| विवरण | This scheme has been launched by the Govt. of India after merging the schemes of IRDP, DWCRA, TRYSEM, MWS, Sitra, and GKY. This is a holistic programme covering all aspects of self-employment, such as Organisation of the Poor into Self-Help Groups, training, credit, technology, infrastructure, and marketing. The objective of SGSY is to bring every assisted family above the poverty line. There will be no income from this scheme, but the programme is likely to prove an effective instrument in raising the standard of living of the rural people living below the poverty line, and also to provide them with additional job opportunities. |
