• केन्द्र ने कहा-वह भ्रष्टाचार निरोधक विधेयक पर सभी सम्बद्ध पक्षों से बातचीत को तैयार। सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता अन्ना हजारे की आपत्ति के बाद कृषिमंत्री शरद पवार भ्रष्टाचार के बारे में मंत्रिसमूह से हटे।
• आर्थिक मामलों की मंत्रिमण्डल समिति ने पर्यावरण की चिंताओं से निपटने के लिए राष्ट्रीय स्वच्छ ऊर्जा निधि को मंजूरी दी। केयर्न वेदांता समझौता मंत्रिसमूह को सौंपा।

 सरकार ने कहा है कि वह भ्रष्टाचार निरोधक विधेयक के बारे में सभी सम्बद्ध पक्षों से बातचीत करने को तैयार है। सूचना और प्रसारण मंत्री अम्बिका सोनी ने कहा कि प्रस्तावित विधेयक सभी को स्वीकार्य होना चाहिए। कानून मंत्री वीरप्पा मोइली ने कल कहा था कि सरकार संसद के अगले सत्र में भ्रष्टाचार निरोधक विधेयक पेश करना चाहती है। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री भ्रष्टाचार से निपटने के इच्छुक हैं और वे इस बारे में सुझावों का स्वागत करेंगे।
 इस बीच, केन्द्रीय कृषि मंत्री शरद पवार, सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता अन्ना हजारे की आपत्ति के बाद, भ्रष्टाचार के बारे में गठित मंत्रिसमूह से हट गए हैं।
 श्री पवार ने कल रात पत्रकारों को बताया कि उन्होंने प्रधानमंत्री को पत्र लिखकर सूचित कर दिया है कि वे वित्तमंत्री प्रणब मुखर्जी की अध्यक्षता वाले इस मंत्रिसमूह में नहीं रहना चाहते। इससे पहले श्री पवार ने कहा था कि सभी मंत्रिसमूहों से हटकर उन्हें खुशी होगी। लेकिन अन्ना हजारे का कहना है कि श्री पवार के इस फैसले से कोई फायदा नहीं बल्कि उन्हें केन्द्रीय मंत्रिमण्डल से भी इस्तीफा दे देना चाहिए।
  अन्ना हजारे के आमरण अनशन का आज तीसरा दिन है। राजधानी दिल्ली और देश के अन्य हिस्सों में उनके अभियान के जोर पकड़ने के बाद उसे समाप्त करने के कोई संकेत नहीं है। कल बड़ी संख्या में लोगों ने अन्ना हजारे से मिलकर उनके अभियान के प्रति समर्थन व्यक्त किया।
 इससे पहले, अन्ना हजारे ने प्रधानमंत्री को पत्र लिखकर भ्रष्टाचार से निपटने के एक व्यापक कानून की मांग की।
 अन्ना हजारे ने कांग्रेस की आलोचना की है कि वह उनके भ्रष्टाचार विरोधी आंदोलन को अनावश्यक और समय से पूर्व बताकर लोगों को गुमराह कर रही है। उन्होंने भाजपा पर मुद्दे का राजनीतिक लाभ उठाने का आरोप लगाया।

 सरकार ने केन्द्रीय सतर्कता आयुक्त के रूप मे किसी नये व्यक्ति की नियुक्ति की प्रक्रिया शुरू कर दी है। सभी मंत्रालयों, विभागों और सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के प्रतिष्ठानों को इस पद के लिए नाम सुझाने को कहा गया है। उच्चतम न्यायालय ने पिछले महीने श्री पी जे थॉमस पर भ्रष्टाचार के आरोपों के कारण इस पद पर उनकी नियुक्ति रद्द कर दी थी।

 आर्थिक मामलों की कैबिनेट समिति - सी.सी.ई.ए. ने राष्ट्रीय स्वच्छ ऊर्जा निधि को मंजूरी दे दी है। इस निधि का इस्तेमाल स्वच्छ ऊर्जा प्रौद्योगिकी में अनुसंधान और नई परियोजनाओं के लिए किया जाएगा। इन योजनाओं को मंजूरी देने के लिए मंत्रियों का एक दल भी बनाया गया है।
 बैठक के बाद पेट्रोलियम मंत्री एस जयपाल रेड्डी ने यह जानकारी दी।

 ब्रिटेन के वेदांत गु्रप ने कहा था कि उसे सेबी से केयर्न इंडिया के ५१ प्रतिशत शेयर प्राप्त करने की अनुमति मिल गई है और अब कंपनी ओपन ऑफर पर आगे कदम बढ़ायेगी।
 केयर्न इंडिया के पास साढ़े छह अरब बैरल के राजस्थान ब्लॉक का ७० प्रतिशत हिस्सा है और वह किसी तरह की रायल्टी का भुगतान नहीं करता। वह वसूली के भी खिलाफ है, क्योंकि इससे उसके मुनाफे पर असर पड़ता है। इस ब्लॉक का शेष तीस प्रतिशत हिस्सा ओ.एन.जी.सी. के पास है।
 केन्द्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने राष्ट्रीय जल मिशन के व्यापक दस्तावेज को भी मंजूरी दे दी है।

 पायलटों और इंजीनियरो की परीक्षा की वर्तमान प्रकिया की जांच के लिए नागरिक उड्डयन मंत्रालय ने विच्चेषज्ञ समिति बनाई है। इसका उद्देच्च्य परीक्षा प्रणाली को सुरक्षित, भरोसेमंद, कारगर और श्रेष्ठ पद्धतियों के अनुरूप बनाना है। हमारे संवाददाता ने खबर दी है कि यह समिति परीक्षा और लाइसेंस प्रक्रिया के संचालन में इलेक्ट्रोनिक टेक्नोलोजी को शामिल करने की संभावनाओं पर विचार के बाद परीक्षा प्रणाली को बेहतर बनाने के बारे में सुझाव देगी। समिति नागरिक उड्डयन महानिदेच्चालय की ओर से लाइसेंस देने से पहले दस्तावेजो की पुष्टि की कारगर प्रणाली भी तैयार करेगी।

  राजधानी में कुट्टू के आटे के इस्तेमाल से बीमार होने के कारण कल एक व्यक्ति की मृत्यु हो गयी है। कल उत्तर पूर्वी और पूर्वी दिल्ली के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों  में मिलावटी कुट्टु के आटे से तैयार भोजन खाने से लगभग २०० लोग बीमार हो गए थे, जिन्हें विभिन्न अस्पतालों में भर्ती कराया गया था।

 उत्तर प्रदेच्च में कुट्टू के आटे मे मिलावट करने और बेचने के आरोप में सात व्यक्तियों के खिलाफ पांच प्राथमिकियां दर्ज की गई हैं। राज्य के विभिन्न जिलो मे करीब चार सौ क्विंटल आटा नष्ट कर दिया गया है।
 हमारे सवांददाता ने खबर दी है कि सरकार ने किचन ब्रांड कुट्टू के आटे की बिक्री पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया है।

 हरियाणा में मिलावटी कुट्टू के आटे के इस्तेमाल से बीमार लोगों की संख्या करीब ६० हो गयी है। प्रशासन के अनुसार आटे का परीक्षण कराया जा रहा है।

 असम में बराक घाटी की छह विधानसभा सीटों के १० मतदान केंद्रों पर आज दोबारा वोट डाले जा रहे हैं। सवेरे सात बजे से शुरू हुआ मतदान दिन में तीन बजे तक चलेगा। सोमवार को पहले चरण के मतदान के दौरान इन केंद्रों पर गड़बड़ियों और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक वोटिंग मशीनों में खराबी की शिकायतें मिलने के बाद निर्वाचन आयोग ने यहां पुनर्मतदान कराने का आदेश दिया था।

 तमिलनाडु में विधानसभा चुनाव की तैयारियों के बीच राज्य के अलग - अलग हिस्सों से बिना हिसाब - किताब का धन बरामद होना जारी है। राज्य के चुनाव अधिकारियों ने अब तक ऐसे तीस करोड़ रूपये जब्त किए हैं। सूत्रों के अनुसार आयकर विभाग ने तिरूनलवेली जिले से पिछले २४ घंटे के दौरान लगभग ७५ लाख रूपये बरामद किए। चुनाव में धन-बल का इस्तेमाल रोकने के उद्देश्य से निर्वाचन आयोग ने यह अभियान शुरू किया है।

 उत्तर प्रदेश में सहारनपुर जिले के देवबंद इलाके में रोडवेज की एक बस के खड्ड में गिर जाने से सात यात्रियों की मृत्यु हो गई और ५० घायल हो गए। घायलों में से कुछ की हालत गंभीर है।
हमारे लखनऊ संवाददाता ने खबर दी है कि घायलों को सहारनपुर और मुजफ्‌फरनगर जिलों के विभिन्न अस्पतालों में ले जाया गया है।

 झारखंड में नक्सलियों ने चतरा जिले में रिलायंस पॉवर कंपनी के महाप्रबंधक मनोज कुमार ओझा की गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी और सहायक उपाध्यक्ष हिरेन गुझ तथा अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों को घायल कर दिया। घायलों को रांची के एक प्राइवेट अस्पताल में भर्ती करा दिया गया है। यह घटना चतरा जिले के तांडवा थाने के तहत हेसातु - सिदपा सड़क के बिरबिर नाले के निकट हुई, जब तीन वर्दीधारी सशस्त्र नक्सलियों ने रिलायंस कंपनी के अधिकारियों को ले जा रहे वाहनों पर गोलियां चलाईं। ये अधिकारी बिजलीघर लगाने के लिए एक स्थल का निरीक्षण करके लौट रहे थे। अपराधियों की धरपकड़ के लिए पुलिस ने व्यापक अभियान शुरू किया है।

 आज विश्व स्वास्थ्य दिवस के अवसर पर स्वस्थ्य जीवनशैली के बारे में जागरूकता के लिए देशभर में कई कार्यक्रम आयोजित किये जा रहे हैं। विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन -डब्ल्यूएचओ की स्थापना के उपलक्ष्य में हर वर्ष सात अपै्रल को यह दिवस मनाया जाता है।  इस वर्ष का विषय एंटीबॉयोटिक दवाओं का दुरूपयोग रोकना है। विभिन्न स्थानों पर इस बारे में चित्रकला प्रतियोगिताएं, स्लोगन लेखन, मार्च जैसे कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया जा रहा है।

  अनुभवी फारवर्ड अर्जुन हलप्पा को अगले महीने मलेशिया में होने वाले सुल्तान अजलान शाह कप के लिये भारतीय हाकी टीम का कप्तान चुना गया है जबकि ड्रैग फ्लिकर संदीप सिंह और सरदारा सिंह ४५ संभावित खिलाड़ियों में जगह नहीं बना सके। तीस वर्षीय हलप्पा पिछले साल विश्व कप, राष्ट्रमंडल खेल और एशियाई खेलों में भारत की अगुवाई करने वाले राजपाल सिंह की जगह लेंगे। टूर्नामेंट के लिये १८ सदस्यीय टीम इस महीने की १८ और १९ तारीख को आखिरी ट्रायल के बाद चुनी जायेगी।

 प्रमुख पच्च्िचमी देच्च लीबिया में जारी संघर्ष के समाधान के लिए विद्रोहियों तथा कर्नल गद्दाफी के अधिकारियों के बीच वार्ता कराने की कोच्चिच्चों में जुटे हैं।  लेकिन दोनों पक्षों की ओर से शर्तें थोपे जाने की वजह से अब तक वार्ता शुरू होने के लिए कोई समझौता नहीं हो सका है।

 इस बीच गद्दाफी ने अमरीकी राष्ट्रपति बराक ओबामा को पत्र लिखकर नेटो के हवाई हमले बंद कराने की अपील की है लेकिन अमरीका ने यह अपील ठुकरा दी है। अमरीकी विदेश मंत्री हिलेरी क्लिंटन ने कल गद्दाफी की अपील ठुकराते हुए कहा कि लीबियाई नेता को अपनी फौजें वापस बुलानी चाहिये और निर्वासन में चले जाना चाहिये।

 अखबारों ने सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता अन्ना हजारे के अनशन से संबंधित खबरों को विभिन्न शीर्षकों से दिया है। जहां राजस्थान पत्रिका लिखता है-नहीं माने अन्ना, अनशन जारी। वहीं दैनिक भास्कर ने लिखा है-हजारे से हारे पवार। राष्ट्रीय सहारा की खबर है-जनता बोली दूरे रहे नेता। अमर उजाला ने अन्ना हजारे के समर्थन में जंतर-मंतर पर कैंडल मार्च करते लोगों के चित्र के साथ लिखा है-अनशन जारी, सरकार ने दिये वार्ता के संकेत।
 इकनॉमिक टाइम्स की पहली खबर है-केयर्न-वेदांता सौदे में आई मुश्किलें,  सौदे का १५ अप्रैल तक पूरा होना कठिन है।
 राजस्थान पत्रिका ने अनाज की इस वर्ष बंपर पैदावार होने की खबर को विस्तार से दिया है।

 बिजनेस भास्कर ने अपने विशेष आलेख में लिखा है कि भारत के ग्रामीण घरों में स्वच्छ स्टोव पहुंचाने की कोशिश कर रहा है अमेरिका, लेकिन भारत को इस पर आपत्ति। पत्र लिखता है कि इसकी आड़ में प्रदूषण को कम करने की जिम्मेदारी विकासशील देशों पर डालने की कोशिश कर सकते हैं विकसित देश। अपने हित साधने के लिए देश के रसोई घरों में हिलेरी का ताकना भारत को गवारा नहीं।
       नवभारत टाइम्स ने मुखपृष्ठ पर विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन के एक अध्ययन को खबर बनाया है कि ५३ प्रतिशत भारतीय बिना डॉक्टरी सलाह के एंटीवायटिक लेते हैं, जो फायदे के बजाय नुकसान पहुंचा सकता है और सर्दी-जुकाम जैसी स्थिति में अगर डॉक्टर एंटीबायटिक नहीं लिखा तो भारत में ४८ प्रतिशत लोग डॉक्टर बदलना पसंद करते हैं।

The Centre has said that it is ready to hold talks with all stake holders in the anti-corruption bill. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni said the proposed Bill has to be acceptable to all and the government is ready for discussions with all stake holders.

Law Minister Veerapa Moily has said that the government is anxious to bring sthe anti-corruption bill in the next session of Parliament.

The government headed by Manmohan Singh has demonstrated his will power to go all out against corruption and we are ready to come with next session itself we are prepared to introduce the bill. It has been the intention of the GoM and the intension of our Prime Minister to have a proper transparent dialogue with the Anna Hazare's group and rest of them.

Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal said that a sub-committee of the GoM held discussions with some activists but they were adamant that the government should take a decision on the draft submitted by them before 5th of this month.

Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar has quit the Group of Ministers, GoM on corruption following social activist Anna Hazare's objection to his being part of the Ministerial panel on corruption.  Mr Pawar told the media last night that he has written a letter to the Prime Minister informing him that he does not want to be part of the GoM. The panel is headed by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee.  Mr Hazare, however, said that Mr Pawar's decision to quit the GoM on corruption will not serve any purpose and demanded that he resign from the Union Cabinet too.

In the meantime, the fast unto death by social activist Anna Hazare has entered the third day today. A large number of people visited him yesterday at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to express their solidarity with the cause.

Earlier, Mr Hazare wrote a letter to the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh demanding a comprehensive law to deal with corruption.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, CCEA, has approved the constitution of a National Clean Energy Fund in the Public Account of India.  The fund will be used for funding research and innovative projects in clean energy technology. An inter-ministerial group has been constituted to approve the schmes and projects for financing under the fund.

The  CCEA has also referred the Cairn-Vedanta deal on energy to a Group of Ministers, GoM. Petroleum Minister S Jaipal Reddy said after the meeting in New Delhi that the GoM will be headed by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee.

The issue of clearance of sale of Cairn shares to Vedanta resources should be referred to Group of Ministers and Group of Ministers will be head by Shri Pranab Mukherjee.

The Union Cabinet has approved the Comprehensive Mission Document of the National Water Mission. The Water Mission aims at conservation of water, minimizing wastage and ensuring its equitable distribution both across and within States through integrated water resources development and management.  The Cabinet also approved the opening of a Consulate General  in Perth, which will benefit the growing Indian community in Western Australia.

The Civil Aviation Ministry of has set up an expert committee to examine the current system of examination of pilots and  engineers with a view  to  making the examination system secure, credible, efficient and in line with modern and best practices. The Committee will also examine introduction of electronic technology in the conduct of examinations and licensing procedure  and make recommendations for their improvement. Introduction of an effective system of cross-verification of documents filed by candidates will also be examined by the Committee.

In order to eliminate the queues at the airports and reduce the waiting time, Air India  has introduced a mobile check-in facility for its domestic passengers from the six major metro cities from today. In a statement an Air India  spokesperson said the new facility will enable passengers from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bengaluru to check-in for their flights from their web-enabled mobile hand sets. He said to check the passengers may access URL http://flyai.mobi and follow the sequence-wise instructions given on the mobile screen.

In Uttar Pradesh, 5 FIRs have been lodged against seven persons for preparing and selling adulterated Buckwheat/Kuttu flour.

In Uttar Pradesh the government has banned sell of Kitchen Brand Kuttu Flour. Owner of the said brand flour factory at Ghaziabad has been arrested and factory has also been sealed. About 600 people were taken ill in Ghaziabad, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Bulandshahr and Gautan Buddha Nagar after consuming eatables prepared from the contaminated flour. The Food and Drug Authority officials have conducted state wide raids and arrested about 25 persons including whole sale dealers.

Delhi police have registered 14 criminal cases against various retailers of the contaminated buckwheat in east and northeast Delhi. 11 people were arrested for allegedly selling the adulterated buckwheat.

A 58-year-old MCD employee died at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital yesterday. He was among the estimated 300 persons admitted to various city hospitals after having consumed adulterated buckwheat in east and northeast Delhi.

In Tamil Nadu, with just five days to go for the polls, campaigning is reaching its peak with national leaders taking centre stage canvassing support for various fronts. In Kerala, campaigning is reaching its peak for the April 13 assembly polls. CPIM, the leading party of the ruling Left Democratic Front has further stepped up campaigning by fielding prominent national leaders to seek vote across the state to counter the Congress led United Democratic Front campaigning.

God's own country's main political rivals, LDF and UDF, are in the political battle filed with the spirit of an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. Congress party has approached the election commission against Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan stating that his statement about Lathika Subhash of congress amounts to character assasination. Lathika Subhash is fighting against V S Achuthandan from Malampuzha constituency. CM has denied the allegation. However, she has also approached the court on the issue. Even as high profile leaders of Congress, CPIM and BJP are crisscrossing Kerala to ensure victory of their party candidates, the voters salute the actions of election commission for implementing election code strictly. Meanwhile, the Commission has clarified that voters slip will be issued at polling booths as well through help desks. As part of 40 company central force deployment, security personnel has reached Thiruvanthapuram from Maharashtra yesterday.

In Assam, amid tight security arrangements repolling is on in ten polling booths of six assembly constituencies in Barak valley area of the state. Repolling will be upto 3 pm. Maximum number of five polling booths are in Silchar assembly constituency. One each polling station is in Karimganj South, Borkhola, Algapur, Udharbond and Dholai. Today is World Health Day. The day is celebrated every year to mark the founding of the World Health Organisation, WHO. This year the theme is Combatting Drug Resistance. It aims to reduce the misuse of anti-biotics which causes the microbes to become drug resistant.  Several functions like painting competitions, slogan writing, awareness walks etc are being organised across the country to spread awareness about the need to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Last year, at least 4,40,000 new cases of multidrug resistant-tuberculosis were detected and extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis has been reported in 69 countries this year. The malaria parasite is acquiring resistance to even the latest generation of medicines. WHO  warns that although we live in an era of medical breakthroughs, Drug resistance is becoming more and more severe and many infections are no longer easily cured, leading to prolonged and expensive treatment and greater risk. With the slogan  "No Action Today, No Cure Tomorrow", the message is loud and clear.

Veteran forward Arjun Halappa has been appointed captain of the Indian team for next month's Sultan Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament in Malaysia. 30-year-old Halappa will replace Rajpal Singh, who led India in last year's World Cup, the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games.  This was disclosed by Hockey India Secretary General Narinder Batra yesterday. On the conclusion of the first phase of the training camp at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi, Hockey India conducted the selection trials on April 4th and 5th to shortlist the probables for the championship to be played from May 5th to 15th at Ipoh.
