीबारी का आरोप लगाया है। जबकि सीरियाई सीरियाई समाचार एजेंसी साना ने कहा है कि एलप्पो को आतंकियो से मुक्त के मुहिम के तहत उनकी सप्लाई लाइन्स काट दी गई है। संघर्ष में फंसे हजारों एलप्पो के नागरिक अपने घरों को छोड़कर उत्तरी इलाके में भाग गए हैं। अतुल तिवारी, आकाशवाणी समाचार।

भारत ने कोलम्बो में तीसरे एकदिवसीय अंतर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट मैच में श्रीलंका को पांच विकेट से हरा दिया है। पहले बल्लेबाजी करते हुए श्रीलंका ने निर्धारित पचास ओवर में पांच विकेट पर २८६ रन बनाए। भारत ने ४९ ओवर और चार गेंदों में २८८ रन बनाकर रोमांचक जीत दर्ज की। गौतम गंभीर ने सबसे ज्यादा १०२ रन बनाए। ४५ गेंदो में नाबाद ६५ रन बनाने वाले सुरेश रैना को मैन ऑफ द मैच घोषित किया गया। इस जीत के साथ ही भारत पांच मैचों की श्रृंखला में दो-एक से आगे हो गया है। चौथा एकदिवसीय मैच मंगलवार को कोलम्बो में ही खेला जाएगा।

The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has said that a detailed inquiry will be conducted into the Assam violence and anyone found guilty of instigating it will be punished. Dr Singh announced a compensation package of 300 crore rupees for the violence hit people of Assam. He also announced two lakh rupees from the PM's National Relief Fund to the next of kin of those killed in the violence after a visit to a relief camp in the worst hit Kokrajhar district. Fifty thousand rupees have also been announced for the seriously injured and thirty thousand for those whose homes have been  damaged. People whose homes have been partially damaged will get twenty thousand rupees. The Prime Minister assured that the Centre will do everything possible to bring relief to the affected people living in relief camps.

"We must restore peace and calm throughout the area and I asks all of you to work with the government to ensure their outcome. The calamity has affected hundreds of thousands of our people. We must do everything possible to bring relief to them and to rehabilitate those who have been displaced from their home."

Dr. Singh termed the violence as a blot on the face of the nation and  said it is unacceptable. The 300 crore rupee package includes 100 crore rupees for relief and rehabilitation in the worst affected strife-torn districts. 100 crore rupees are earmarked for development work in the violence-hit areas and another 100 crore rupees will  be made available under the Indira Awas Yojana for the affected areas.
Dr. Singh said,  the Centre is closely working with the state government to provide a sense of security to the people in the violence-marred districts.

"We must address the the cause of the conflict.  If the conflict has been instigated, the guilty must be punished.  The Central government will work closely with the state government to ensure this."

The Chief Executive Officer of the Bodoland Territorial Council Hagrama Mahilary submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister and demanded five lakh rupees per family as rehabilitation grant for construction of homes, sanitation and minimum livelihood.
Our correspondent reports that the situation is fast returning to normal with day curfew lifted from all violence affected areas.

"The visit of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh would give a boost to the confidence building measures among various ethnic groups in the violence hit areas. The Prime Minister yesterday emphasised on restoring peace soon in his visit to relief camps at Kokrajhar. As a result of strict patrolling by 55 companies of Para-military forces and 13 columns of army along with Assam Police, no untoward incidents were reported in the last 4 days. Teams of doctors and medical staff with sufficient stock of medicine and ambulances have been visiting the relief camps. Around 4 lakh people have taken shelter at 270 relief camps. In Jammu and Kashmir,  a 280 metres long tunnel has been detected by the Border Security Force between the zero line and the international border near Chechwal village in Rajpura area of Samba district. The tunnel was probably dug from the Pakistani side. The tunnel is 20 feet below the surface of the earth and is 3 to 4 feet in diameter.  It has been fitted with hydraulic plastic fiber for oxygen and fresh air. The tunnel extends upto 200 metres from zero line upto the fencing and 80 metres into village Chechwal. More from our corespondent:

The detection of such a type of underground channel in this area is an unprecedented incident and its exit in Indian site has not been detected so far. The BSF maintaining vigil on the border in this regard has sent a detailed report to its New Delhi headquarter and a team of expert is expected to reach the spot today. The BSF said the militant had been unable to enter this site in view of strict vigil and now they are working on new techniques of digging undergorund tunnels to facilitate infiltration. In Afghanistan, about 40 Taliban militants were killed and 14 injured when militants launched a cross-border attack against police check-posts in  the country's  eastern Paktika Province. A Provincial Government spokesman  said, dozens of militants crossed the Afghan-Pakistan border and stormed Afghan border police checkposts in Nahmat Abad area of the Gomal district yesterday. He said, helicopters of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force supported the police in the fight against militants. He said, an Afghan Taliban key commander named Zanzer was among those killed.

In Syria, fierce fighting has been reported in Aleppo as the Syrian troops launched their counter offensive against the rebels holding on to the southern and western suburbs in the city. The Rebel Free Syrian Army said the Syrian troops have laid siege to the city and choked the food and fuel supplies. Our West Asia correspondent has filed this report:

"The battle for control of Syria’s largest city and the commercial hub Aleppo has entered in its crucial phase. The opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported firing by helicopter gunships , shelling by tanks and non stop firing in rebel held areas of Salah al deen and Sakhuri. The Syrian Official news agency SANA claimed that the city of Aleppo is being cleared off the terrorists and their supply lines have been cut off. Thousands of Civilians caught up in the firing have fled to the northern parts of the city. Amidst escalating violence, the International Red Crescent has suspended its operations in Aleppo. The opposition activists fear that the Syrian offensive may be akin to the one in Damascus where they outgunned the rebels to reclaim the outer neignbourhoods from them barely a few days ago. India have won the third One Day International Cricket match against Sri Lanka by five wickets.  Set to score 287 for a win, India surpassed the target scoring 288 for five in 49.4 overs at the Premadasa stadium in Colombo. Gautam Ghambir was the top-scorer with 102. India now lead the five-match series Two-One.  
Suresh Raina was named the Man of the Match for his unbeaten knock of 65 off 45 balls. The fourth One-Dayer will be played at the same venue in Colombo on Tuesday.

At the London Olympics, India's top pugilist Vijender Singh has entered the pre-quarterfinals of the 75 kg category by defeating  Kazakhstan's Denabek Sukhanov with a comfortable 14-10 verdict.   Experienced shuttler Parupalli Kashyap and teenage paddler Soumyajit Ghosh also boosted the country's morale by winning their opening round fixtures. The performances of the three were the only plus point for the country on an otherwise disappointing day yesterday. A report from London:

असम में हिंसाग्रस्त कोकराझार, चिरांग और धुबरी में स्थिति धीरे-धीरे सामान्य होती जा रही है। सुरक्षाबलों की गश्त जारी है। हिंसा प्रभावित क्षेत्रों में एहतियात के तौर पर रात का कर्फ्यू भी जारी है। गृहमंत्री पी. चिदंबरम हिंसाग्रस्त क्षेत्रों की स्थिति का जायज+ा लेने के लिए कल दो दिन की यात्रा पर असम जा रहे हैं। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया है कि श्री चिदंबरम प्रशासन और पुलिस अधिकारियों के साथ स्थिति की समीक्षा करेंगे।

इस बीच, हिंसा में मरने वालों की संख्या बढ़कर अट्ठावन हो गई है। सड़सठ लोग घायल हुए हैं और सात लोग अब भी लापता हैं। करीब चार लाख लोग दो सौ अठहत्तर राहत शिविरों में शरण लिए हुए हैं। राहत शिविरों में चिकित्सा सुविधाएं मुहैया कराई गई हैं।

केंद्रीय कृषि मंत्री शरद पवार ने अब तक हुई कम वर्षा पर चिंता व्यक्त करते हुए कहा है कि अगर अगले दो महीनों में ठीक से वर्षा नहीं हुई तो देश को गंभीर स्थिति का सामना करना पड़ सकता है। उन्होंने कहा कि सब कुछ अगस्त और सितंबर में होने वाली वर्षा पर निर्भर है। श्री पवार आज नवी मुंबई में बोनकोड़े में एक स्काई वॉक का उद्घाटन कर रहे थे। उन्होंने कहा कि कम वर्षा के बावजूद खाद्यान्नों की आपूर्ति पर कोई असर नहीं पड़ेगा, क्योंकि देश में इनका  पर्याप्त भंडार मौजूद है, लेकिन सब्जि+यों की आपूर्ति प्रभावित हो सकती है।

कृषि क्षेत्र के लिए मॉनसूनी वर्षा निर्णायक भूमिका अदा करती है क्योंकि देश के सकल घरेलू उत्पाद में कृषि क्षेत्र का योगदान पंद्रह प्रतिशत है। देश के कृषि योग्य कुल क्षेत्र के चालीस प्रतिशत में ही सिंचाई सुविधा उपलब्ध है।

मौसम विभाग से प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार अब तक हुई कम वर्षा से सबसे अधिक प्रभावित राज्यों में गुजरात, हरियाणा, पंजाब और राजस्थान प्रमुख हैं। सौराष्ट्र और कच्छ में भी सामान्य से पचहत्तर प्रतिशत कम वर्षा हुई है। मॉनसून के दस्तक देने के बाद देश में अनुमान से बाईस प्रतिशत कम वर्षा दर्ज की गई है। उत्तर-पश्चिमी क्षेत्र सबसे अधिक प्रभावित क्षेत्र रहा है, जहां सामान्य से बयालीस प्रतिशत कम वर्षा हुई है।

भारत के दो उद्योग तथा वाणिज्य मंडलों एसोचेम और सी आई आई ने सूखे जैसी स्थिति से निपटने के लिए कुछ महत्वपूर्ण उपाय सुझाये हैं। उद्योग जगत ने मॉनसून की कमी से अर्थव्यवस्था पर पड़ने वाले प्रभावों पर चिन्ता व्यक्त करते हुए सरकार से किसानों को डीज+ल पर सब्सिडी और अधिक पैदावार वाले बीज देने जैसे आपात उपाय करने को कहा है।
  
एसोचेम ने १५ सूत्री नीति का प्रस्ताव करते हुए सुझाव दिया है कि सरकार को, लागत में कमी लाने और पैदावार बढ़ाने के लिए किसानों को प्रोत्साहित करना चाहिए। मॉनसून में कमी को देखते हुए प्रमुख जिन्सों में सट्टेबाजारी और उनकी कीमतों में बढ़ोत्तरी पर लगाम लगाने के लिए प्रभावी कदम उठाने चाहिए।

सरकार १६ महीने में ढाई लाख ग्राम पंचायतों को ब्रॉडबैंड से जोड़ देगी। सरकार के इस महत्वाकांक्षी कार्यक्रम की समीक्षा के लिए हाल ही में योजना आयोग के उपाध्यक्ष मोंटेक सिंह आहलुवालिया की अध्यक्षता में एक बैठक हुई। बैठक में ज्ञान आयोग के अध्यक्ष सैम पित्रौदा ने आश्वासन दिया कि नवम्बर २०१३ तक देश की सभी ढाई लाख पंचायतों को ब्रॉडबैंड सुविधा दे दी जायेगी। ग्राम पंचायतों को ब्रॉडबैंड सुविधा प्रदान करने से  सार्वजनिक सेवाओं में सुधार होगा और इनके बारे में समय पर जानकारी मिल सकेगी। श्री पित्रौदा ने कहा कि राजस्थान, आंध्र प्रदेश और त्रिपुरा में ब्रॉडबैंड कनैक्शन मुहैया कराने की ५८ पायलट परियोजनाएं चल रही हैं जो अगले चार महीने में पूरी हो जाएंगी।

भारत ने आज ओड़िशा के पास चांदीपुर से ब्रह्मोस सुपरसोनिक क्रूज मिसाइल का परीक्षण किया। यह मिसाइल २९० किलोमीटर तक मार कर सकती है। इससे ३०० किलोग्राम तक का पारंपरिक बम गिराया जा सकता है।
 
ज+मीन से ज+मीन पर मार करने वाली इस मिसाइल का परीक्षण सुबह करीब साढ़े दस बजे किया गया। रक्षा सूत्रों ने बताया है कि यह परीक्षण सेना ने किया।
यह मिसाइल  थलसेना और नौसेना में शामिल की जा चुकी है।
   
नौसेना के लिए ब्रह्मोस मिसाइल आईएनएस राजपूत पर २००५ में लगाई गई।  थलसेना की दो रेज+ीमेंट इसे इस्तेमाल कर रही हैं।वायु सेना के लिए इसका परीक्षण अंतिम चरण में है।

ग्रामीण विकास मंत्री जयराम रमेश ने कहा है कि जम्मू-कश्मीर  में आतंकवाद के असर वाले इलाकों में चलाये जा रहे रोजगार कार्यक्रम को देश के नक्सल प्रभावित जि+लों में भी शुरू किया जायेगा। एक समाचार एजेंसी के साथ इंटरव्यू में उन्होंने बताया कि ग्रामीण विकास मंत्रालय ने कहा कि यह कार्यक्रम, विशेष रूप से १०वीं पास या फेल बेरोज+गार युवाओं को ध्यान में रखकर तैयार किया जायेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि नक्सल प्रभावित छत्तीसगढ़ के सुकमा जि+ले में इस कार्यक्रम की शुरूआत की जा चुकी है। इसे ओडीशा, महाराष्ट्र, छत्तीसगढ़ और झारखण्ड के ३४ जि+लों में भी लागू किया जाएगा।

जम्मू-कश्मीर में भारत पाक सीमा पर कल जिस सुरंग का पता चला था उसके सिरे का पता लगाने के लिए खुदाई का काम पूरे जोरों पर है। २८० मीटर लंबी यह सुरंग सांबा जिले में पाई गई है। दिल्ली से वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों का एक दल शीघ्र ही इस स्थल का दौरा करेगा। हमारे संवाददाता ने खबर दी है कि भारत-पाक सीमा पर सुरंग के मुहाने का पता लगाने के लिए सीमा सुरक्षा बल के जवान मुस्तैदी से लगे हुए हैं।

बीएसएफ सूत्रों के अनुसार पाकिस्तान जाने वाली इस सुरंग का फैलाव का पूरी तरह से पता लगाने के लिए अतिरिक्त मशीनरी को काम पर लगाया गया है। खुदाई के कार्य में अभी और समय लगेगा। सीमा सुरक्षा बल ने अभी इस मुद्दे को पाकिस्तानी रेंजरों के साथ नहीं उठाया है क्योंकि अभी यह अभियान पूरा नहीं हुआ है। अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सीमा की चिलयारी चौकी के समीप सीधी रेखा में भूमि धंसने के चलते इस सुरंग का पता चला था। इस भूमिगत रास्ते का पहले घटनावश्य चचराल गांव के एक किसान का पता लगा था।

दार्जिलिंग में आज नवगठित गोरखालैंड क्षेत्रीय प्रशासन की सत्रह सीटों के लिए मतदान शांतिपूर्वक समाप्त हो गया है। जिला पुलिस अधीक्षक कुणाल अग्रवाल के अनुसार कहीं से किसी अप्रिय घटना का समाचार नहीं हैं। हमारे संवाददाता ने बताया है कि लोगों ने बड़े उत्साह से मतदान में हिस्सा लिया।

गोरखालैंड के टेरीटोरियल एडमिनिस्टेशन के प्रथम चुनाव में ४५ में से १७ सीटों के लिए हुए चुनाव में ७५ प्रतिशत मतदान होने की रिपोर्ट प्राप्त हुई है। सभी मतदान केन्द्रों पर पुरूष और महिला मतदाताओं की लम्बी कतार और मतदान करने के लिए अपनी पारी की प्रतीक्षा कर रहे थे। किसी-किसी मतदान केन्द्र पर ८० वर्ष से अधिक उम्र के मतदाता बिना किसी के सहारे अपने मताधिकार का प्रयोग करते देखा गया।

आयकर अधिकारियों ने कहा है कि फ्रांस में भारतीयों की कुल ५६५ करोड़ रुपये की अघोषित आय का पता चला है। फ्रांस के साथ दोहरे कराधान से बचने की संधि के तहत भारतीयों के बैंक खातों के बारे में, भारत ने फ्रांस से सूचना मांगी थी।

केन्द्रीय प्रत्यक्ष कर बोर्ड ने हाल में संसद की लोक लेखा समिति को बताया कि २१९ मामलों में कर अधिकारियों ने कुल ५६५ करोड़ रुपये की  आय का पता लगाया। एक सौ इक्यासी करोड़ रुपये के कर की वसूली  की जा चुकी है।

भारत ने  २०११ में निर्यात में चीन को पीछे छोड़ दिया है। भारत ने निर्यात में १६ दशमलव एक प्रतिशत की वृद्धि दर दर्ज की है। इस के साथ ही  भारत, विश्व के सभी प्रमुख व्यापारी देशों की सूची में सबसे ऊपर हो गया है। विश्व व्यापार संगठन की २०१२ की रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि  २०११ में प्रमुख कारोबारियों में भारत में निर्यात दर सबसे तेज रही। अन्य प्रमुख अर्थव्यवस्थाओं में चीन नौ दशमलव तीन प्रतिशत के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर रहा। विशेषज्ञों के अनुसार निर्यात बाजार में विविधता लाने के, सरकार और निर्यातकों के प्रयासों से भारत का निर्यात बढ़ा।

"The Home Minister will visit a few relief camps in Kokrajhar and Dhubri district and review the relief and rehabilitation steps taken for those who lost their kin and suffered losses during the violence. He is likely to hold separate meetings with Governor J B Patnaik, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and his council of Ministers.Tarun Gogoi will also visit Dhubri district tomorrow to take stock of the relief measures. Expressing concern over deficient rain  Union agriculture minister Sharad Pawar has stated that the country may face a serious situation if it does not rain in the next two months. He said that everything depends on the return of rains in August and September. He said that if it doesn't, the situation would become serious.

The Union Minister was speaking at the inauguration of a skywalk at Bonkode in Navi Mumbai. However the Minister  said that deficitient rain  will not affect the supply food grains and food crops as there is enough stock available though; it may affect the supply of vegetables.

In West Bangal, a total of 45 seats in the newly formed Gorkhaland territory administration, GTA, election to 17 seats was held today under heavy security. Out of 45 GTA seats of Gorkha Janamukti Morcha candidates were already declared elected in 28 seats. The polling ended peacefully today.Other political parties in Darjeeling hills did not file their candidate or withdrew from election arena. More from our correspondent.                           

"In the first election to the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration's election for which polling was held only for 17 seats, 75 percent voters exercise their right of franchise. In Jammu and Kashmir, the operation to dig open the 280-meter long tunnel, which was discovered yesterday along the Indo-Pak Border in Samba district, is in full swing. A team of senior officials from New Delhi will be visiting the spot soon. BSF troops are using more dozers and men to find the origin of the tunnel towards the Indo-Pak border.  More from our correspondent -

"According to BSF sources, more dozers and men have been  deployed  to uncover the tunnel into India from Pakistan. It will take some time to dig the entire tunnel. The BSF has not raised the issue of detection of tunnel with Pakistan Rangers so far as the  operation is not  complete yet. The tunnel was detected after an area caved in a straight line at two three places due to rains near Chillayari Border Out Post (BoP) of BSF along International Border. The secret tunnel was discovered accidentally by a farmer of Chachwal village.Yogesh Sharma AIR NEWS Jammu."

India today test fired the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile as part of a user trial by the Army from a test range at Chandipur off Odisha coast. Defence sources said, the missile, developed under an Indo-Russian joint venture,  has a flight range of up to 290 km and is capable of carrying a conventional warhead of 300 kg. The cruise missile, a surface-to-surface Army version, was test fired as part of a user trial by the Army.

The government is all set to connect 2 lakh fifty thousand gram panchayats with broadband within 16 months with a view to improving public delivery mechanism. A meeting chaired by Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluvalia was held recently to review the government's ambitious programme. During the meeting the Knowledge Commission Chairman Sam Pitroda assured that all the 2,50,000 panchayats in the country will have broadband connectivity by November 2013.

The broadband connectivity for gram panchayats will help improve delivery of public services and get real time feedback.  Besides, this will help in training of panchayat and other grassroots functionaries and empowering the community through e-library.

Uttarakhand has achieved a remarkable goal by bringing live fertility rate to 2.3 per 1000 as well as child mortality rate to 30 per 1000 under National Rural Health Mission. Two hundred seventy seven crore rupees had been allocated to Uttarakhand to improve health services, being one of the most demographically and geographically difficult states. The State has provided 139 ambulances and 93 vehicles to drop back the mother and newly born child from the hospital under the scheme popularly known as Khushion Ki Sawari. 

"Under NRHM, the services of 11083 Ashas have been utilized. State had set the  target to achieve complete immunization by end of the year till the date, state has achieved 75.8 percent of the target. Meanwhile the target for infant mortality rate was 30 per 1000. As far as Mother Mortality rate is concerned the target was 100 per lakh and state has achieved 188 per lakh. The Annual health survey reveals that Mother mortality rate is 190 per lakh in Garhwal, while in Kumaon region is 183 per lakh.Naveen Juyal, AIR News, Dehradun."

The WTO Report 2012 said, India had the fastest export growth among major traders in 2011.  China had the second-fastest export growth of any major economy at 9.3 per cent.

India and Bangladesh have decided to fast track the implementation of various agreements reached during the visits of the two Prime Ministers to each other's countries in 2010 and 2011. Briefing reporters today in Dhaka about the Foreign Office Consultations held between the two countries in New Delhi on Tuesday, Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Mijarul Quayes said that both sides have decided to fast track implementation of various agreements related to projects under the Indian line of credit, land boundary agreement implementation, trade facilitation measures, infrastructure development of land customs station and border haats. He added that co-operation in renewable energy and nuclear energy was also discussed during the Foreign Office consultations.

With the Prime Minister's of India and Bangladesh having taken some landmark decisions during the last two years to transform the bilateral relationship, officials from both sides are now focused on fastraching the implementing the agreements in the interest of both countries. Infrastructure and development projects worth 800 million US Dollars have already been identified and are in different stages of implementation in Bangladesh under the line of credit being provided by India which include purchase of buses, railway wagons, coaches and engines. Reacting to a reporter's questions on the issue of connectivity, transit and transhipment, Bangladesh foreign secreatry Mr. Mijarul Quayes said that there is a need to upgrade the infrastructure at Ashuganj port for which a feasibility study is to be conducted. Income Tax authorities say, undisclosed income of Indians totaling 565 crore rupees has been detected in France. The figure was disclosed in the information that India received from France on Indians having bank accounts, under the exchange of information clause of the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement  with the European country. The Central Board of Direct Taxes told the Parliament's Public Accounts Committee that out of the total 565 crore rupees in 219 cases, taxes amounting to 181 crores have already been realised.

In Syria, fierce fighting between the Syrian troops and the rebel fighters is on to take control of Aleppo, the largest city and the commercial hub of the country. The opposition activists have alleged that helicopter gunships, tanks and artillery are being used to attack them .Meanwhile , Jordan has opened its first tent camp for Syrian refugees in Zataari  along the northern borders with Syria. Three Hindu traders have been abducted by unidentified armed men in the restive Balochistan province of southwest Pakistan. This is the latest in a series of crimes targeting the minority community. The traders were kidnapped at a spot about 140 km from provincial capital Quetta on Friday night. The kidnapped men belong to the same family.They were abducted on their way back home from a family function. Media reports say, the incident triggered protests against the government's continued inability to provide any sort of safety to residents of the province.

While Saina thrashed Sabrina Jaquet of Switzerland in straight Games 21-9 and  21-4, Boxer Jai   Bhagwan defeated Allisop Andrique from Seychelles 18-8 to advance to the pre-quarterfinals of the the men's lightweight category.Saina and Jai Bhagwan along with Boxer Vijender Singh,  Rowers Swarn Singh and the duo of Sandeep Kumar and Manjeet Singh are staying in the hunt  for a medal. In Rowing Swarn Singh won the single sculls repechage round and booked a berth in the last eight .However, paddler Soumyajit Ghosh, women shooters, Badminton mixed doubles pair of Jwala Gutta & V Diju   and the archers put up a flop show in the Games today . In Table Tennis, Soumyajit Ghosh crashed out after suffering a 1-4 defeat at the hands of North Korea's Hyok Bong Kim in a second round of men's singles encounter, thereby ending Indian Challenge in Table Tennis.
