 आध्यात्मिक गुरु सत्य साईं बाबा का पार्थिव शरीर अंतिम दर्शनों के लिए पुत्तापर्थी के प्रशान्ति निलयम के साईं कुलवंत हॉल में रखा गया है। सत्य साईं बाबा का कल देहवसान हो गया था। उन्हें बुधवार को प्रशान्ति निलयम के साईं कुलवंत हॉल में दफनाया जाएगा। भारत में आध्यात्मिक गुरुओं के अंतिम संस्कार के लिए यही पद्धति अपनाई जाती है।  आंध्रप्रदेश में बुधवार तक शोक की घोषणा की गई है। हमारे संवाददाता ने खबर दी है कि सत्य साईं बाबा का निधन, उनके द्वारा शुरू किए गए विविध सामाजिक कार्यक्रमों से लाभान्वित होने वालों के लिए बहुत बड़ा सदमा है।

पूरी रात देश विदेश से आये श्रद्धालुओं ने सांईबाबा के पार्थिव शरीर के अंतिम दर्शन पाये सांई कुलवंत हॉल में सेवा दल के सदस्य भजन कीर्तन के द्वारा अपनी श्रद्धा प्रकट कर रहे हैं। सचिन तेंदुलकर, बाबा रामदेव के अलावा कई गणय व्यक्ति आज पुत्तपर्थी आने की संभावना है। आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री ने आश्वासन दिया है कि साईं बाबा द्वारा आरंभ कार्यक्रम कोई भी रुकावट के बिना आगे भी लागू होंगे। आज प्रसार के निलियम शोक के माहौल में डूबा हुआ है। लंबी कतारों में श्रद्धालु आंखों में आंसु भरे बाबा के गुणगान कर रहे हैं। पुत्तपर्थी में आज भी दुकान बंद है और कई जगहों पर दर्शनार्थियों के लिए उचित भोजन का इंतिजाम किया गया है। पुत्तपर्थी आने के लिए विशेष रेल और बस की व्यवस्था भी की गई है।

 टू जी स्पैक्ट्रम मामले में केन्द्रीय जांच ब्यूरो आज पूरक आरोप पत्र दाखिल कर सकता है। यह आरोप पत्र सी बी आई के विशेष न्यायाधीश ओ पी सैनी की अदालत में पेश किया जाएगा। सी बी आई सूत्रों के अनुसार आरोप पत्र स्पैक्ट्रम लाइसेंस के आवंटन में कथित घोटालों पर केंद्रित होगा। जांच एजेंसी इस मामले में पहले ही पूर्व दूर संचार मंत्री ए राजा सहित कुछ लोगों को गिरफ्तार कर चुकी है। सी बी आई ने टू जी स्पैक्ट्रम मामले में पहला आरोप पत्र दो अप्रैल को दाखिल किया था। इस आरोप पत्र में ए राजा और कुछ कम्पनियों के कुछ शीर्ष अधिकारियों को नामजद किया गया था।

 पश्चिम बंगाल में विधानसभा चुनाव के तीसरे चरण का प्रचार आज शाम समाप्त हो रहा है। इस चरण में बुधवार को कोलकाता सहित उत्तर और दक्षिण-२४ परगाना जिलों के ७५ निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों में वोट डाले जाएंगे। विभिन्न दलों के चार सौ ८० उम्मीदवार चुनाव मैदान में हैं। सभी राजनीतिक दल जबर्दस्त प्रचार कर रहे हैं।

परिवर्तन के लहर के जरिये ममता बेनर्जी २००९ के लोकसभा परिणाम को दोहराने को आतुर हैं। जब उनकी पार्टी तृणमूल कांग्रेस ने इन तीन जिलों के सभी सीटों पर एकसा पर्चम लहराया था। यही वजह है कि ७५ सीटों में से अकेले ७० सीटों पर तृणमूल ने प्रत्याशी दिये हैं। जबकि कांग्रेस तीन पर और एसीसीआई दो पर मुकाबले में है। यहां तक के ममता के धुर विरोधी मुख्यमंत्री बुधदेव भट्टाचार्य भी मानते हैं कि सबसे लड़ाई कठिन है। पर साथ वे रेकॉर्ड आठवीं बार जीत के प्रति आशानिवृत भी हैं। बहराल राइटस बिल्डिंग पर काबिज होने की जंग एक रोचक मोड़ पर आ खड़ी हुई है।

 कांग्रेस ने दावा किया है कि उत्तर प्रदेश में गैर कांग्रेसी दलों की सरकारों के पिछले २२ साल के कथित कुशासन के बाद केवल उसी का नेतृत्व परिस्थितियों में बदलाव ला सकता है। कांग्रेस ने आगामी विधानसभा चुनाव के लिए प्रचार की शुरूआत बस्ती जिले में परिवर्तन रैली के साथ की।

इस रैली में कांग्रेस नेताओं खासकर केंद्रीय मंत्रियों ने राज्य सरकार के कथित विफलताओं खासकर बिगड़ती कानून व्यवस्था और विकास कार्यक्रमों को लागू करने में हिला हवाली को लेकर बहुजन समाज पार्टी के नेतृत्व वाली राज्य सरकार पर तीखे हमले किये हैं। नेताओं ने कहा है कि केंद्रीय धन के दुरूपयोग की वजह से राज्य में राष्ट्रपति शासन लागू करने की स्थिति है। लेकिन पार्टी नेतृत्व एक निर्वाचित सरकार को जनता द्वारा ही हटाने के पक्ष में है। इस बीच, सत्तारुढ़ बहुजन समाज पार्टी ने राज्य में कानून व्यवस्था की स्थिति में सुधार का दावा करते हुए कांग्रेस के आरोपों को सिरे से खाजि कर दिया है। सुनील शुक्ल आकाशवाणी समाचार लखनऊ।

 इस अवसर पर यूपीए अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी ने कहा कि पंचायत राज प्रणाली को सशक्त बनाने के विभिन्न विकल्पों पर विचार करने की जरूरत है।
पंचायत राज एक ऐसा औजार है जिसके जरिये लोग अपने सामाजिक आर्थिक विकास की योजना बना सकते हैं। इन कार्यक्रमों का पूरा लाभ सभी लोगों को तभी मिल सकेगा जब पंचायत राज संस्थाएं मजबूत और सक्षम होंगी।
 इससे पहले प्रधानमंत्री ने सात राज्यों को उल्लेखनीय कार्य के लिए पंचायत-गौरव ग्राम सभा पुरस्कार प्रदान किए।

 राष्ट्रपति प्रतिभा देवी सिंह पाटिल ने कहा है कि भारत और मारीशस हिंद महासागर में समुद्री लुटेरों से निपटने के लिए मिलकर काम करेंगे। मारीशस जाते हुए एअर इंडिया के एक विशेष विमान पर संवाददाताओं से बातचीत में उन्होंने कहा कि भारत आतंकवाद विरोधी सेल बनाने में मारीशस की मदद करेगा। आज मारीशस के नेताओं के साथ राष्ट्रपति की बातचीत में परस्पर हितों के आपसी, क्षेत्रीय और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मुद्दों पर चर्चा होगी।

 लीबिया की राजधानी त्रिपोली में नैटो के जेट विमानों के उड़ान भरने के बाद तेज धमाकों की आवाज सुनी गई है, जबकि तीन टी वी स्टेशनों का प्रसारण बंद हो गया है। खबरों में कहा गया है कि लीबियाई टेलीविजन, जमाहीरिया और शबाबिया का प्रसारण बमबारी के बाद आधे घंटे के लिए बंद हो गया। रविवार को कर्नल मुआम्मर गद्दाफी के वफादार सुरक्षा बलों ने मिसराता पर बमबारी की।

 सीरिया में एक मानवाधिकार संगठन के अनुसार सुरक्षा बलों ने कल जावला शहर में नौ लोगों को मार गिराया। कल ही सौ से ज्यादा लेखकों और पत्रकारों ने विरोध प्रदर्शनकारियों के खिलाफ सरकारी कार्रवाई की आलोचना की । एक बयान में उन्होंने प्रदर्शनों के बारे में खबरों को लेकर सरकारी मीडिया की आलोचना की।
 अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय मानवाधिकार संगठन ह्‌यूमन राइटस वॉच ने प्रदर्शनकारियों के मारे जाने के बाद कहा है कि सीरिया के राष्ट्रपति बशर अल असद की सरकार के खिलाफ प्रतिबंध लगाये जाने चाहियें। शुक्रवार से लेकर अब तक सरकारी सुरक्षा बलों की कार्रवाईयों में एक सौ तीस विपक्षी नेता और प्रदर्शनकारी मारे गये हैं।

 मिस्र के लोक अभियोजक ने पूर्व राष्ट्रपति हुस्नी मुबारक को जेल भेजने से पहले सेना के अस्पताल ले जाने का आदेश दिया है। ८२ वर्षीय श्री मुबारक पूछताछ के दौरान बीमार होने के बाद से शर्म अल शेख के  निजी अस्पताल में भर्ती हैं। लोक अभियोजक का कहना है कि मुबारक अब इतने स्वस्थ हो चुके हैं कि उन्हें काहिरा की तोरा जेल भेजा जा सकता है। इसी जेल में श्री मुबारक के पुत्रों गमाल और आला को भी रखा गया है। जेल में श्री मुबारक से भ्रष्टाचार के आरोपों पर पूछताछ हो सकती हैं। उन पर इस्राइल को कम दामों पर  गैस आपूर्ति करने का भी आरोप है। श्री मुबारक से सरकार विरोधी प्रदर्शनकारियों पर हुई हिंसक कार्रवाई के बारे में भी पूछताछ हो सकती है। इस कार्रवाई में आठ सौ से ज्यादा लोग मारे गए थे।

 इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग में राजस्थान रॉयल्स ने कोच्चि टस्कर्स केरल को आठ विकेट से हरा दिया है। कल रात जयपुर के सवाईमान सिंह स्टेडियम में राजस्थान रॉयल्स ने १४ ओवर और एक गेंद में १११ रन बनाकर मैच जीत लिया। शेन वॉटसन ने ४९ और राहुल द्रविड़ ने ४४ रन बनाए।
 कोच्चि टस्कर्स ने निर्धारित २० ओवर में १०९ रन बनाए। राजस्थान रॉयल्स के लिए शेनवार्न और त्रिवेदी ने तीन-तीन विकेट लिये। शेनवार्न को मैन ऑफ द मैच घोषित किया गया।

The mortal remains of  the Satya Sai Baba, who passed away yesterday, were laid in a glass case in Sai Kulwant Hall in Prashanti Nilayam for devotees to pay their homage in Puttaparthi in Ananthapur district of the Andhra Pradesh. The mortal remains will be buried at the Sai Kulwant Hall in Prashanti Nilayam on Wednesday in line with the practice adopted for spiritual leaders in India . Andhra Pradesh Government has declared state mourning till Wednesday. The demise of Baba came as a deep shock for the beneficiaries of  the various social programmes launched by him through  the Sathya Sai Central Trust. More from AIR Correspondent:

The Central Bureau of Investigation,  the CBI is likely to file a supplementary charge sheet today in the multi-crore 2G Spectrum scam. The charge sheet will be filed in a court of Special CBI Judge  O P Saini. According to CBI sources, the charge sheet will focus on the kick backs in allotment of Spectrum licences. The investigating agency has already made some arrests in the case including the former Telecom Minister A Raja. It had filed the first charge sheet in the case on the 2nd of this month naming A Raja and several other top business  executives in it.

Refuting media reports of alleged division among civil society drafting committee members on the Jan Lokpal bill, former Chief Justice of India, Justice J S Verma has asserted that the members are committed to form a robust bill. After attending a roundtable conference yesterday called by the civil society members in New Delhi, he said that they would not succumb to the pressure being formed by the political class and would continue with the process of drafting the Bill. He added that members have reached a consensus on most issues regarding the role of Lokpal and  relations with the CVC and the CBI.

The civil society members had called many citizens with varied experience from the legal profession, constitutional authorities and the media for a round table conference to discuss various sections of the proposed bill in the national capital yesterday.

In West Bengal, campaigning is in full swing in all 75 seats spread over Kolkata and the North and South 24 Pargana districts for third phase of assembly polls on Wednesday. The Centre has alleged that  the West Bengal Government is not utilising the funds meant for welfare of the people of the State. Addressing a rally in the South 24 Pargana District for the third phase of polls, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee yesterday said, the State Government has failed to spend the 1000 crore rupees Central grant for various developmental projects. He said, the tempest of change which started in North Bengal, will turn into a Cyclone in South Bengal and will uproot the Left-Front government.
On the other hand, State Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya said, the Left Front is seeking a continuous 8th term on the basis of good governance. Addressing media in Kolkata, he said, the Left Front has presented an agenda before the people with a focus on agricultural development, industrialization and an improved Public Distribution System. Trinamool Congress Chief Mamta Banerji has asked her supporters not to get provoked by what she termed baseless charges by the Left Front leaders. Addressing a public meeting at Garia in the South 24 Parganas, she asked the people to rise to the occasion and vote for change.

The Election Commission has appointed S. Srinivasan, the Chief Electoral officer of Odisha as special observer for overseeing the third phase Assembly polls.

Meanwhile, BJP General Secretary Ravi Shankar Prasad said, the left front will loose power as people are fed up with the slow pace of progress in the state. Addressing the media in Kolkata, he also alleged that the Election Commission is not allowing his party leaders to campaign freely in the state and is creating hurdles. Launching the campaign, the party General Secretary and state in-charge, Mr. Digvijay Singh sharply criticized the Bahujan Samaj Party, BSP led state government and alleged all the funds provided by the Centre for the welfare of poor were being siphoned off while law and order had reached its lowest point. 

Meanwhile, the BSP has rejected the allegations of  the Congress and said that its leaders were trying to mislead the people on  the law and order situation.

Capability enhancement, operational preparedness and modernisation plans are likely to top the agenda during the four-day Indian Air Force commanders’ conference beginning today in New Delhi. The security scenario and threat perception may also figure prminently. The conference is to be inaugurated by the Defence Minister, Mr. AK Antony. It will be chaired by Air Chief Marshal PV Naik. The President Mrs Pratibha Devisingh Patil today on the second day of her state visit to Mauritius will meet her counterpart Sir Anerood Jugnauth and the Mauritius Prime Minister Mr. Navin Chandra Ramgoolam. Loud explosions have rocked the Libyan capital Tripoli, briefly putting three Television stations off the air, as NATO jets overflew the city. Reports say Libyan Television, Jamahiriya and Shabiya were off  the air for about half an hour following the blasts shortly after midnight. Forces loyal to the Libyan leader yesterday bombarded areas of the western city of Misrata, despite the regime saying it had halted attacks to allow local tribes to negotiate with rebels. At least six people were reported killed in the latest bombardment, which is said to have hit the city centre and three residential districts. According to a report although pro-Gaddafi forces encircled Misrata, their forces inside the city were themselves surrounded by rebel fighters. Human rights groups say that more than 1,000 people have been killed in Misrata and many more wounded.

In China, at least 17 people were killed and 24 injured in a building fire yesterday. China's official news agency Xinhua reported that the fire broke out in a four-story building in the Daxing district in the Beijing's southern suburbs. It gave no other details, such as what might have caused the fire.

In the Indian Premier League Cricket, Rajasthan Royals recorded a comfortable 8 wicket win over Kochi Tuskers Kerala at the Sawai Man Singh stadium in Jaipur last night. Chasing a target of 109, Rajasthan Royals scored 111 runs for the loss of only two wickets in 14.1 overs.

Earlier, in another match at Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians recorded a comfortable 37-run win over the Deccan Chargers.

Six teams from different engineering colleges of India have been awarded by international space agency NASA, for designing a lunar vehicle for future expeditions to the moon. According to NASA website, students from high school and college are supposed to design, build and race lightweight, human-powered rovers called "moonbuggies".

The 2G scam continues to haunt. The Statesman writes, ''in a move that may put a fresh strain on the Congress-DMK relations, the CBI's second charge sheet is likely to be filed today and may name Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's daughter Kanimozhi and wife Dayalu Ammal, for getting benefits from the allocation of 2G spectrum. The Indian Express writes that the PM's office has termed as 'false' a report by the Times of London that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had opened secret back-channel talks with the Pakistan Army Chief, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.

The Asian Age informs us that in a swift, surgical joint operation the security forces have eliminated two hard core commanders of the Lashkar-e-Taiba in a fierce gun battle in the town of Banihaal. The two militants had been wanted for a decade and carried a cash reward of 25 lakh on their heads.
